We stayed at the Cadogan, Sloane Street - a wonderful family feel hotel but with lots of warm helpful staff this hotel has history and a beautiful old fashioned lift. Getting around London we found taxis were best for us but there's plenty of buses. This is a good place to be for shopping, Harrods just around the corner, plenty of eating places too. Do ask for the key for the gardens which is really nice and peaceful. Collapse

First the good - They treated me very well, arranged for transport from Heathrow with no problems and a return car at an insane time of morning. I was pleased that there was no trouble getting to and from the airport. The room was large and had the view of the front street from the 1st floor. Bed was soft and comfortable and linens were up to standard. Now the bad - I was disappointed that my request for early check-in was either lost or ignored but I also understand that sometimes that can't be accommodated and they did keep my luggage safe while I wandered the shopping area of Chelsea and got my business done until the standard check in time of 2pm. I was also surprised that the plumbing in the shower leaked... not profusely but there were things that could have been better. Hot water took a very, very, long time to get in the shower. The walls did seem a little thin. I was able to hear conversations in the hallway and was tempted to chime in as I suspect the participants were unaware they were being listened to. All in all a good place to stay and for the money I haven't found much better in central London. I wish good London hotels were easier to come by but there it is. BTW... the free internet was actually pretty good. For the first time in a long time I was pleasantly surprised with the speed and ease of access. Collapse

Booked for dinner and an overnight stay for my wife's birthday and found much to be lacking in this hotel, considering its profile and price-point. The restaurant is in a pokey basement with poor lighting and dinner took two hours to get through even though there were only three occupied tables that evening. Food was ok but unimaginative and certainly seemed over-priced even by Belgravia standards. The room was comfortable enough but we narrowly avoided a serious accident when we discovered the bathroom hot and cold taps had been wrongly labelled, resulting in scalding hot water hitting you when you least expected it. We raised a complaint when we checked out the following morning and the usual noises were made about being sorry and keen to take action, but it's telling that there's be absolutely no follow up from hotel management since then. Disappointing service for a hotel that can leave you with not much change out of £1000 for one night's stay... Collapse

Spent two nights with my wife. We received an upgrade to luxury room (a very warm welcome). The hotel is a small, quaint manor full of history and character. Personnel polite (in particular the Portuguese gentleman) and efficient. The room was spacious (compared to London standards) and impeccably prepared. Nice bathrobes and plenty of water (still and sparkling). Air conditioning perfect. Nice toiletries also. Although ancient, the lift works well and provides a unique experience. The drawing room is also noteworthy. Bed: very comfy and wonderful, fluffy pillows Internet was good, but there is room for improvement (mediocre speed). Breakfast: cost-benefit not so good. Average offer, limited fruits selection, not so great variety of bread, warm dishes (rather small portions, albeit very well presented). Quite expensive, though. My suggestion is to go to "Colbert" (very close) or Tom's Kitchen, which is 15-minute walk (same price, much higher quality, much nicer settings). Colbert is fantastic and the "latte" served is simply superb. Highly recommended for couples. Collapse

Can't beat the location. The property is quaint in an old country manor type way with nice seating areas around the lobby. Staff was very good and friendly also. However the rooms were an extreme let down and completely different from how they have advertised it. Chipped and old furniture, tiny size (which we had anticipated to be fair). The bathrooms were quite horrible with rust and really poor finishing. The first room they put us in had zero sunlight, and the mattress was also dipping in the middle giving the feel that it was 10 years old. Then we moved to another (smaller) room that was a bit better, but still quite old furniture and mold in the bathroom. Made us feel uncomfortable every time we had to use it. They try and position it as Small Luxury but really better off at some of the other options in the area which are cleaner and still boutiquey. Collapse

We booked a two night stay in May in order to attend the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Friendly greeting on arrival with comfortable chairs to sit in at the check in desk rather than having to stand at a counter. Cold bottled water was afford as soon as we sat down. Much appreciated on a very warm day. Well appointed room. Clean and comfortable. The hotel fronts on a quiet street and we were not troubled by traffic noise. Breakfast was excellent. The library lounge has a fascinating array of old books available to peruse. Only one detail detracted from our room - the balcony was fronted by a wooden frame covered with artificial greenery which was probably attractive enough when installed but was badly weather worn and coming adrift. Looked a bit shabby and should either be refurbished or completely removed. We took advantage of the key to Cadogan Gardens which is available and enjoyed a quiet stroll around a little oasis of green in the midst of the busy metropolis. Restaurants and shopping all within an easy walk. If you like a bit of an "Olde England" vibe to your stay in London, 11 Cadogan Gardens is a fine alternative to a glitzy modern chain hotel. Good value in my estimation. Collapse
