We stayed two nights here. Our room on the 5th floor is clean with modern-style decoration. The beds are a little hard for me. The reception was ok but too business-like for my taste. There was no water cooker in our room but our friends had one in their room. This was quickly solved after we informed the hotel staff. However our friends had problem with hot water every night. They had to wait 5 minutes for hot water but we didn't have any problem with taking a shower. The strange thing is that our rooms are next to each other. The breakfast buffet was pretty good, many fresh ingredients and local food. There are no direct bus connection from the hotel to downtown so the only publish transportation for tourists is the metro. It is 7-10 minutes walk. For a city trip this hotel met our needs. Collapse

The hotel is very contemporary and rooms are newly decorated in a modern style. We were on the 5th floor at the front, which had a lovely view over the city. The windows are double glazed and the road outside is quiet at night, so the room was quiet. The walls are well insulated too, we didn't hear any other occupants. Toiletries were supplied and there is a mini bar/fridge, hair drier, shower/ bath, air conditioning and a TV. Very clean and tidy. Breakfast was served in the dining room, buffet style. A good selection of cold and 3 hot items, which were bacon, scrambled eggs and some days beans/mushrooms/cheesy courgettes. The fruit varied each day. Lots of pastries, cake and bread, as well as yogurt, cold meat and cheese, cereal etc. Staff were friendly, English speaking and attentive. 30 minutes walk down hill to the city centre. 5 min walk to the nearest metro station (Saldanha). We bought 24 hour tickets travel tickets (metro/bus/tram) €6.15. Lisbon is very hilly, so you need to use public transport. Would recommend the takeaway pizza place (Leads Pizza) a block away. Also the burger place (Honorato Saldanha), which we discovered walking back from the metro station (Saldanha) was great. The best pub we experienced was 'Bar Foxtrot'. You need to ring the doorbell to be let in. Inside is styled like a speakeasy. Very laid back jazz, fireplaces and a chilled vibe. Bar staff and waiter were very friendly. Best food was a grilled chicken and ribs takeaway 'Frangasqueira Nacional', also try the rice (garlicy) and homemade crisps. Tram ride 28 is well worth it, but you need to queue. Lisbon has many art galleries. Most are free on the first Sunday of each month. We really enjoyed the 'Museu Colecao Berardo', which has a wide selection of contemporary art. The local Cherry liqueur 'Ginjinha' is a must to try in an edible chocolate cup. My partner had the best coffee he has every had at 'Brasileira do Chiado'. Lisbon is a great city, not commercialised, like other capital cities (no Starbucks etc), which is refreshing. Would wholly recommend. Collapse

We recently spend two nights in Lisbon and stayed at the Neva Lisboa. It's a short walk from the mail Pombal Square. We upgraded to a classic room for 15 Euro more each per night and were thrilled with our room. It was large, modern, clean and had beautiful city views. Breakfast we also quite good but the usual bread, meat, cheese that you expect in Portugal. The check in staff were extremely friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. I would highly recommend this hotel for value comfort and location. Collapse

Lovely welcome on a very wet Sunday. Room not ready on our arrival mid morning - fair enough but able to leave luggage securely. It seems the hotel was further in to the city centre than the 10 minute stroll indicated but we quickly sussed the local metro services which were both cheap and punctual and operated on a system like our UK Oyster prepaid travel cards, Lisbon is a beautiful city. We explored the city by 'hop on and off' tour busses, the famous wooden street trams and the more modern bus trams. You almost felt you were close to the coast yet in reality you were on the shores of the vast river Tagus. Belem is a must to visit. Another must is to visit the bustling food market and take in the atmosphere. Lisbon was getting ready with its Christmas decorations and although we left before they were lit I just know they would look stunning! Our hotel was very clean and comfortable and staff were very helpful at breakfast when catering for gluten free (many thanks to the waiter David!!). Would definitely consider returning as it was a very enjoyable stay Collapse
