I stayed here last March and returned last week when I visited my son again. Same wonderful staff, location, and price, although it was more expensive in September than March, which is to be expected. I was able to store my luggage without problem on three different days. However the hotel does charge now for internet which was previously included in the room price. Luckily I had brought a Verizon jetpack. The only sour note was the GoLink airport shuttle. I had booked a ride to JFK and the patient front desk person kept calling to check on its arrival. When it finally came 40 minutes late, the driver did not have me on his list and I had to make a mad dash for the subway to get to the airport on time. It's not a difficult procedure but nerve wracking at last minute. Collapse

Hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. There was a coffee maker, fridge and microwave. No safe. In terms of location it is perfect to the subway. The only letdown was having to pay extra for internet access

We stayed there for five nights while our trip to NYC. From the airport to the hotel it took us about 40 minutes with a cab on a saturday early afternoon. Price incl. tip, taxes etc. was ~70 $. We arrived at ~1:00 pm at the hotel but check in only started at 3:00 pm. But we could leave our luggage there and go outside heading towards Central Park. As we came back three hours later we could check in and the room was prepared. They promised to bring the luggage to the room. After being almost one hour on the room we still didn't get our luggage. After a short phone call it was finally brought to the room. They simply forgot about it. In general the reception staff seemed a bit bored and a bit bugged by the guests. For whatever reason. The cleaning staff was wonderful and really friendly. Thumbs up for that! As the room was to the backyard we didn't have a good view. Actually I wouldn't call it a view in general ;-) The room itself was clean, the bathroom also, but really small. It had an AC that was really loud when it was running. So having it running throughout the night definitely wouldn't work. The room was also equipped with a refrigerator, a TV, hair dryer etc. The fridge also got quite loud from time to time, but it was ok. The closet was very small. Actually only about the size of a big suitcase in width and double the height. The TV was a bit strange as it switched on automatically every morning but at completely different times. So it definitely wasn't a timer that has been set. Anyway, we always have been awake already so it didn't bother us much. The beds where quite comfortable but the mattresses creaked quite loud when moving in the bed ("normal" moving ;-)). The location of the hotel is quite good. The next subway station is just at the next corner serving routes 1 and 2&3 that bring you directly into downtown. Along the streets you'll find some supermarkets, cafes and restaurants. Also the whole area felt safe. We've paid ~800 Euro for two people for these 5 nights. Which is a good price for NYC. Actually we liked the hotel, but not as that much that it would be our first choice next time. Maybe on a better rate... But in general I wouldn't have a problem going there again. Unfortunately you can only give full points from 1 to 5 in TripAdvisor. If I could I'd like to give it 3.5. But as all was ok in general, we didn't have problems and still had a good time I give it 4. Collapse

If you are going to be using the subway a lot, this is the hotel! As you exit the 96th station you can see the hotel. Subway station has an elevator so it is great when travelling to and from the airport. In general, the hotel was clean, rooms a good size for Manhattan, coffeemaker, microwave, fridge in rooms. Lots of cafes and restaurants close by. Staff was nice. Bed was kind of noisy and outlets for recharging were few. It would have been nice to offer ice water in the lobby. There was noise from the street but our room was right on Broadway. We really enjoyed our stay here and will be back! Collapse

The hotel is in a good location, close to the Metro, Central Park and Riverside. The beds were uncomfortable, the mattress had a plastic cover, as in a gerontological center. The staff should be kinder.
