Stayed in the Newgrange hotel last weekend with a group of friends. Receptionists were very professional and friendly and made check-in hassle free. We went to watch the rugby match in the bar. It was a real treat. Food was excellent. Rooms were very clean. Free parking available. Central location in a lively part of town. Excellent hotel overall. Special mention for Tanya, who went above and beyond the call of duty by posting a half zip that I had left behind. We will definitely be back. Collapse

We have arrived in Navan at about seven in the evening with no real idea of where we were going to stay. As we drove through the city center we noticed the Newgrange. We looked it up and found an €88 per night room rate for three people on booking.com. I quickly went inside the hotel to see if that was the best rate and the best they could offer me was €109, but they didn't seem to have any problem with us booking online so we did so on the spot. Depending on the season, time of the week, and other factors such as promotions, the room rates vary from €69 on the low side to €180 on the high side. Checking for rates online appears to be your best bet. The hotel lobby consists of three very nicely appointed rooms that were cozy and welcoming. One was set up like a library complete with a fire in the fireplace. The room was large and well furnished, easily comparable to any Marriott or Hilton in the U.S. The room amenities were good with a full bathroom including bathtub and an adequate supply of high-quality towels. The Wi-Fi worked well. We had dinner in the restaurant/pub and the food was quite good. The hotel had covered parking in a garage but it was a very tight fit and somewhat difficult to get in and get out. The hotel evidently has convention and meeting facilities and apparently caters to a number of weddings. The breakfast was served buffet style with a complete and full Irish breakfast. There was a wide variety of baked goods as well as the various meats including bacon and sausage. Eggs were cooked to order if you wished. Ursula took very good care of us. This was the best breakfast we had of any place we stayed in Ireland. I would not hesitate to stay here again even at a higher room price than what I paid. Navan is a relatively short drive from the north of Dublin and is close to the hill of Tara and the Newgrange megalithic monuments. If you are planning to go see them get there when they open at 9:30 to book your tour as tours fill up quickly. Be sure to set your navigation system to the visitor center and not the monument, because you cannot buy access at the monument site. Collapse

From the day we arrived @ the wedding fair to the day after our wedding we're treated with the utmost respect & in an extremely professional manner. The staff, the food, the ceremony suite the music, the function room, the garden above where we had our pictures taken, everything was absolutely perfect. Both my wife & I are from Navan so it made sense to have our ceremony & wedding in the one venue so our guests didn't have to travel & they could just arrive, relax, have a drink & enjoy! The function room in the Newgrange is second to none, extremely spacious beautifully finished decor & with the choice of coloured lighting just made it perfect for us. All the feedback we've gotten from our guests was very positive & every one of them had a brilliant day & loved the fact they didn't have to travel from Church to hotel. Both Carolines, David & all the girlies as Caroline calls them worked very hard for us on the day & every one of them did a great job. If you're considering the Newgrange for your wedding you will not be disappointed. Thank You all very much for making our wedding day a day we will cherish forever. (PS) The new menu in Restaurant/bar is well worth a visit. David & Deirdre. Collapse
