Stayed recently for a work event. Location was convenient to much good food and to my work location. Hotel sleep was a good experience on a comfortable bed in a VERY quiet room even being somewhat near the elevators. We had an ok view. Staff were nice enough to check us in early and give us a high floor. Also parking was right at the hotel. We also were allowed a late checkout. Rooms were clean. We didn't eat here but did stop in the bar area which was busy each night. Collapse

Used my points for a 5 night stay in N.Y. The staff was very accommodating and the view from my room was awesome; Brooklyn Bridge and skyline. Breakfast in the M Club was so, so but was included in my rate. The room was a nice size, but the pillows were those awful, thin pillows. The bed itself was very comfy. No long waits for the elevators. Collapse

Staff very nice, but was disappointed that the room with a King bed was not available at check in time, which was late 4 pm. We were told that we could wait for the room, but no eta. was given since we had to get ready to leave at 5, we took the room w/ 2 double beds. The room was clean, but furniture very scratched & dated. No fan in bathroom, always a shock, only one thermal cup for the coffee in the am. So okay, but we ended up sleeping separately in order to sleep well. I had also requested a room away ( few doors ) from the elevator and they apparently thought I wanted one 1 door away. So we heard people coming in during the night, something I was trying to avoid. I also would have appreciated in their information a statement saying that if we wanted to use Netflix,HBO etc. we would need our passwords to log in.Then a false fire alarm went off at 2 am, we were grabbing clothes when we got an announcement that there was an apparent power outage on our floor only and they would try and rectify asap. It took quite a few min. for the alarm to shut off and another 5 for the strobe to stop. I realize the fire alarm was not anyone's fault, but it certainly didn't add to the experience. It was a nice option to check out and have your bags held, so you could walk around. Though I was given different times on phone 2 pm must leave and 4 pm at the desk. Collapse

I last stayed here in 2013, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I had always intended to come back, but circumstances made it more convenient for me to stay in Manhattan my subsequent trips here. With those circumstances gone, I wanted to come back here. I was not disappointed. While I am an elite Marriott Rewards member, I booked a 10 day total stay through an opaque Priceline booking. It was such a great deal, I thought I would forgo the elite benefits and just accept what I would get at the hotel upon check in. A staffer at another Marriott hotel in Toronto suggested that I call the hotel ahead of time and ask them to link my Marriott account to the reservation. That was such a wonderful idea. When I came to this hotel, the staff couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful. I was checked in by Agnes, who noted my elite status, and said I had been assigned an upgraded suite. While I would have preferred a single bed suite as opposed to the two doubles in my room, she said I would be happy with my room. She wasn't wrong. The 15th floor suite was clean, spacious, and extremely comfortable. When we left, Agnes recognized me from check in, and graciously extended our check out time to 4 pm, which accommodated a later flight out of LaGuardia. The staff was also extremely helpful in other ways. When my wife arrived a few days after I did, her luggage didn't make it with her. The bell desk was very gracious in calling us while we were out to let us know that her luggage had arrived. The men who worked the front entrance were helpful in hailing cabs and suggesting ways to get around and good restaurants around the area. We used the M Lounge on a daily basis. It was a fantastic perk to have as an elite Marriott member. While the breakfast was repetitive (the same pastries and muffins every day, along with scrambled eggs, egg white omelette, hash browns, bacon, and a non-pork protein), it was delicious and definitely appreciated. Also having an espresso machine, coolers stocked with juices and sodas, along with the filtered water machine, we utilized the lounge everyday. We only dropped in once during the evening cocktail and hors d'oeurves session, and there were tasty nibblies and a variety of alcoholic drinks available through the honour bar. Again, the location of the hotel was fantastic. Much quieter than Manhattan, and access to Manhattan was easy. There are no fewer than 8 different subway lines within a short walk from the hotel you could access (A, C, F, R, 2, 3, 4, 5) at either the Jay Street-Metrotech or Borough Hall stations. There were no shortage of restaurants in the area to frequent, and the area along Fulton Street had several shopping choices. We are looking forward to our next trip to New York. I am pretty sure we will be using this hotel as our home base again. Collapse

This hotel always feels a bit like an expensive hostel, full of young travellers and groups, always coming and going at all times if the day. It feels quite basic for the cost but I've nothing else to compare it to in NY. It's a great location for the office and I did like the pool which is a good size to actually get a decent swim. I asked for a quiet room which was on the 25th floor - it was huge and had an amazing view. I think it was more modern than comfy but had everything i needed and the quick breakfast at the coffee bar was decent. Collapse
