I returned to the New York Hilton Midtown this month after having last stayed here about 3 years ago. I have been to NY many times throughout the years. Usually at least once sometimes twice a year I spend a weekend in NY with friends and/or family to see a show or two and just experience the New York City vibe. I had a great experience at this property on this trip. As a Diamond member, they upgraded me to a very nice King bed room. The room was clean, everything worked, the bedding was great, and it was also quiet so I could get some sleep after enjoying a great day experiencing the city. My friend and I stayed here on a Saturday night. The Hotel is definitely very busy. It has a main entrance area which is always filled with people. What's really great about this property is the location. Not far from this Hotel is Central Park, the Theater District, Times Square, and the MOMA. Also, right in the area you are staying are some of the best restaurants in the city. Regardless of whether your just looking for a couple of slices of great pizza, amazing Thai or Chinese food, or whatever cuisine your hungry for it is all there in the neighborhood. I recommend Pure Thai Cookhouse if you want an amazing Thai food experience or Becco for a great Italian meal in the Theater district. You also aren't far from Rockefeller center if you want go check out the Tree which we did. You just might want to go later in the evening though rather than earlier to avoid the very busy tourist crowds this year. We ate breakfast at the Hotel on Sunday and although it was a little pricey at $45 per person (you have to expect it for being in NY), the food was great. I ordered an omelette at the omelette station and the chef doing the cooking was brilliant. He made me one of the best omelettes I've had in a while and the buffet has everything else you could want for a great breakfast. My friend also had an omelette which she really enjoyed. If you want another great breakfast suggestion check out Sarabeth's Central Park South. The food there is always great especially if you love a great cup of coffee and great eggs. I thought the staff at the Hilton was very professional and I really liked that anytime I needed something for my room, I was able to call customer service and they brought it right away. The Wi-Fi also worked pretty good. If you are a Hilton Elite member like me, they also have a great Executive lounge that is stocked with cold water bottles and they provide continental breakfast, snacks and cookies later in the day and hors-d-oeuvres around happy hour. Bottom line, if you are in NY and need a great place to recharge your batteries after a day of experiencing the city that also has great food and drink options. the NY Hilton Midtown would be a great choice. The hotel is located on the Avenue of the Americas (6th Ave.)between W. 53rd and W. 54th streets. It is located in walking distance of MOMA ( located on W. 53rd St.), Radio City Music Hall( located 4 blocks on the Avenue of the Americas (6th Ave) and W. 50th streets. Rockefeller Center and the Top of the Rock are also located across the street from Radio City Music Hall on W. 50th street. Trump Tower is located on W. 56th and 5th Avenue if you fancy a walk to see it. However, be aware that the area is heavily secured, and traffic near the Hilton is equally heavy due to the security on surrounding streets in the vicinity of Trump Tower. There are lots of eateries, in addition to retail stores. There are numerous subway stops in the area that will take you downtown, uptown, and in between. Also, Broadway is but a short walking distance, but remember New York has long city blocks! The Hilton Midtown is located in an excellent location for attending the theater, sight seeing, museum visits, shopping, and just relaxing. The room I stayed in was nicely appointed (Premier)and clean; additionally the floor was quiet too. The hotel staff was polite and accommodating. This was only my second stay at this Hilton property and I enjoyed it. Because it is the largest Hilton property, check-in can be a bit hectic, but there are signs to direct you during this process if you're a Hilton Honors member, or if you're just a fellow traveler checking in. It moves fairly quick. The hotel is pricey in terms of room rates, but depending on when you're visiting you may get a bargain. I used points. Again, it's a nice hotel and convenient to Broadway, shopping, and whatever it is you are in New York to do! Collapse

Our room was clean, it was on the parade route. After the parade the elevators were packed and slow. Yes I would stay again. GREAT location. The café had good food. Never could get the internet to work.

Generous Hilton for elite members

Hilton is so generous to their at least Gold members. You are allowed access to their executive lounge and get upgraded as soon a higher level of room is available. Nice to be loyal to this Hilton group of hotels.
