Nice front desk service (Vicki)

I checked in after a long flight and the front desk was very nice (Vicki). My room was clean and modern, and the price was very reasonable. And, the location in midtown is great (and right across the Street from the subway station).

I stay on this hotel at least six times s year and I booked directly through Hilton as an Honors Member. The person who checked me in gave me a room by the elevator and ice maker- uh- hello? What about customer loyalty? She should have done better. When I complained she was nasty. The next person who helped was Swapna who was totally accommodating and professional- upgraded me and went out of her way to give good service. Treating a regular client as I was treated as an Honors member should have been better. Not sure about staying here again. Collapse

The room was very nice and not “dated” like some of the reviews I had read. There were plenty of outlets in the room contrary to a review I read before booking. The bed was super comfy but if you like firm pillows I suggest you bring your own, the ones provided are comfy but very soft. We had a nice huge flat screen in the room also. Everything was very clean and tidy. My only issue would be that coffee should be provided in the rooms. The location was excellent! There is some great places to dine within walking distance. Dos Camino has the best chicken enchiladas and they are only about two blocks over. Times Square is within walking distance but it’s not too close so you don’t have to deal with too much commotion. I know that I have done several reviews on the Doubletree Metropolitan Hotel however, I was just there again March 8, 2018 For the past 10/11 years I have been visiting NY City two to 3 times a year. I thought the Doubletree was perfect the first time but it seems every visit is better then the one before.....if that's possible. I truly believe that the staff there cares so much about making your stay perfect, they all go out of their way to be friendly and to make your visit perfect. When you arrive you are greeted by Julio or Reggie. Both are always smiling and if this isn't your first trip there they always seem to remember you and always say "WELCOME BACK". As I went into the lobby I was so happy to see that Brian was able to be back at work. Marcelo was there with his big smile, he is wonderful and makes you feel like you are seeing a friend. They are happy to help you with your luggage or by answering any questions you might have. When you go to Guest Services in the lobby always look for Vicki. She is wonderful, and will remind you to call her if you need anything. Vicki always goes above and beyond for you. And she means it. I always call it my "home away from home" because the people at the Doubletree Metropolitan become friends, they truly care about your stay and want you to be happy. Marcelo even keeps me up to date on his daughter in college. If you need anything from administratIon just go to the 2nd. floor and ask for Leilani. She is happy to help you or answer any questions for you. They say location is the main thing and believe me you could not find a better location. You can walk to Central Park, Times Square, great stores for shopping, wonderful restaurants . If you want to go somewhere and don't feel like walking the trains are right there for you to get to your destination. The hotel has their own restaurant, I love their breakfast. There is a business office for you to use if needed. The Doubletree has a great bar where you can relax and have a drink, watch TV or just visit others. There is a gym on the 2nd floor. The rooms are large, clean and with beautiful views of the city. When you go out for awhile you come back to a perfect room. Housekeeping is right there to take care of you. They are all so very nice and sweet. There is a gift shop with beautiful things you can purchase for yourself or to being home to friends and family. I know I will never stay at any other hotel while visiting New York City. AND I DON'T WANT TO FORGET ABOUT THOSE AMAZING CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES. I always seem to ask for more and they are happy to give them to you. I like staying in a place where I feel happy and comfortable and that is what the staff at The Doubletree Metropolitan does for you. What more could you want. Perfect location, wonderful people to welcome you, beautiful rooms. Try it, I am sure you will agree. I am already planning my next trip there. Collapse
