We enjoyed our experience here. The location is away from the hustle and bustle of the old city, but has convenient close access. The views are amazing from comfortable, clean rooms. There's a lavish breakfast by any standards included in your rate. Great beach access, with chairs and towels, lovely infinity pools, gym, and helpful staff complete the package. I can’t say enough about this experience. My boat tour with Boat Ragusa was a great thing to do on my second day. Rob was an incredible host and tour guide. Took his guests to all the best spots, including swimming in a cave and a really great restaurant for lunch called Hotel Božica. Rob was attentive, considerate, knowledgeable, kind and fun. Highly recommend this tour, I arrived exhausted and early in the morning after travelling overnight and had no sleep so I ordered room service on my first day. The burger that came to my room...omg. Seriously the best burger I’ve ever had in my life and the bun was something I’ve never tasted anywhere. The meat definitely tastes better there. Also I only had to wait an hour for my room (I enjoyed coffee sitting outside overlooking the water while I waited) which I was able to enter at 10am! I was greeted by the most pleasant and professional staff. My room was as pristine and perfect as it gets. The views from my balcony were insane. Gorgeous bathroom and shower....all very modern. Everywhere I went in the hotel, the staff was always top notch and I was actually sad to leave a few of them. Kind, warm and professional. Everything was easily accessible ie: getting to the water, the spa, the restaurants, the pools, the bars,... Collapse

Our room was Ocean Front and the View was awesome! Our room was spacious and well appointed, and the bed was king size and comfortable, the pillows more than adequate! Breakfast was included and the buffet was quite good, with my complaint that the coffee from the machine was not very good, and the filtered coffee was way to strong and muddy or lukewarm... Otherwise we enjoyed the oatmeal and cereals, the eggs and bacon, the fruit was ripe and delicious and the setting overlooking the Sea was perfect! What I also liked about this hotel was the location! Close enough to walk to numerous other restaurants and shops, plus the bus stops right outside the hotel so it was very easy to get around without a car! I would recommend that if you are visiting the walled city, to get the Dubrovnik Card, which includes entry to the wall inside the walled city, a bus ticket good for several rides and a special bus ticket to Cavtat, a charming city on the ocean, about a 40 minute bus ride from the Neptun Hotel! I noticed that rather than being helpful to guests the front desk staff in the hotel chatted among themselves a lot or kept their heads down staring at the screen of their computer screens! Not much interest in guests and nothing personal or memorable about them! On the other hand the concierge or tour desk personnel were very kind and helpful, and made our stay much more enjoyable. Of course they were selling things too, but they were helpful anyway, without us buying anything and just answering our questions! They made some great recommendations for dinner and each one of their suggestions proved to be excellent! Collapse

We booked The Neptun based on it's proximity to Dubrovnik, the airport and it's wonderful reviews. We were not disappointed. We had a huge end room with an extra dressing area on the 5th floor overlooking the ocean. The panoramic views were astounding. We stayed for 8 days and wanted to completely relax & unwind. We didn't go on any of the many trips advertised although fellow guests who did, highly recommended the speedboat Island hopping excursion (for maximum 12 people) which was (they said) really something special. The hotel staff were all (without exception) very helpful & knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. We were really impressed with the wonderful customer service everywhere we visited, but especially at La Castille restaurant (in the Royal Princess Hotel) one of The Neptun's sister hotels. There are 5 hotels in the 'Importanne resort' and guests of all these hotels can use all the facilities of each. This ensured that none of the facilities we used ever felt busy or over crowded. We visited the incredible 'Infinity' pool on the rooftop of The Royal Blue Hotel on a number of occasions and were very often the only people using this amazing pool. Just felt very exclusive. The bus to Dubrovnik was very convenient and accessible just across the road from the Hotel. It does get VERY crammed the nearer you get to Dubrovnik but is only a 15 minute journey. It's 'a must' to visit Dubrovnik old town. The shiny marble cobbled streets and beautiful buildings really are spectacular. There are hundreds & hundreds of restaurants.....making it almost impossible to choose where to eat! A really lovely atmosphere and hard to think that this beautiful walled city was almost completely devastated by the civil war in the 1990's. We ate at La Castille, Restaurant Casa (a short walk from our hotel along the scenic coastal path to Lapad resort) in Dubrovnik at an incredible Sushi restaurant, and at Komin restaurant near to The Neptun. All the food we ate was wonderful but it is very expensive to eat out and some of the local wines were extortionate. Porsip (pronounced Porship) which was recommended to us, was £50 a bottle in one of the restaurants we ate at. We were genuinely surprised at the cost of eating out and many other guests also commented on this. The buffet breakfast each morning was great with a huge choice (even champagne) definitely something for everyone, breakfast can be enjoyed 'al fresco' which we loved. A very relaxed affair and there was also a fresh omelette bar available. We had a cocktail at The Cave Bar en route back along the coastal path from Lapad, a wonderful location on the waterfront and also visited 'On the rocks' outside The Neptun down by the sea, a very nice place to enjoy a cocktail after dinner with the sound of the waves crashing just a few metres away. We had a choice of 9 or 10 swimming pools to use across the resort and sadly, didn't get the opportunity to try them all. They all looked wonderful and two of them were sea water pools, down by the beach area, which were refilled daily. There is not a sandy beach at this resort. The beach area is in fact completely concreted with the original rocks still in situ having had concrete poured around them, creating many 'higgeldy piggeldy' sunbathing areas along the front of the resort with a number of metal steps and handrails allowing access into the sea. There are lots of loungers & parasols (enough for everyone) and beach guards on duty. The sea is stunning but can be very choppy and if the red flag is flying it is not advisable to swim. Beach towels are provided for everyone. The Adriatic is crystal clear and we both swam in the sea whilst on holiday which was lovely. We found Croatia to be very much like Italy in its landscape. We really enjoyed our time spent at The Neptun Hotel, in Dubrovnik and in Croatia. We recharged our batteries and totally relaxed....waking up to 'THAT' view every morning was a real tonic and stepping out onto the glass balustraded balcony with nothing by sparkling ocean, blue skies and mountains with cypress trees stretching into the distance was simply breathtaking. We definitely plan to return and explore a bit more of this beautiful country. Tip: book a private airport taxi transfer through the hotel, around £36 each way but well worth it. Collapse
