I recently had the opportunity to stay at this resort with friends on a golfing weekend. The resort has a beautiful layout – the golf course (and the spa) are located across the street from the main resort building (the street is not very busy). The resort itself looks out upon the Gulf of Mexico and provides a beautiful ocean view from a very nice beach with soft sand. There are a couple of different outlying buildings in addition to accommodations in the main building and several different parking lots. My room overlooked a grassy square although I could see the ocean if I went out onto the balcony. The room was okay – nothing spectacular. The bed was comfortable. But, the room was dark – even with the blinds open all the way. For my building, you needed a key card to enter the building but during the day, it would have been a simple matter to enter the building when someone was entering or exiting the structure. The golf course was in good condition although the bunkers were in desperate need of sand. My bunker shots brought up clay on a couple of occasions. Greens were a bit difficult to read. The pro shop was well stocked and the staff were all very friendly. Collapse
Great location, mediocre everything else

I will start with the great stuff. Super convenient location. About 1 mile from 5th ave, easy driving around and to and from, easy to park and repark. Great little cafe in the front of the hotel for breakfast food and other yummy stuff. Pool is fine, beach is fabulous and easy to get to! They have chaise rentals for $12.50 per day. Drinks at bar are ok, bartenders are friendly. Food at bar is good. Restaurant menu is limited at HB's but view of the gulf is lovely. Turn down service in the room is nice. Golf shop is nice and staff there is great. Denise was especially sweet. Overall service is really lacking except for the valet and bellman guys, they are warm and welcoming. Front desk staff is unimpressive. Our room had no soap upon arrival and the door to the bathroom didn't stay open, so annoying. A plate of dirty dishes sat outside our neighbors room for 2 days. The gym is terrible, very disappointing. It's very small for such a large resort and the weights are separated from cardio equipment. Both rooms are set on 72 degrees and again, no soap in the bathroom. No earbuds for guests and the second day, no towels. Music in the weight room is spa music!!!!!! Who wants to hear that while working out?? No one! The biggest issue I must share is that the hotel did not tell us about a free music event that would be held during our stay. The event was on the lawn in front our room. About 1200 people. Further, they didn't tell us that 2 corporate parties would take place at our door, making it so that our chairs were unavailable and there was noise and guests beyond midnight. This was all literally in our hallway and our room was smack dab in between two parties. How could the hotel not tell us? And further, not give us the option for a room away from these corporate functions? Quite unacceptable. We expressed some polite frustration with the front desk and they showed no concern at all and asked if I called security to report noise. I didn't really think it was our job to police a planned party. Hotel is conveniently located and set up is very good. Service is disappointing. I don't think I would go back, given a comparable option. Collapse
Nice, quiet and clean

I was greeted at the porte cochere by the valet who welcomed me and directed me to the front desk. "Sir, just leave your car right there" The front desk clerks were friendly and helpful and I was checked in quickly. I was given directions to my "wing" of the hotel and how to use the key card to open the gate. Be careful...if you need assistance with luggage, be advised that some of the buildings do not have elevators! I have a metal knee and don't like to push it but..it works out for me. What I don't like about the resort is the "nickle and dime" you to death. For $300/night, I expect free wifi! For $300/night, I expect the use of a beach chair and towels. Now, I did get turn down service with a chocolate mint! My room was spotless and very comfortable. Parking can be a bit dicey when the resort is full. There are more rooms than parking slots! Friendly staff all around. Beautiful beach, too! Collapse
Disappointing to say the least

Came for a 10 day stay for hubbys special birthday, we have visited Naples several times but was recommended here for the location, which don't get me wrong is great but so disappointed with the staff and facilities ... one bar which was outside ... mozzies a nuisance constantly after the recent wet weather no warning given as we found out after being bad bitten on our first night ... was then told by other guest's the hotel weren't spraying enough and they had also been bitten..., the adult pool is like a bathtub never seen such a small pool at a hotel with so many rooms, the child pool larger just but lots of children staying so was always busy...couldn't have a decent swim in either.... ok the beach is there but don't want to swim in it ... brochure states lobby bar open at weekends out of season... no it doesn't .. beautiful space to have a drink but they charge $8 to deliver a drink from the beach bar !!! Reception staff were the worst I've encountered not welcoming and lacked customer service skills whether this is because the hotel is on the market or just that the turnover seems to be a lot ... $10 a day wifi charge is laughable and I wasn't paying ... never paid for wifi in a so called 4 star hotel ... just ridiculous ... the 2 stars are for the valet lads always welcoming and helpful ... and the young kids in the coffee shop who knew who you were after 2 days and were always pleasant ... room kept clean and tidy .... wish we could have moved but sadly finances couldn't accomodate going to another hotel or we would have gone back to either the edgewater or up the road to the Hyatt at estero ... on another note we noticed that the beach bar was always scruffy lots of litter flying around and was surprised it wasn't picked up but was on the beach and also plastic straws used.... surely environmentally as lots of hotels have done along the beach these are no longer used ... sad to say we love Naples but this hotel wouldn't warrant a trip from England again ... sooooo disapppinted Collapse
Nice hotel, even better beach!

We stayed at the Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club for a family wedding. We were originally booked in the main building, "The Tower" but found that those rooms have a port hole in the wall with no shade over it. Sure enough, first thing in the morning our room was flooded with light. The front desk was very accommodating and moved us to the "Watkins" tower which is much newer and no port hole! The grounds are very nice with two excellent pools right on the beach. The beach is fantastic and the water warm and shallow. Collapse
