went here for long weekend with nephews aged 11 and 14. rained the whole time more or less so did spoil things a bit. we enjoyed going to the myramar mall next to hotel. massive place with lots of shops and places to eat. nephews went go karting there which is on the roof top and that was the highlight of the holiday. they loved it. we went a walk to the near by castle and along the beachfront. hotel was ok. it was very clean and the staff were all nice especially the cleaners. I took my youngest nephew to the indoor pool twice but there was always elderly people moaning about other people in the pool. a heated argument actually started whilst we were in the pool between and elderly man and woman,he wasn't happy she wouldn't swim around the pool instead of doing lengths!!! we got out just after that happened as it ruined the atmosphere. if got a good price would possibly stay there again but only in summer time as a bit of a walk to the beach etc and not situated in a great place when raining all the time. I know when I book anything I do check the reviews but tend to avoid the negative ones if their not the majority and I really must stop that!!!!! There was nine of us including kids .We found the hotel to be clean apartments spacious and cleaned daily The lobby and dining room have been modernised unlike many rooms .What's wrong very, very wrong with this hotel is its attempt to charge for almost everything.Things that In other 3 star hotels are free .Take swimming caps as the charge is 4 euro each adds up when there is 9 people then they charge 5 euros to use the jacuzzi even if its a ten minute dip as it was for most. Baring in mind the jaccuzi is next to the pool and its February and fairly cold (so very little to do) so its something to kill time .The sauna is 2 euro daily .Tennis courts can be hired for one hour for a non refundable 10 euros plus 10 euro deposit. Two outdoor weather beaten pool tables 2 euros a game missing balls and broken cues. Its clear they are trying to recoup the cost of refurb by over charging for everything including food 5 euros for a portion of chips 8 for a salad .We ate breakfast there and had an evening meal the buffet is okay snacks are not .I know there are loads of places to eat but sometimes you don t want to venture out when it's bucketing down. The vending machines for cola ect get switched off if the bars open as its obviously more expensive. You go on holiday knowing things cost but these are facilities. There was no entertainment no atmosphere nothing for adults or children to do (you know your bored when hangman seems a fun option) of course we all made the best of it but in truth that was regardless of hotel not because of it.Its certainly one of the worst we've stayed in.I think that all the charges are so off putting and in our cases unusual you have paid for the holiday so stop being so bloody greedy Myramar in the long run visitors just Wont return when they realise to enjoy the basic facilities you need your money constantly out and hotels of the same standard in the area are not exploiting people I'm sure in summer the pool is great but that goes for any hotel in the sunshine! true let Down .Think twice Collapse

Stopped here the week before Christmas. On arrival it was very quiet so check in was quick. We were in block c (I think) and had a balcony which had the sunshine all day. The room was clean and tidy. The TV had Bbc one, itv etc which was a bonus and the wifi was brilliant. It was a bit late and since the children (5yr, 3yr and 5 month old) were tired, we decided to have a quick dinner in the onsite restaurant. The 3yr old ate free which was a bonus. The food was nice and a buffet style but there wasn't that much choice. The bill with soft drinks came to almost €50 which I thought was a bit on the expensive side so we are elsewhere for the rest of the week. We walked into the main centre on the first day along the beach which was a long walk but nice. A lot of bars and restaurants were open. The weather was pleasant. We paid for a taxi back which was about €8. The shopping centre opposite the hotel is a godsend. There's food supermarket inside and a primark if you forget anything! The children used the small playground within the hotel which kept them entertained. We also used the swimming pool (take your own swimming hats to save on the €4 charge) but there was no shallow end so it wasn't really suitable for us plus there wasn't adequate changing rooms. We booked a trip to Gibraltar through the hotel which was a lovely day out. We also booked the zoo through the hotel. The hotel charged a lot cheaper than the tour operator. We had breakfast in the restaurant on the last day which was ok but again the price is higher than eating out. What spoilt it for us at the hotel was the other guests having a very loud party in the room on Christmas Eve. I called down to reception about 1am who stated that they would send someone over to look into the matter. The music did stop for a short while but then started up again with loud shouting and screaming. I called down to reception again at 2am to be told there was nothing they could do about it as it's Christmas Eve and that I should speak to the manager in the morning. We left very early the following morning so I felt it was pointless and something should have been done there and then, not the following day! I wouldn't return to this hotel again due to the location and reduced facilities during the low season however I wouldn't mark them down because of this as I knew before I went, it's just that the holiday was at such a good price I couldn't refuse!
