All staff pleasant helpful & friendly. Very dog & children orientated but as we like both they brought a smile to our face.Wished we could have brought resident dog Snoopy home with us. We took our 18 month old twins to Moonfleet for 2 nights and they had a brilliant time. There is so much for kids to do there and we were all made to feel very welcome from all the staff. The crèche was fantastic and although ours didn't last very long (clingy son) we were made to feel very welcome to stay with them and use all the facilities, which they just loved. The huge indoor play area is amazing, especially for winter breaks, with a fenced off soft play area for little ones. The only thing that would make this better is to have some board or Perspex in the rails dividing the tables from the play area as there is a big drop!! It was great that you could order tea and coffee so we spent a lot of time here relaxing. The restaurant was brilliant on the whole. The staff were amazing and again very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The little details did not go unnoticed like plastic plates etc for children at breakfast and their own juice!!! Breakfast was incredible and plentiful. The granola was lush- what was it?? And plenty to choose from for babies/children of all ages!! My little girl decided that she would like watermelon and sausages!!! It went down very well- but she won't eat her porridge at home now!! Lunch again was delicious, reasonably priced and not at all fancy which is exactly what we were looking for. Dinner, however, was disappointing. And we chose to eat out on our second night which was a shame as we hoped to take advantage of the baby listening. We both had the beef pave, which came very rare despite asking for medium/well. It came with a puree veg thing and 3 tiny new potatoes. The gravy was very watery too. My husband gave up on his tiny portion (very unlike him as it was too tough and raw). Such a shame as the other meals were incredible!! And there was nothing on the desert menu that either of us fancied. The rooms are well equipped. We were in Trenchard and it was lovely. No sea view though, which was disappointing as was one of the most expensive rooms and we paid full price. The beds were massive and very very comfortable. There was tvs and dvd players in both bedrooms and wooden cots with bedding provided. Loved the toiletries too, and the bathroom was very luxurious. Just a note- might be better to have a higher table in the room with kettle and tea making facilities to make it completely toddler friendly. Maybe have the phones slightly higher aswell- apologies if any residents/reception got any phone calls from our son!!! We are members of Woolley grange so were expecting great things and were not disappointed. A special thanks to the night manager who turned on baby listening at 6am, and made us a pot of tea so we didn't wake the babies. He was only too happy to make us feel comfortable in our pjs on the great big sofas in the lounge. Collapse

Me,my wife, and Tuco the Chihuahua stayed for 3 nights in February.Recommended as being 'pet friendly' it certainly was ! A really warm welcome from friendly staff who were willing to help with everything. I doesn't matter here if the weather is unpleasant as there is plenty to do,with indoor swimming pool ,snooker rooms and comfortable and spacious lounges. As it happens the weather was fine for our trip and there are walks with plenty of great scenery straight from the hotel. Our room (Halvera) was 'basic' with a really good bathroom - featuring a good size corner bath which was big enough for me for a change - rarely found in hotels these days. Could be a bit noisy at night with the cistern from the next room quite loud when operated, but didn't in any way spoil our stay. The food, both breakfast and dinner was top quality, couldn't fault anything, including the service. Lovely building, great food and top service - a rare combination it seems - not cheap, but worth the money - we'll definitely return. . Collapse

Great location alongside Chesil Beach. Lot of facilites for children including a massive "hangar" with everything for children from table tennis through to a climbing wall. Staff were uniformly v helpful. Good food. Rooms fine even if a bit worn. The hotel probably works best for children up to 10? The only omision from the offering is the lack of a gym for the parents.. Our family group had a most enjoyable stay. Collapse

My husband, 2 year old and I have just returned from this amazing hotel and I am wondering if the negative reviews are from the same hotel. I cannot recommend this hotel or the staff enough. I think poor mark or high five as my son called him was driven insane but he is an asset to the hotel service nothing was too much. All the staff who worked whilst we were there made our stay and my son's birthday extra special Thank you x Collapse
