The hotel pool is under renovations and not open and they are starting on room renovations......the staff is good there but there are better choices in Vegas at this time...once renovations are done I'd recommend this property. I'd stay again!

I was worried about staying here from the negative reviews I had read, especially about cigarettes. My husband and I both hate the smell of cigarette smoke, and yes, we went to Vegas. I read that the rooms smelt like them and the casino. Wow, were these reviews the exact opposite. We were given a room on the 26th floor, facing the New York Park. Our room, smelt nothing of cigarette smoke. In fact, all their rooms are non-smoking. The casino did not smell of cigarettes, it actually had a scent that flowed through the casino that was rather delightful. The only time I smelt cigarettes was when someone was sitting close by. Other hotel casinos were horrible with cigarette smoke. I'd say Monte Carlo was the best for not having to smell it. The Construction: The lobby is currently under construction, which is perfectly fine. The temporary lobby is easily accessible, and right next to all the elevators, very easy to find. You can even do self check-in! Just make sure you get that when you book your room. We didn't have it. There was a huge line to check-in, but it only took about 20-30 minutes of standing in the line. I expected it to take an hour, very quick. The POOL is under construction, as Monte Carlo has notified guests dozens of times. There's absolutely no pool at the hotel to use. However, we were told we had access to the MGM hotel pool and the Mandalay Bay pool. We went to the MGM pool. Omg! it is so worth the short walk. At first, we were overwhelmed with where to go and where to sit, all the chairs were taken, but as soon as we were close to the pool there was plenty of space. We just put our stuff next to the fence, and sat down in the pool, no bothered our things or us. I have never had a better pool experience. I loved it! There is a bathroom with an indoor shower that you can change in, no locker rooms. Honestly though, the pool and lazy river are so fun, and you can eat by the pool. It was extremely CLEAN. Pool was one of my favorite parts. Our floor we stayed on had some of the rooms being update. SO yes! Monte Carlo is updating a lot. We never heard a sound from construction though, not one peep. There is no shopping in Monte Carlo, but a person can literally walk through a doorway and be in the Aria shopping area. So convenient. And walk out another door and there's the New York park. New York is extremely easy to access from Monte Carlo. We received free buffets for every day we stayed the night. It was awesome. The buffets were good for any MGM hotel, and we used everyone of our free buffets. We used ours at the Bellagio, Aria, and Monte Carlo, all very good. Love the breakfast buffet at Monte Carlo. Plus, all the buffets are a bit different, even if they have the same name, "The Buffet." The only reason I didn't give them a 5 is because of the parking. They charge $10 a night, even for guests. No other hotel in Vegas that I've stayed at does this, but it might be a new thing they all start doing. $10 isn't a lot though. Also, our room was outdated. There was wall paper peeling a little and the carpet was wrinkled, so not the most eye appealing. However, the bed was super comfortable! The room was nice and clean. It did have a joining room door, which was a little uncomfortable, but we locked it and were fine. The staff was extremely friendly, all of them. GREAT STAFF!!! We stayed on the High Floor, and we didn't have a strip view, but the view of New York and the Park is nice to see, when a person wakes up. The location was absolutely perfect! We could walk anywhere, and if something was too far, we took the tram or monorail (monorail, must pay for). I think I would definitely stay here again. Especially after they do all their updates. Great location, great staff, and upgraded rooms and pool. I'll probably be back. Collapse

My husband and I stayed go to Vegas a lot for his job. We were there Mar 30, 2017. His company booked us at the Monte Carlo. First off the windows to the lobby doors were disgusting. I wanted to sit down while my husband checked in and the furniture was terrible!! It was so stained and worn down that I decided to stand. My husband got our room upgrades because I told him I did not want to stay there. We get on the elevator, it was old and musty, the outside of the elevator was old and scratched. Now the ROOM!!! OMG, "upgraded" It smelled, stains on the sofa, mold in the bathtub. I stood by the door and he got right on his M-Life and booked us at the Mandalay Bay, which is my preference to stay but his job chose this horrible place. I will NEVER stay her again. My husband went and spoke with someone in management and asked how can they operate a place like this. He was told that they get all of the old furniture when other hotels are renovated and that they will be getting renovated in Nov 2017. Honestly they need to either give rooms away FREE or just shut DOWN!!!! Only a despite person will stay here Collapse

This hotel used to be our spot but after the new renovations we just can't see going back, there is no pool access unless you want to walk across the street to the MGM in your bathing suit, the wifi is spotty at best and if you have a mobil phone you don't need a newspaper or free calls. So there is really no need for an over priced resort fee. but the good news is we finally went to moved on after she felt totally insulted about the pool being closed and with shuttle, they could have offered pool access to the Aria which is a short walk but. So to sum it up, what exactly is the resort fee for? So we stayed at the Treasure Island, very nice hotel and decision. Collapse
