This was our 2nd stay at the Monte Carlo and some things are better and some not so much... As the title suggests the resort is undergoing a massive make over and in the end will be host to 2 hotels, Park MGM and NoMad Las Vegas. You can see signs of old and new all around the hotel, most apparent are were the demising wall once were and were new and old flooring come together. During the construction phase a lot of services were not available during our stay, including the pool and just about all dining options and bars that use to be in the hotel. Diablos is gone, as well as the pizza place, coffee place and several bars, in its place are pop up bars and a pop-up Starbucks (the latter which can not handle the volume). There is one restaurant Primrose serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner - which I will review later. Also closed is the Buffet... Check in - we typically arrive later in the day, to avoid the lines which can be VERY long. Check-in time is standard for Vegas at 3pm. We arrived at 5pm. The hotel has a new self service checkin option, which we took advantage of. We received an online checkin email, registered, indicated when we would be arriving, and when we landed received notification that our room was ready, all we had to do was use the service service checkin kiosk. When we arrive to the hotel there was no line and no wait and we walked right up to a kiosk. It did take a minute or two to figure it out, but we finally did and received our key and went right to our room. There was no one around to assist and I feel during peak times this could be a nightmare for folks... The maned reception desk only had 3 people and it was busy... Room - our room was 12-113 - one of the newly renovated rooms with one king bed. In an earlier review I noted the rooms here needed renovating and I am glad it is finally happening, but seems they took things down a notch during the renovation process... Overall the room was nice and had that very new room smell. The king bed now faces the window area which has a sofa, chair, and table, that can be used for in-room dining. The TV was on the right side wall and could pivot to face the bed or the seating area. (personal preference, I prefer to be looking head on to the TV instead of looking right or left when in bed). Our view was of the new T-Mobil center, Aria, and NYNY resorts. On our first night there was an event at the stadium, but noise was not an issue (Note- we do live in the city, so a little noise is not going to bother us...) Bathroom - consists of a large shower stahl. If you are looking to soak in a tub, this is not the room for you. Also, was a single sink, with ample enough counter space for the two of us, but no under sink storage/shelf space, a standard toilet, and a 4-tier shelving unit, that had a hair dryer and soap/shampoo. Nightstands next to the bed no longer hav a drawer, something I miss... "Wardrobe" - consist of a very small (narrow) safe, hangers, and two SMALL drawers, an iron and an ironing board. This "wardrobe" was basically recessed and shared the sliding door with the bathroom, so if the bathroom door was open the wardrobe door was closed. Hopefully you get the idea. There is no other space for clothes, no place to put t-shirts, sweaters, etc. This is a design miss in our opinion. Vegas Rooms do not have a coffee pot or tea kettle, this is standard in just about all Vegas hotel rooms, they want you out and about and walking through the casino. Nor was there a mini-bar in the room. The casino floor is about 1/2 what it was during construction. Some signage still points you in the wrong direction, and there are lots of new walls blocking construction all of which made navigating a little difficult till we got the hang of it. I gave the hotel an average rating considering the construction and lack of pool, restaurants etc. We will see how things improve after the remodel is complete. Collapse

Monte Carlo is transitioning into Park MGM as a name change. Extensive remodeling is being done in all areas of the hotel and casino. However, none of this disrupts the general use of the facility. The pools at the hotel are not presently available, but arrangements have been made to use the pool at MGM across the street. Restaurant availability is limited, but there are many places nearby to eat. We like New York New York hotel and casino, which is next door to MC, for convenience. The casino floor at MC is constantly changing and improving. You can see changes throughout the facility daily. None of this a reason not to choose MC. Noise is not a factor. You can see changes, but not hear changes. We stayed at MC in Oct. 2017 and again in Nov. with no problems either time. This time we had a remodeled Nighthawk suite which was very nice and we would recommend. Look at the pictures at the MC website. Standard rooms have also been remodeled. MC is still a great location with convenient access by tram to other casinos like Aria, Vdara and Bellagio. It is also next to T-Mobile Arena and "The Park" , an outdoor area between MC and NYNY. Southbound bus service is at the front door and northbound bus service is one block away at MGM. Collapse

I had to camp here for the better part of a week for a work conference. The staff were extremely helpful and despite construction going on, they were very accommodating for the inconvenience. The room I stayed in was of average standards so, nothing over the top to note for the money. The location was excellent being right on the strip and across the street from the T-Mobile area. Collapse

My experience was terrible very early early morning jack hammering as well as other loud construction noise. The hotel was extremely Smokey if your a smoker that’s fine but for a NON Smoker it’s awful, we were all affected badly from the smoke. We had to run the shower for up to 10 mins to get any hot water to have a shower & the room cleaners took towel etc but didn’t replace them. Collapse
