I recently stayed at the Mirador for 4 nights. My partner picked the hotel as it had a good location, with a view of the harbour but also close to all of the restaurants and bars. We arrived around 10am in the morning and checked in straight away which was a huge bonus. Unfortunately the location and the early check in are the only real positives I have about this hotel. The hotel is supposedly a 4 star, I've been lucky enough to stay in a lot of 4 star hotels and this is far from it in my opinion! It's very dated......everywhere! It has a kind of musty smell everywhere! All furniture and fittings were dark wood and made it seem rather gloomy. Our room was quite small, I never felt that I wanted to spend much time in there. There is a roof terrace with sun beds to use but it's really not inviting, there's a small pond with hardly any water in and weeds growing out of it, pots of dying flowers scattered around......not my idea of a holiday! Then there's the so called gym, 5 machines in a tiny room where you can only plug 2 machines in at a time meaning only 2 people can use it at one time. When I tried to use the cross trainer I thought it was going to collapse it was so wobbly! The indoor pool is so small that really only one person can swim at a time. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel so I can't comment on that. Lastly we noticed signs on the street that there was a marathon taking place on the Sunday which was the day we were leaving. It stated that the main road which our hotel was on would be closed between 7:30am and 1:30pm. So we decided to leave at 7am for the airport which was quite early for our flight but at least the road would be open. So we went to reception to check out at 6:50am and asked for them to book us a taxi. The man at the desk really made me panic when he said "there's a marathon, the road is closed, you won't be able to get a taxi" We had our flight home to get to and were being told we basically couldn't leave! Luckily eventually we did manage to get a taxi but I really think the hotel should have told us in advance about this, either before we flew out or at least when we checked in so that we could have planned things better. Overall not a great stay! Collapse

I stayed at this hotel for three nights which was enough, wouldn't have wanted to stay longer. I had room 706 which was at the back of the hotel facing a busy road, I never used the balcony as didn't really want to watch cars and buses go by. Had awful problems with the door card had it changed about four times, just wouldn't work properly. Also it took two lifts and a longish walk between floors to get to the room from the ground floor. The room was OK however, clean and fairly comfortable. The food selection in the dining room is quite small, I am a vegetarian so found it difficult - they did make me an omelette on two occasions for my evening meal however. Service is not good generally, the waiters kept disappearing. I opted for late checkout which cost me an extra 50 euros but as my flight was late evening felt it was worth it. Collapse

This is a welcoming, spacious, slightly quirky hotel with an old fashioned air. It is also ((and Tripadvisor should pay more attention to this) a very accessible hotel, in terms of physical access. The Tapas at the hotel is very good, and you can eat until 11pm if you wish. The hotel is about 25 minutes walking distance to the cathedral, but if you cannot walk very far there is a taxi rank outside of the hotel. All our taxi drivers have been unfailingly helpful, and happy to stow a wheelchair ( unlike many places in the UK). "The Taste of India" is an excellent restaurant which is also accessible (including the toilets). I was apprehensive about coming to Palma with a companion who is semi-ambulance, but I have been delighted by the ease of being here. I think the city should make more of this ( - and I know that access everywhere could be improved, but you have to give praise where it is due. Collapse

I was there for almost a week to race a sailing boat that was docked at RCNP. The Hotel was conveniently located along the harbor and it took a beautiful 10min walk to reach the Club. It is also easy to walk to the old city or the Clubs from the hotel. Did not use a cab all week. The hotel was clean and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. It is one of the smaller hotels on the harbor strip. The beds, AC, and bathroom were all good and suited my minimum needs since I spent most time on the boat. The TV had circa 50 channels. Most were Spanish but 5 were German, 5 were French, 1 was Russian and 2 were English (DW and CNN). The room also had an efficient fridge which came in handy to keep water and beer cold. At night we always had big meals so for breakfast I only ordered a (great) coffee and some toast or a croissant for 1/5 of what the buffet cost. There are 2 small groceries near the hotel where I bought fresh fruit, juice, snacks, water and beer. I used the laundry service once. Expected to find my clothes back in my room in the evening but they were not there. Checked with reception who had received some clothes back and they told me that they were not aware they were mine. Turned out that the markings I had made on the bag seemed to have rubbed off. So use a permanent marker (or a slip inside) if you make use of this service. No big deal since the hotel is small enough that it did not cause a major issue. The main issue I had was the noise from the street and sidewalk. I only discovered on my last night there that there were steep public stairs with several plateaus right next to the hotel's east side and that a lot of partying happened throughout the night on these plateaus, especially on weekends, and especially in the early morning hours. I was on the 2nd floor it seemed as if they were having a party on my balcony. Maybe there is less noise on the higher floors or next time I would get a room on the west side. The street is also very noisy throughout the night and therefore a higher room may also have been better. I rated it 3 stars due to the noise and since it just is not a 5 star hotel; but you also do not pay extraordinary prices to stay there. Collapse

Hotel facilities excellent; room comfortable, balcony a boon, room well serviced and maintained. Breakfast poor value for money. Service mediocre. Location and views over the marina wonderful. Very central location to explore the island.
