Oh my god what a dreadful experience, we were passing through the town and stopped into The Mill Bistro for a meal. We sat at a table for 15 mins, no one offered us any kind of service in the end we had to ask one of the servers for a menu. The service was incredibly slow throughout our meal. The starter arrived after 35 mins, it seemed to take an age for our plates to be cleared and for the second course to arrive. The menu for the main course was misleading. What was described as a roast chicken breast was a tiny oven baked chicken fillet with a cube of potato that was as hard as a rock. We also ordered a side of mashed potatoes which were lumpy and tasteless. My partner ordered the chicken burger and chips. The burger was fine but the chips were burnt. Dessert was another disaster, we had ordered the selection of ice-cream which we thought was a safe bet but the wafer bowl and twirls were soft. We went up to the bar to pay, reluctantly, we stood there for 15 minutes where the first barman, a young guy, completely blanked us and were eventually served by a waitress who got the bill wrong. The place was also filthy, floors and tables were not cleaned after other diners left even though it wasn't busy at all and also the windows look like they haven't been washed in years. This place is definitely one to avoid. Collapse

Have recently had an overnight stay and cannot fault the customer service and hotel in general. From my first enquiry to booking and checking in staff were amazing, especially Lisa and Ciara. My brother is disabled and the hotel was very easily accessible for him and his needs. My son cannot have dairy and although the menu only had one item that had no dairy the chef and staff could not be more helpful and accommodating to find something suitable for him to eat. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The shower dial was a little stiff but once we managed to turn it on the shower was lovely and powerful. The hotel is in a lovely location and we would definitely visit again and recommend to family and friends. Collapse

Hi there just sending a message to you to let you no how disappointed I was on Saturday 13/05/17 with the service we received at my son and nieces first holy communion from the start to the finish We had all our close family and friends with us to celebrate the day but we are so disappointed with the whole day. 1. Dirty glasses at the bar. 2. No side plate on the tables for the bread rolls. 3. No bacon on the bacon and goat cheese crostini and then by the manager was told lies about it. 4.Had to repeatedly ask for bread rolls for the kids. 5. The roast beef was dry out and no vegetables on any of the tables till everyone was nearly finished there dinner. 5. The kids chips were that burnt we had to ask three times for fresh ones for three different children the fish fishers were that bad they couldn't even bite them. 6.The deserts were the worst ever the cheesecake disgusting it could not be eat and who would even think of giving children forks to eat jelly and ice cream, I ask staff for spoons and I got big soups spoon and I had to ask staff again for small spoons 7. We asked about the kids club and was told it was up stairs when we went up to see what was there for the kids it was a empty room when we asked about it they put in a few small toys very disappointing as it was the children's day 8. Spoke to the manger on the day and he told me my children weren't used to home made food. I was so upset over the whole day been ruined as well my sister was meant to be getting married there in 2018 but since has cancelled it. I ended up going home and making food for all the people (24 adults and 15 children) that came I was so stressed out about the whole day and really disappointed in the hotel. I have emailed the hotel and private messaged them but not even a reply Collapse

Myself and my partner stayed here for one night. My partner told the staff on booking it was my birthday and they left a big fruit platter and birthday card in our room (nice touch) The room we stayed in was clean and spacious. We had dinner (which we had prebooked). The dinner was delicious. There was a deal on and so we availed of this (dishes on the menu with a * beside them) were a set price and included a bottle of house wine. We couldn't fault it. Eveything was delicious. (I even got a Happy birthday written in chocolate on my dessert)... The bar was extremely busy and there was a number of very large tables all eating at the same time as us. This had no impact on the quality of service or food we had... So well done for that guys!! We had drinks in the bar after and there was a guy with a guitar singing a the classics. We had a great time. We went to the pool and the jacuzzi. They're both basic but what more do you want? We really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back. Thank you all. Keep up the good work... Collapse
