Upon booking and reviewing trip advisor I was nervous about what to expect. However was beyond happy with the service, food, room and facilities. OK some parts of the hotel need an upgrade but nothing that stuck out enough to turn us off. The food was exceptional, beautiful flavours. We had a sumptuous dinner, a medium rare steak cooked to perfection, and hubby enjoyed a really moist well seasoned burger. Good selection of wines on the list. Breakfast again was beautiful I had poached eggs cooked to order. Home made brown bread and smoked salmon. Very much a 4* standard of breakfast. The gym is fab, large and spacious, plenty of machines, water coolers within. My kids 7 and 10 loved the evening kids club, my daughter wanted to stay to go again. Pity we had to leave.... During our visit the steam room was not working. The sauna is small but does the job. The one down fall for our visit was the kids camp beds were in need of new mattresses. My son could feel a lot of springs but I am sure other family rooms have normal beds too! The staff in each department were so genuinely helpful and nice. It seemed like they couldn't do enough. Nothing was too much hassle. I feel this too makes a hotel stay so much nicer. We would and will most definitely return! Collapse

Stayed in this hotel 6 years ago for a wedding and wow has it gone down hill since then. Husband and I had a one night stay and spa package booked. Arrived to find no parking left during the week even though they have a big mucky carpark at the back.eventually parked by the hedges, not a space, and we got our trousers and shoes mucked up to the top just walking to reception from their potholed mucky carpark. Food on the night was fine but room obviously hasn't been done up in years. Horrible stained carpets and walls, dusty tv and stained bathroom yuk!! Room felt grubby! Tv in room but Tv remote didn't work, couldn't open window for a little bit of fresh air so room was horribly stuffy and bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Overall, very poor night stay. We went to the spa for our treatments the next day, and there is only one girl trying to run the whole place on her own and do all treatments. Dressing gowns were worn and torn in places, our treatments were ages apart because there was only one girl trying to do them, both my partner and I had to wait in the relaxation room for an hour and a half on our own waiting for treatments. We didn't receive all our treatments either. No foot treatment or body brushing for my partner which was already paid for. After waiting in the relaxation room for hours we were only then told that the jacuzzi, sauna and steam room (which we were looking forward to) weren't even on the same floor. They were on floor 1. We just decided to leave instead because we had waited ages for treatments to be completed by only one therapist. This is not a spa experience so don't bother with it. Horrible stay and spa experience overall and felt like asking for my money back!! Collapse

Thanks lads for a great weekend. And an especial big thank you to Ciara and Shauna on the desk. The staff are friendly and full of fun plus they are more than willing to bend over backwards to help you in anyway that they can.

I have literally just left the hotel and I am driving home. I had to write this review straight away. There seems to be a few negative review but please please don't let this put you off. We arrived ( 3 adults 1 6year old) an hour early for our Booking. My fault I had booked for 2 and then changed to 3 and ended up actually arriving at 2. Receptionists were very welcoming went to check if we could sit earlier we were delighted to be accommodated. It's also worth noting I had booked for 4 adults and 1 child and ended up minis an adult and again I was accommodated (customer from hell, I know) Sited at a lovely table a full slate of sambos...chicken, salmon and salad lovely and so may of them...another slate of lovely home made scone (homemade makes all the difference) a massive huge bowl of cream . And the pastries my God lemon, toffee, caramel tartes profiterole swans..chocolate cakes...Strawberries and cream puffs. Hot tea and coffee brought out repeatedly . Big shout out to Magda our lovely waitress who looked after us very well and also the manager, didn't catch his name, but very nice to my little girl. I live over an hour away and nd I would think nothing of packing the family up again for a trip down here again that's how nice it is. Don't take heed of the negative I am the pickest person in the world and my mother is worse and we both loved it. Thanks Mill race we will be back. D Collapse
