Stayed here for 3 nights. Disappointing. The rooms need updating. Standard bed size is a double. Not enough spare pillows or bedding or glasses for 4 people ( my family) sharing. The bathroom is far too small for a family. Just about room enough for one person to stand in. Never been in a bathroom so small other than in a caravan. The gym is extremely dated. On a plus side the best bakery ever is around the corner ( Pitchoun) ,and a real find "Karl Strauss" bar a couple of blocks away. Collapse

I should have known this was not going to be a good stay when I had to wait over 15 minutes on the street waiting for valet to clear enough to pull into the parking area. When I finally pulled into the parking lot, valet did come up and take my keys and hand me my ticket. They did offer to help me with my bags so they did meet minimum standards - barely. Then I go inside and I almost fell over. There was a line that stretched out the lobby int the hallway. Well over 100 people on line. When I asked what happened, I was simply told they were very busy. Are you kidding me? What was so special about a Saturday in the middle of July? While there were 4 staff members working on check in, there were at least 1 or 2 other stations that were not being used. Furthermore, why didn't anyone come around and start checking IDs, credit cards or at least getting names so paperwork could have been prepared in advance in the back. Nope, we just sat in line and waited, and waited and waited. Well, finally I check in and go up to the room. It's a basic room. It's not a modern hotel with modern amenities but it is a quaint hotel in a major city. Room was small and bathroom even smaller. I had a function that evening and returned to the hotel around 1230 am. I get to my room and want to freshen up. I go to turn the water on the tub/shower combo and nothing happens. I play with it for a few minutes and can't get the water to turn on. Sighing I go to the bed and try to call down to the front desk. Can't do that. Phone doesn't work. It appears as thought the wires to the phone and from the handset were not attached. So I try the speakerphone button. That doesn't work. Turns out the wire from the phone to the wall was also not attached. BUT BOTH WIRES WERE SHOVED INTO THEIR SLOTS BUT NOT WORKING. So someone shoved it in there. As soon as I picked up the phone the wires fell out so that tells me that the maids never bothered to move the phone or were aware of the defect and just didn't care. So I go to the other phone at the desk and call down. After being kept on hold for over 15 minutes I get to speak with someone. I ask to change rooms with a working bathroom. I'm told there is nothing available. They ask me if engineering had come up yet. So the reason I was on hold for 15 minutes is they were trying to find someone to come up and look at the problem. Of course, no one had come up and I told them not to bother as it was now near 1 in the morning and I had a 10am flight that morning. So I washed my face and hair in the sink. Next morning, I go to check out and am asked the standard question, how was your stay. I tell the agent the truth that it was terrible. I get in a non-sympathetic tone, sorry. I ask for a manager. None available. Can I leave my information and have a manager contact me. Certainly. That was 3 days ago. So far, no contact. Is anyone surprised. Why am I even giving this hotel 2 stars. From the outside, it looks nice. Room was mostly clean and the building itself was nice. They just have major management and service problems. Collapse

The hotel is lovely it has a good appointed gym with both cardio and weight machines and a great indoor pool and hot tub. The hotel itself looks very impressive whichever enters ce you choose to use. Valet parking is very expensive $47 per night. There is a car park just across the road at Pershing square where you can park all night for $16 so use this. We did not discover it until our second night but saves you a lot of money. The rooms are spacious but could do with a fridge. Good downtown hotel. Collapse

The Biltmore has to be on of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. There is so much history here, you can lose time just looking around. Take your time when staying here, look closely at the ornate, classic work put into building this gem. Check out the pool area downstairs, it is like stepping into the 1920's. Collapse
