Don't do it. This may seem like a good choice as it's cheaper than most other hotels in the area and it has a good location, but pay a little more and be happy. I booked two different rooms for four nights. 1, The rooms. Outdated with broken furniture, old carpet, old fixtures in the bathroom, loud AC units, peeling paint, and tape over the windows. My room had to be switched four times. The first room smelled like smoke covered by 4 strong air fresheners. I walked into the second room and the carpet was soaked with water from a leaking AC. The third room worked for 2 nights, but then the faucet in the shower broke and hot water gushed throughout the bathroom. Maintenance couldn't fix it for 45 minutes so it flooded my room, the hallway, and the room below me. It was like a wet sauna in my room as I was packing up my suitcases. For this I got an upgraded room for 2 nights and 1 night comped. I said I didn't think it was enough so the manager checked with engineering who told her that the issue was very bad and not my fault (yes, they assumed that I ripped out their old faucet handles to have some fun). So she comped me another room and $100 credit. 2. Elevators. Two of the four elevators were broken for at least two days. This is an issue when the hotel is at capacity and you're on the 16th floor. I used the stairs daily. The problem with the stairs is that the hotel employees smoke in them so there are cig butts everywhere and smell of smoke. I actually witnessed an employee smoking as I was taking the stairs. He was standing right by the no smoking sign and didn't seem to care that I was huffing it to floor 16. 3. Fitness center- Three working treadmills (hooray) and some broken weight machines. They did have dumbbells, but only 2 (35lb) dumbbells and the rest were singletons so don't think you're going to lift any heavy weight. 4. Breakfast service. Not enough staff on at breakfast so there was a line for seating. Not sure why as there were open tables and it was a buffet, but we waited 20 minutes for a table on Sunday. I ordered an omelette which took another 15 minutes and it was wrong. Told them my order was wrong and they brought me another one that was also wrong, but I just ate it. I guess all veggies and no cheese isn't an easy omelette to make. 5. The pool outside is fine. The chairs around them are worn and need to be updated. They do give you free towels. The drinks by the outside bar were nice and that bartender was friendly. 6. I had to have an envelope delivered to the hotel. They couldn't find it and when they did they tried to charge me a $10 concierge fee. There is never a concierge working there instead there is a sign saying that it is closed. I complained about the fee as there is no concierge and I just waited 10 minutes to talk to the front desk employee as he was checking in guests (not his fault, but that's why you have a concierge). The manager told me that I wouldn't be charged it as they don't charge for envelopes just packages. Guess what- when my bill arrived there was $10 fee. 7. One day there were no handtowels. None at all. Housekeeping ran out. Don't be cheap. Spend a few more bucks and stay somewhere nice. I would be surprised if this hotel last two more years. Collapse

This hotel located mid beach which is in a nice location. The bed was very comfortable, but the rooms are in need of updating. One thing is you cannot beat the views! Enjoyed the pool, bar and beautiful beach a few steps away

Very 60s-70s style miami beach resort. Clean and well maintained. Very glitzy lobby and public areas.Nice beach and pool areas. Reserve a mini fridge if you want one. They were all gone by the time we asked.

This review is 5 stars primarily for the beach service received during our stay. Carlos Bustos in particular is the reason for this review. I spent 2 days on the beach while my husband was in a business conference. I watched and listened as Carlos interacted with customers all day. Regardless of the situation, he was polite, helpful, calm and very positive. He encountered several pretentious people who were very rude, in my opinion, and he still maintained a very professional attitude, centered on delivering exceptional customer service. Miami Beach Resort is very lucky to have this young man on their staff. He is clearly a hard worker and deserves high recognition, in my opinion. Collapse
