On first arrival at this hotel it looked very modern and spacious We were allocated room number 36 which was at the top of a number of rickety flights of stairs all of which creak when stepping on them. All of the floorboards along the corridors also creaked very loudly and the carpet was quite threadbare in places. Our room was ok, spacious and clean but the bed was very uncomfortable. During the night a number of revellers returned to their rooms – walking along the creaky corridors and talking loudly so needless to say, we didn’t get much sleep. Breakfast was from 8am-11am so we headed down at 8.20. It looked rather unorganised. There were no plates so we had to ask for them. We ordered our drinks and started to dish up the food from the hot buffet. It was a little frustrating as no soon as we had sat down with our food– they brought out more hot food choices. All in all it was an ok stay but I would not rebook to return. Collapse

Visited for one night . On arrival was escorted to our room by Farouk who was very nice, polite and helpful. We were allocated rooms in the Business Centre which was across the car park. The rooms were nice and clean ,the radiators were on full which made the room a little too hot but we opened the window and turned the radiator down a little. We had our evening meal in the clean and newly decorated dining area. We had a three course meal where we had three choices per course. All was served promptly and was delicious. We then moved into the bar area and sat down and relaxed and had a drink. The bar was very busy due to a party in another room and the guests from there were using the bar too. We mentioned this in passing to Emma on reception and she very kindly organised for another girl called Emma to serve us drinks at our table. We had breakfast which was very nice good variety, only one thing was the fact that the hot buffet was set out just inside the door and everyone was in each others way, including the staff and customers Only thing we weren't keen on was the fact that we were in the accommodation across the carpark and it was a bit icy underfoot and really dark as we walked across. Overall it was a very pleasant stay ,with lovely polite and helpful staff. would recommend and return. Collapse

Booked to stay here for 2 nights but wish I hadn’t. First room was cold due to old radiators that hadn’t been bled properly. To be fair to staff, they moved me straightaway to a warmer room. Booked the hotel for its advertised health spa & gym. Entrance to so called leisure facilities was dirty & depressing. Door sticking. Too cold in gym to use it. Steam room was not working. Door in sauna would not shut properly. Pool water was cool & cloudy. Changing room shower was cold. Overall a terrible experience. Collapse

I am a fan of Mercure hotels and have used them across the U.K so when I had to stay at Wolverhampton it was a no brainier to book a Mercure. Admittedly it was last minute on a B And B rate so wasn’t expecting the best room but when I pulled in it was obvious the company had taken it over and were rebranding it. The room was ok,clean and had en suite but the wallpaper was peeling in places, window was a little draughty and generally looked tired. You could hear every room around you when people walked around or closed doors, not a major issue but annoying when you go to bed.Staff were really nice especially reception and breakfast staff. I didn’t eat at night but menu looked nice. Collapse
