I stayed at this hotel due to its proximith to heathrow during an overnight layover. I was certainly expecting something quite different to what i actually got.. I ook the HOPAA shuttle to the hotel and checked in around 10 pm.. The lobby area is quite decent but everything else just falls short of expectations.. The staff is pretty good, i must admit that! My room was quite small (which i kind of expect from hotels in Europe) but the flush in the bathroom didnt work properly.. The room was also not the cleanest one i have stayed in but i didnt protest as i was there only for 8 hours!! There is no complimentary water in the rooms which is bizarre, but the gentleman at the front deslt did offer me a bottle of sprakling water as i was Accor hotel member. Overall, the location is close to heathrow but it takes a while to get there on the shuttle. There is also no direct shuttle between mercure and terminal 4 so you need to change at terminal 5. The price was quite right (£45) however the setting reminded me more of ibis than a mercure! Collapse

Being close to the airport and due to time of year 2 December we did expect this Hotel to be busy and sound levels to exceed the norm. On arrival the first issue was going to be parking the roads were filled, as we pulled ever closer a young man drew close asking if he could help us. We told him we had booked a room for the weekend, he asked if we had booked parking and we confirmed we had not as this facility was not available at the time of our booking. He identified and area we could use for unloading adding we would need to find somewhere else to park up for the night as no parking spaces were available and other spaces nearby were extremely limited due to Christmas parties being hosted at the hotel. We parked up the car as directed and went to book-in at the reception. The reception was all very efficient and we were booked in within a couple of minutes; during this time the young man who was assisting with parking ran in telling us he had got us a space. The reception added the charge to our account and we went off with the young man to park the car and collect our bags who offered us assistance bringing in our bags despite the parking was no more than a couple of hundred yards directly in front of the hotel in covered parking. Spaces were very tight and not for the faint hearted with many larger vehicles impacting heavily on what space was available. Entering the reception once more we noted the high level of music playing from behind some closed doors opposite the reception when the volume increased suddenly as the doors were flung back as party revellers were having fun. Now on booking we did ask for a quiet room? And that is exactly what we received as we disappeared down a myriad of corridors the music faded gently away. On enetering our room the first thing we noticed was the size or lack of space, as you opend the door the bed was in front of you with a space of equal size on either side the space which was the width of a chair and that is what they had on one side whilst on the other was a floor standing aircon unit withe a radiator at the bottom of the bed. We now noticed the heat and the radiator banging as if trying to push out as much heat as it could possibly manage luckily there was a tempratur valve that we turned of completely and the banging also stopped. The room was well equiped almost possibly too well considering the size, iron, ironing board, (tucked away in the wardrobe) tea, coffee and kettle on top of a cabinet containing a fridge. It was good we had only a couple of hanging items ther was little room to spare in the wadrobe and no space we found for non hanging garments or space to place empty bags or cases so we used the chair as our clothes store. Standard of cleaning was acceptable although you taking your shoes off to walk on the carpet would leave black feet while the bathroom floor covered with vinyl was sticky to the touch. The genral feel for the room was well used and adequate to meet are particular requirments for our short weekend stay. The bar was well priced while the £16:00 breakfast seemed somewhat pricey but they do have a captive market. Location provided easy access to airport and surrounding areas of Hayes and Harlington. Would we stay again, Not in the same room it was just to small. I can only imagine the fun we would have experienced if we had used this hotel as a one night stop over with suit cases (not sure where they would have gone, maybe the bathroom?) Collapse

I have stayed here a few times now and always been satisfied. The hotel is usually great value, the rooms are refurbished and stylish, and breakfast is always tasty, with a wide selection. The hotel is also convenient for those visiting Central London - it's a short walk to the bus stop, and then just a few minutes to Hayes and Harlington Station - Paddington 20 mins. And it's much less expensive then Central London! Collapse

I stayed at the hotel for one night while in transit in London. Both check-in and check-out were very efficient and service was friendly and professional. Food (sandwich for late dinner and buffet breakfast) was good and tasty. The room was fairly small and simple (had a single bed) but comfortable. The bathroom was fairly large (even had a bathtub). By and large a pleasant experience. Collapse

I regularly fly through Heathrow, and have stayed at this hotel five or so times in the last few months. Whilst it is usually relatively inexpensive, the overall experience is mediocre at best. There is some recognition of Le Club Accor Platinum status - I have been upgraded all but once. Welcome drink voucher sometimes has to be asked for - and the wine provided with it is rather poor. I don't recommend paying for anything other than the standard rooms - the 'superior' rooms are really no different to a standard Mercure bedroom anywhere else. This said, all of the rooms I have had have been modern and in a good condition. The bathrooms, however, are horrible and are in dire need of an upgrade. Staff whilst not objectionable, aren't particularly friendly. On balance, if the price is under £50 I would stay here again, but anything over this and I'd choose somewhere better. Collapse
