Location: Near the arts and sciences buildings, about 30 min walk to city area and 1 hour walk to beach (according to Google Maps) - however there is a bus stop right outside which takes you to both (1.50 euro a trip, or get a 10 trip card which can be topped up). Supermarket is very close, and a small shopping mall 1 min walk away. Not many places to eat nearly, so we went towards the sitting area most nights. Food: Unable to comment, didn't eat there. Only saw a few people eating there - eating area was right by the reception and very dark, didn't look like a restaurant area, more like the atrium with a few tables. Room: We requested pool view however did not get this. It looked like there were free rooms facing the pool while we were there. Rooms were spacious and cleaners were great - room cleaned very well with fresh towels and sheets everyday. Air conditioning, TV with BBC world news as only UK channel. Gym: there is a small gym but no air conditioning! Pool: We booked this hotel for the sole reason that it had a large pool. When we arrived we were pleased to see that it matched up to the pictures and was very large. However on our arrival there was a group of approximately 40 Spanish children with assistants/monitors supervising them who were all in the pool and therefore no-one else was able to swim. We asked if this was a timetabled thing and if there would be times that the pool was free. We were told there were no set times as the children had free use of the pool. The next day we brought this up again and were forwarded to the manager. Initially she told us that this was NOT a group of children, but just kids with their families staying in the hotel, and that it is summer time and what do we expect! When i then questioned why the children were with people with "monitor" written on their t-shirts, the story changed and she admitted that these were children of the college students next door, who get shared use of the pool. We later observed a desk by the pool where people would come in and pay daily to use the pool. This large group of children were there everyday and we had to work our use of the pool around them, which severely influenced the enjoyment of our holiday. There are also no sun loungers and therefore we had to lie on the grass which is not exactly the comfort you expect on holiday! Overall: The hotel was reasonable enough, and a good pool if you can use it! But be aware that the pool is shared with the neighbouring college (and all their children!). This is likely to influence any stay there (especially if going during Spanish school holidays). Collapse
Very good stay

Enjoyed our stay here. Very clean rooms, very nice selection at breakfast, nice pool. City of arts and sciences very close by, just a 5 minute walk. Lots of gardens and playing fields in the area so good for small children.

There was an issue with my room door, the key wasn't working the first time it happened I went down to the lobby where the guy on the front desk swapped the key for another (I just thought to myself it must have touched one of my other cards in my purse, that can cause issues sometimes). I went back to the room but the new key wasn't working so I proceeded to the front desk again where the guy immediately called someone to fix the door. At last the door was working I said to myself so I thought this was the perfect time to take a stroll around the local area. I had a lovely time until I got back to my room and proceeded to open my room door, argh the door wasn't working again so I again I strolled to the front desk, I was a little annoyed but only because I had to keep going to the front desk (I felt it wasn't that deep to get overly annoyed) but I could feel the guy on the front desk getting annoyed for me which I felt was sweet. The next thing that happened was a major surprise and one that hasn't happened to me before...the guy decided to upgrade me to a suite. It was such a nice gesture and one I was not even seeking, I just wanted them to fix the door. Collapse

The positives about this hotel are the lovely clean pool (note it doesn't open until June 1st), modern decor and very tasty breakfast buffet. The breakfast staff where lovely and smiley. The location is good too, a short walk from the museums and fantastic park and a very enjoyable 25 minute walk to the town centre which you can also get to on one bus or a taxi for around £7 euros. We got a taxi to the beach which cost around £5 euros. Things that let the hotel down are broken air conditioning in the room emitting a horrible drain like smell, dodgy electrical sockets (that crackled and didn't charge my phone, I ended up having to charge it in the bathroom which is not ideal) and very grumpy reception staff. The younger men on reception were very nice but both the women and the older men were rude and dismissive (other guests felt the same). It was really quite bizarre how unfriendly they were but in all fairness maybe they dislike English people having read all the reviews on here moaning that they can't speak English (what a stupid comment to put in a review of a hotel anywhere other than England!). Food near the hotel was not nice. We ate in the hotel one night which was inexpensive but mediocre. Could be a really great hotel if the sorted out the electrics and air con and gave some of the staff training on how to appear like they don't hate the guests (even if they do). Collapse

I recently visited here with my friend to celebrate the beginning of summer and I had such an amazing time. From the moment we walked in the staff were welcoming and although they were Spanish were good at communicating in English! The room was big and modern and very very clean! It was cleaned every day and always looked spotless. The cleaners were also very friendly. The breakfast buffet was so nice it actually made me want to get up in the morning - and I am not a morning person. The room service and mini bar was also reasonably priced, which is not common! The location of the hotel is also handy as it is not in the centre of Valencia - although it is walking distance. It is situated in the more quiet area of Valencia, but also near the lovely restaurants and bars and the bus which can take you to the beach within 20 mins. Would definitely return! Could not fault.
