Another trip to Benidorm and another booking at the Mediterraneo, As my previous review of the hotel state I would return and I have this time as a family with our 2 year old. No major building changes and the hotel remains as described in previous reviews , large spacious rooms with full double bed sofa tv typical furniture and a large 4 piece bathroom with shower over bath . our room this time was in the main block overlooking the pool which in my opinion are the best for the sun most of the day, no real noise from house keeping this time but just other guests. Pool typically cold but this is even the case in summer so we used the indoor pool being and already aware of the swimming cap rule so this caused us no issues as we had brought our own also no issues with any of the staff within the pool or the shop like other reviewers had mentions. food at the hotel remained a good standard with enough choice that should you not be able to find something to your taste then you must be a very fussy eater, I also must mention to all the staff within the restaurant especially Antonio who welcomed us at every meal especially our daughter and same can be said for the bar staff, We had no issues with any member of staff who we found all very pleasant which when you consider the hours and shift they do cannot be easy. As preciously reviewed the main let down of the hotel was we thought the entertainment but this year we spent more time in the hotel and were pleasantly surprised , although no kids club during the day because of the time of year and the fact out little girl was the only child for the full week but the evening entertainment was as reviewed by many a starting quiz then card style bingo followed by usually 2 acts and we found most of these to be of a very good quality from the snake and bird shows to the magic show and live bands our daughter especially enjoyed her self dancing with anyone she could each night. My only criticism this time which is something I had never seen at this hotel in the past as we thought it to be a couples and families only hotel was the large parties of male guests some of which we found to be very rowdy and drunkard which may be okay for a hotel on the strip but not one this far from the drag which is what these guests were looking for. so hopefully the hotel management will take note and stop these type of bookings which may effect return bookings. Otherwise another very enjoyable stay and I will still recommend it and probably return to in the future. Collapse

Which means in reality it's a 3 at best. Nothing too different to report from other reviews Clean to the point of clinical .... No atmosphere Food ok, like a holiday camp type offering Staff - mostly unfriendly and unwelcoming with the odd exception Do you want a base away from the huddle and bustle that is clean and quieter than the usual Benidorm hotel? If yes, then this place will do you fine. Do you want a joyous 4* experience AI? Then if so, book elsewhere. Collapse

Rooms clean, food was good. We where all inclusive, bar service very regimented, you were only allowed 2 drinks per person, even when you had all the AI cards which for our group meant 7 people had to be present for a round of drinks. Hotel location was further from the centre of Benidorm than expected, which resulted in using frequent taxis, which was a further cost to our holiday. Nice enough hotel but would not go back. We stayed at this hotel at the end of February as a young family of 2 adults and our 12 year old daughter for a birthday celebration. From start to finish the hotel was completely faultless, the staff were lovely (especially if you speak a little Spanish) could never do enough for us, rooms were ideal and perfect for what we needed them for, food was fantastic, always a great choice of hot, cold, salads, desserts, and fresh fruit. Beautiful fresh soups every meal time and a great choice at breakfast. Although the mediterraneo isn't in the town or next to the beach, it was perfect for us as it wasn't right in the middle of the hustle and bustle but still within 15 minutes walking distance to the beach and bars etc. There are shows on every night in the hotel, even out of season! In February the bar got quite full at night so in summer it could get even busier but this isn't an issue if you enjoy the entertainment! Lots of nationalities stay at the hotel but none of them ever caused a problem, we spoke to a few people during our stay and they were all so friendly. The indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi were lovely (please be aware that you MUST wear a swimming cap in the indoor pool and this is only due to hygiene standards which more hotels should definitely have) so as long as you aren't phased by wearing a cap then you will be fine. The outdoor pool is beautiful and although it was cold when we stayed, in summer it would be perfect. As a family we go abroad around 2-3 times a year and always stay at 4* hotels so this review is 100% genuine, we can honestly say that this is up there with the best, everything was brilliant and cannot find anything bad to say about this place, so much so that we have booked again to go back in April (7 weeks after the first visit) Please do not believe any bad reviews about food or any part of this hotel as I can honestly say I don't know where they get this rubbish from, you will not be disappointed if you book this hotel. Thank you to all staff for making our holiday so perfect and we can't wait to be back in a few weeks. Collapse

I have visited this hotel 8 times in the past decade and are staying there shortly. The hotel is clean and all the staff are very accommodating and friendly. The food is a vast variety and is a buffet at all meal times. For breakfast there is a selection of almost anything anyone could imagine for breakfast(to include cake, pastries and a variety of bread). After breakfast has ended 'snack time' begins which usually consists of chips, burgers etc. Then it's lunch, there is always pasta, meat, chips, burgers and vegetables. There is also 8 deserts to chose from which ate quite unusual.(ice cream and yoghurt are available throughout the day). Evening meal opens at 7 and the food is exceptional at night. Every week the menu rotates however on all of my holidays there there is Mexican night, lamb night and other themed evenings. For drinks in the restaurant you order of a menu and waiters attend and take your Order shortly after you take your seat. For food and drink at the Mediterraneo you really can't go wrong. Every room has a balcony to soak up the relaxing environment. The rooms are clean and cleaned daily. The towels are also changed daily. Their is an English tv and a mini bar free of charge. For sun bed towels you must put down a deposit of 10€ per towel and the safety deposit box is at a small cost. The entertainment isn't the greatest but you can't expect the best from a small/quiet Benidorm all inclusive. Every night is bingo , a quiz and a mini disco for children up to around 12 there is sometimes a musician, animal show, singer or dancing show to enjoy over a sangria or two. There is a tv in the bar with football on and an an Xbox along with computers. Both pools are clean and supervised at all times in the summer and just the indoor in winter/spring months. Benidorms reputation Isn't the best and is thought to be rowdy and Loud but this hotel bans stag/hen party's and is mainly couples and family's. The hotel seems pretty sound proof. Even above the entertainment room you can't hear a peep which is essential for a good night sleep. The hotel is opposite the famous Benidorm palace and on a main bus route. It's around 20 mins walking distant from the Levante beach and town. The reception staff are always happy to point you in the right direction if you are a little lost or unsure of where things are if its your first visit. All in all you should visit this hotel if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing and enjoyable hotel with amazing food and superb facilities. Collapse
