Stayed here for three nights, the hotel has a very English feel, better facilities Marriott near the airport. Full restaurant and bar, gracious spaces around the lobby, however the rooms are spread out in this two level facility. Service in the restaurant was fairly good. Found the whole place well-maintained, staff were friendly, and they have meeting space good for a business or social gathering. There is a traditional…somewhat upscale… English pub nearby that was the residence of Lord Eggerton. Interesting ambiance with real fireplaces to have a chat by the glowing embers. Collapse

Another lovely stay. Friendly & welcoming staff & great care & attention to detail. Professional but possible to feel personal attention too.... happy receptionists. Thanks all! Our room was spacious, fresh & clean and well-maintained. Everything we needed with fluffy white towels & quality toiletries. View of greenery. Quiet room. Great bed & linen, superb pillows. Our breakfast was laid out really well with lots of choice and everything was fresh & appetising. The hot breakfast ingredients were cooked just right & appealing. Excellent scrambled egg! Truly a great stay.... with opportunity to walk near the golf course too. Collapse
Awful, just awful in all respects. Spolied a special weekend.

Stayed here 2/12/2017 Room 455 with my partner. We booked a "superior" room here for one night and it wasn't cheap...sitting here on Monday night I'm still stunned by the horrible customer service and our totally awful stay at this luxury hotel. Arrived well after check-in time to be faced with immediate confusion over whether we had booked an evening meal...we were on a bed, breakfast and evening meal deal so yeah, we booked. After some frankly confusing phone calls by reception we were told that we did have a booking but because of a party that night, we'd have to eat in the bar. So let’s get this right, all the photos we'd looked at, all we'd planned was now out the window? LISTEN; mention this to your customers. We WERE assured however that the Grill menu WOULD be available in the bar bistro. Anyway, onto the room which was reached by a creaking private elevator? The room was very nice (see pictures) but was infested with large cobwebs (picture included, I have left the geotags so you can be sure it's the right room) The room was so hot we had to leave the aircon on all night. It was very romantic to listen to. I have worked in more comfortable server rooms overnight than this. Turing the aircon off lead to immediate roasting so we had no choice. The swimming pool, whirlpool and other facilities were great, we enjoyed those. Onto the "Evening Meal"....We had a forty five pound allowance included which we were looking forward to spending. Barging through all the drunk sequinned party in women we arrived at the place we were to eat....holy smoke, it was like a roped off cupboard. After all the build up this is where we were to eat? And to top all this off, we were limited to the freaking bar menu? What poor service. My starter was cold and took about half an hour to come so I sent it back; this upset my partner which really annoyed me. I was very specific about my main course choice because there was very little to choose from. Guess what? They got it wrong. By this point I was seething so I left it all uneaten and walked out. I never send food back but this was the worst meal I've been presented with in years. Before going to dinner we had been searching for the free movie they promise in the package but we couldn't find it. I decided to ask at reception how we access this to be told that it didn't exist any longer...why advertise it then? Also I had to break the receptionist off a personal conversation with a non guest about her washing machine or something. I would be fired for that level of service. Breakfast was OK but I was barely able to digest any because we were then in the place we SHOULD have had our special evening meal....I'm still so angry over this.....so we packed up and left. Other things wrong? Broken fan in the bathroom leaving it unusable after one shower. Drunken women staggering around all over due to the party and just very poor levels of customer service. Would I pay to stay here again? Hell no. I wouldn't go back at gun point. Marriot, you should be ashamed at the customer service you gave us. I've had better service from an eighty pound a nigh motel Collapse

I am a gold member of this brand loyalty scheme and stay in hotels a lot. On this occasion it was a one night stop before an earlyish flight. Check in was a joke. The gold desk was blocked by a tour bus and despite having checked in on the mobile app no one was available to provide a keycard. When I was getting more agitated they finally stepped away from the tour group and provided this - poor show. I was upgraded but on asking about a lounge - they don't have one, for early breakfast they could not provide this and I asked about travel times to the airport and they were beyond vague. The upgraded room was at best average and to have a desk chair held together by tape in this standard of hotel is shocking. Went to the bar for an overpriced drink which took an absolute age and there was zero atmosphere. Tried the sports bar next -s inking of paint, couldn't offer any cocktails and again zero atmosphere (it was a Friday night). Everyone seemed to be members of sports teams in tracksuits. Gave up and went to bed with a bottle of champagne from the car... Check out was OK but they had taken the money for the drinks from my card without giving me an opportunity to pay in any other way.
