This hotel is located south of “South Beach” chaos which suits me/my family. It is right on the beach and has two pools and a hot tub beachside. We enjoyed our stay very much. Lot (pool manager) was so cordial and helpful and went the extra mile to ensure our needs were met, always with a pleasant smile. Other staff were also very pleasant - we always felt welcomed! The room was clean (although housekeeping was typically later in the aft). We didn’t eat on site - we preferred the many food options closeby. Starbucks was not operating when we stayed last year and again this year (scheduled to reopen after we left) - this would have been a great amenity because the hotel no longer serves complimentary coffee in the lobby. I didn’t like the “resort fee” at all. We used the beach only one day of our multi day stay and it didn’t include an umbrella for the day! So we had to pay $28 per day (which includes two beach loungers and two small bottles of water and some other misc activities such as Jenga, fooseball, chess) and then another $19 per day for the umbrella. This hotel, while it is quite nice, I do not consider a resort and the resort fee was not good value. This hotel would not suit someone with mobility issues - there are stairs everywhere - although you can get to the pool and beach via roundabout ways. Collapse

the hotel has just been renovated. The rooms are nice with great sea/beach views. Also a good area for restaurants and bars. On site Lolo’s does breakfast through dinner. It’s OK but we mostly went out for meals and drinks. There’s a Starbucks downstairs. On our floor there was a sign to ‘vending’ but there isn’t any, only Ice, so facilities aren’t great. Staff are friendly and took good care of us. Pools are good and you’re also right on the beach. Collapse

When we arrived, we learned that check in is after 4pm. The courteous staff called me when our room became available. I was unhappy to learn that the hotel restaurant at the rear of the hotel near the pool is closed for renovation. There is an Asian restaurant that opens after 6pm and a Mexican restaurant that is next door available for guests. There are ocean front rooms, facing east, which were sold out. The rooms facing north are partial ocean view. Our room 1033 had a beautiful view of the beach and ocean. The room was average size and had a balcony, a comfortable shower and the bathroom door slides right to left but did not completely close. The view from the south facing rooms are obstructed by a building next door and the rooms facing west have view of the city. The rate includes 2 margaritas from the Mexican restaurant which we did not collect. And, 2 beach chairs which we did not use. The rows of chairs are narrow and deep and the view of the ocean from these is obstructed by larger recliners that cost additional money. There are only 2 elevators and 1 was not operating properly for the 1st couple of days. Collapse
Not at all an upscale hotel, this is a 3-star pretending to be a 4 or 5 star.

This is a 3 star hotel masquerading as a 5 star hotel. The only thing about the Stanton that is luxury is the price. It's not immediately apparent but it becomes clear after a bit. Marriott recently re-classified this hotel as a 'resort' which means they provide less amenities and charge a resort fee. They just eliminated the concierge lounge so elite members don't get that perk. They also don't provide coffee in the lobby. The lobby is decorated fine enough but it's a big foyer, not the lobby of an upmarket hotel. There's no place to sit, no chairs or sofas just an open space with elevators on one side and checkin desks on the other. The rooms have been redone but Marriott did it on the cheap; the bathrooms are tiled with plastic fake marble tiles and the floors are fake wood laminate. They are on the small side with very little storage. The views are nice but the balcony was kind of grotty. There's no minibar! The coffee makers aren't Keurig's, they're small cheap coffee makers. The wifi for my first room was unusable it was so slow even though I'm supposed to be eligible for the high speed enhanced. It was so slow it timed out on a speed test. The beach area is very crowded and while you get chairs for the resort fee, the umbrella is not included and is an extra $19. The pool area is ok, but it's small and not grand like so many other hotels in SoBe. The final straw was when I ordered room service and it was delivered in a paper bag in takeout containers with plastic utensils. When ordering room service I would expect it served on a tray with napkins and proper plates and silverware. You might expect a mid range hotel to maybe do that but not a category 9 at Marriott and paying $450/night. I was at a Holiday Inn last week in MT for $120/night and it delivered rooms service on a tray. This hotel is trying to cut corners at every turn and it shows and diminishes the guest experience. I feel like I was sold a bait and switch and would not go back. Collapse

I would like to say Leonela at Concierge was more than helpful answering all of my questions prior to my arrival at Marriott Stanton. She made our stay enjoyable and helped me with options on tours for our stay in Miami. She emailed me maps, prices and gave me ideas. Our stay was lovely, we enjoyed how close we were to the beach and that it wasnt too close or too far to all the crazy party crowds it was just the perfect location. The room was nice and very clean. We loved the water with fruit they would provide in the lobby, every morning before our adventure we would drink a couple cups of that water it was so refreshing. I enjoyed the fact that they have bike rentals in the hotel it was so convenient and fun to ride those. We would bike to breakfast and bike back to the beach. Thank you to Leonela for the help and guidance. Collapse
