We stayed in Marriot Son Antem for the first time this summer. Upon arrival we were checked in and driven to our room. Our villa was 433, which was quite far from the main clubhouse. Make sure to request a room from either the 500 block or 600 block. Every two blocks of villas there is a small swimming pool which is much less crowded than the main one. This was much closer to us and there was rarely any one else there. In the clubhouse itself there are various activities to do from cocktail making to watermelon eating competitions! There was also many fitness classes which were very good. There are two restaurants on site, La Finca, and La Terassa. We ate in La Terassa quite a few times and honestly didn't think it was that bad. It was very average yes, but not nearly as terrible as all the reviews. We particularly enjoyed ordering pool service there. I would recommend a car to get around, the taxi fares are pretty expensive. All in all we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely return in the future. Collapse

Every summer, we look forward to 10-14 days at the Marriott Son Antem. Located 20 minutes from Palma/airport, the resort is not within walking of the beach, but everything else one requires for a great family vacation is available directly on the property. The villas are spacious and well maintained. There is a large pool, with lifeguard now in attendance, shared between ~8 villas in addition to the indoor/outdoor pools at the clubhouse. Situation on 2 spectacular golf courses means beautiful vistas as well as great running, biking and walking trails. The resort has a huge offering of activities. There are tennis, basketball and volleyball courts. Our elder children (10 and 6 y.o.) enjoy tennis lessons with Javier - he has real talent for coaching fast progress in a fun and engaging way. Our son (6 y.o) also took golf lessons with both pros and thoroughly enjoyed this too. The only aspect of the resort not up to the otherwise excellent standards is the food. There are 3 restaurants- La Terrasse for Marriott, the Buffet at Be Live main hotel and independent La Finca. While La Finca has a great setting and truly fantastic staff who year after year warmly welcome us like part of the family, the food is average. The buffet at the main hotel is good, but staff are not welcoming to guests from the villas, blocking almost all tables for hotel guests, even when the restaurant remains half empty. La Terrasse is good for breakfast and light meals. The food is average but the experience is elevated by the friendliness and professionalism of Lluis- the head waiter who has become a fixture over the years and famous for his excellent service. Of course there is always the option of cooking in your villa kitchen or enjoying a private barbecue- everything you will need will be found between the well equipped kitchenette, the well stocked on-site mini-market or nearby in Llucmajor. The villas are in excellent shape, great staff and fantastic property including the golf courses. Probably no holiday we manage to relax better. Want to point out Lluis from La Terassa restaurant who is an absolute jewel - always helping with our three kids. The team at La Finca restaurant - better impossible. We are about to leave but will be back for sure. Collapse

This is a Marriott resort, and exactly what you would expect, exemplary service, superb services, extremely spacious villas with private garden, two very large bedrooms and a fully fitted kitchen including all mod cons and two different coffee makers. Each of the small clusters of villas is attached to its own pool, so shared by possibly 30-40 people maximum. During our stay we only encountered about 15 people in total at any one time. The complex has 2 restaurants , a spa, gym. wellness centre and a very large inside/outside pool with spa. UIt is in the hills above Palma so only 15 minutes to the city and beaches, 10 minutes to the airport and a wealth of local facilities. Collapse
Love this resort, even though it isn't walking distance to anywhere

The villas here are lovely and spacious with all of the amenities that you might need, from toiletries to a barbecue in the back garden. Each set of villas has it's own pool, but there is also a large pool and great spa facilities within the complex. The shop has all of your basic needs but can be pricey when compared to the shops outside of the complex. We felt very safe and secure during our stay and often left our back door open without any problems. The grounds are lovely to walk around and there are plenty of activities to do on site. La Finca served excellent food and had a good variety of entertainment. The BE-LIVE hotel on site also has an excellent pool that you have access to, but their restaurant is pricey if you are not a guest at their hotel. There are a LOT of cats roaming around the complex, so if you don't like cats, be warned. The setting is lovely and very peaceful- it feels like you are surrounded by nature even though you're in a resort. The kids club is an excellent place to keep your children occupied. The staff were mostly very good- particularly Abraham and his friend (who's name I've forgotten!) at reception- they went above and beyond to help us during our stay. Collapse
