A group of stayed here over the weekend in order to play golf. Having been to a number of other, disappointing establishments, this turned out to be one of the better ones. The dinner on the first night was not the usual overbooked, pre-prepared rubbish we had come to expect. The rooms and service were good too! We were that pleased we have booked again for next year. Well done Marriott! Collapse

Booked a one night golf break on what was the hottest weekend this year . I was amazed that there was no air conditioning in the rooms and only one small window. we sat outside on the patio after golf but could not find a clean table nor could we find any staff to clean them we we did we had to ask twice. Our evening meal was in the zest bar but it was so hot we asked for the air con to be turned and was told it had packed up. we managed to eat outside. The golf was good but we had rung up for buggies and was told that they would be £17 each but when we went to collect them was told they were £30 each and they denied ever telling us different. Sorry this is a short review as we only had 1 night here. We stayed here so we could take the kids to Paultons Park as my daughter loves Peppa Pig. On check in we were upgraded to a lovely 1 bedroom suite (probably because of my elite status with Marriott) which after staying I would probably pay for next time as it really suited us as a family. That night we had a lovely meal at the Zest restaurant and also used the pool which was really good and has all the facilities you would expect of that level of hotel. The next day the breakfast at the Broadstreet Restaurant was really nice and the kids loved the fresh watermelon. There was a really good selection and it was of good quality. Next time I would definitely stay longer as we didn’t experience everything we would have liked to. But if you do stay its worth having a bigger room so get the one bedroom suite. WIFI works well and the parking is free also. Collapse
Ok but in need of a good revamp

Having stayed in a number of Marriott and Marriott Country Club hotels we decided to book this hotel as it was close to Peppa pig world. The arrival area and reception is lovely and the staff were incredibly welcoming however the rest of the hotel is very dated and the rooms are in need of a good revamp. We had a room with 2 double beds which was comfortable however not up to the normal Marriott quality we have experienced in the past. The room was in need of a good make over as the wallpaper was tired and there were large pen marks on the walls which made it feel very unloved and dirty. The room itself needed a good clean and basic facilities like a hairdryer were missing. Having been at the hotel 15 minutes my little girl had an accident in the room which meant we had to visit Portsmouth Hospital. The receptionist was fantastic and helped us in every way she could however I was a little disappointed that no one checked up on us or asked us how we were the following day considering the injury happened due to a damaged chair in the room! We didn't have much time to visit or use any of the hotel facilities as after the accident we were late back to the hotel and our little girl subsequently was no longer aloud to go swimming (which was one of the reasons we chose this hotel). The breakfast the next day however was brilliant with plenty of variety and again very helpful staff. Not sure I would class this as a luxury hotel more 3 star accommodation in need of a bit of tlc. We definitely wouldn't stay here again when there are better value for money hotels around which offer more up to date accommodation and room facilities. Collapse
Attentive & hardworking staff.

I've just returned from a 4 night stay at Meon Valley and had my wedding here during my stay. The staff here couldn't have made it anymore perfect. I'd like to say a huge thank you to Danielle our wedding planner who came in new after our original planner left with just weeks to go. She was a pleasure to work with and did her upmost for us. It was really appreciated that her communication meant that I didn't have to feel stressed over anything. Also a huge thank you to Will who ran our day perfectly. Me and my now husband Chris thought he was such a great person and was so attentive, helpful and organised . The hotel itself is great. The staff were so lovely throughout. Pat on reception is a credit to the brand. Nothing was too much trouble! Mike and Ricky at breakfast too were lovely also. The rooms have no aircon but a fan is provided. Having worked in a hotel that has no aircon myself I can totally sympathise that although it's not ideal as the room can get stuffy, it's not a quick fix either. Zest bar was great for a quick bite to eat and drinks and has a lovely patio area. Broadstreet does the most lovely breakfast in the mornings too. The swimming pool and spa area were absolutely lovely and the changing rooms were sizeable also especially when having a 4 year old in tow. Just want to end my review by stating whoever decorated our tiered cheese cake with the flowers, thank you, it was absolutely perfect and I cannot thank you enough! Cannot wait to come back! Collapse
