We came to this hotel for a Mother’s Day treat, the pool, jacuzzi and other facilities were excellent. We had a walk around the grounds which in itself is somewhat breath taking. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff even better, they couldn’t do more to help you out. There was one lady with blonde hair who made us feel very welcome and saw to our every need. The only niggle I had was the limited set menu and equally the very small menu for children in the Bar and Grill restaurant. Overall, I would stay here again as it’s a lively periodic hotel. Collapse

We just stopped here for one night as a getaway and to visits couple of places nearby. We originally booked for two nights but had to cancel one at short notice which was dealt with efficiently and pleasantly. The hotel itself is set in stunning grounds and the building reflects its history. The building is set over several levels and wings, meaning the advice to check in before unloading is spot on. We were at the rear of the building and it was a lot easier to drive to a convenient car park to unload. The room was spotless, warm, large and very comfortable with every facility you could require. The food inter restaurant was piping hot, very well presented with a reasonable choice. The staff were a delight. The checkout time is a respectable mid day and a easy process. To summarise, the price for the whole stay was reasonable. The accommodation, ambiance, staff, and amenities were the best I have experienced in this type of hotel for a very long time. We will be back Collapse

Fourteen of us (plus Baby Piers) spent a wonderful evening (13/03/17) in The Cast Iron Grill celebrating the engagement of my best friends son. The proposal was a complete surprise for the now Bride to be and everything went so very well, especially when 'she said YES'. The hotel staff on duty that day/evening were so helpful, and contributed greatly to the success of the evening, nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent with a great choice from the main menu along with a very reasonable priced set menu. The service at the table was excellent. On behalf of the whole party a very big 'thank you' to everyone at Breadsall Priory who was involved in making this evening very special and one never to be forgotten. Collapse

Booked a weekend away for my partners birthday. I had booked for him to play golf but unfortunately we had the snow so the golf course was closed. When I rang up and booked I asked if i could have a room with a view (of the golf course or beautiful scenery) and a junior suite. I explained that if the view was not available I would happily downgrade to a double bedroom with a view but i was assured we would have a view. When we arrived the views across the place were simply stunning with all the snow and the hotel was very attractive. Check in was quick and easy. The suite was beautiful but unfortunately we didn't have a view which was very disappointing as i had paid a lot of money for the suite. I did mention it at reception and was told the next time we came to book a junior suite in the hotel its self as they are the ones with the views!!! I booked afternoon tea as a surprise. Very dissapointed with the sandwiches, basic to say the least. The desserts were to die for. I've had far better afternoon teas for a lot less in price. Breakfast was fabulous, everything you could want and our waitress was lovely, very chatty and helpful. She recommended we went to Matlock for the day on Saturday and told us lots of places to call into, which we did, we had a brilliant day so thank you for that. We used the sports bar for food and drinks Saturday evening, great atmosphere, good choice of bar food. Overall we had a lovely relaxing break but was very dissapointed with the room location. Splendid Country Hotel

As you would expect from Marriott this is a splendid hotel set in beautiful country- side. They lay on an excellent dinner but when we stayed no lunch so we went out to local Pubs which was OK by us. The breakfasts were also very nice.
