I booked this hotel/golf last year as we were looking for a new venue for our Golf Club Ladies Section to visit for the yearly weekend away. My partner and I arrived a day early to ensure everything was in order and to get a feel for the place/find out where everything was. From checking-in, to the bar to the restaurant to the pro-shop - we couldn't have been looked after better. The staff were exceptional and always smiling and helpful. Particular mention to Eileen in the restaurant for breakfast - always smiling and asking how we were. The young blonde haired guy (sorry didn't get your name) - was also really helpful. All in all very attentive bar and restaurant staff (both in the hotel and Tempo bars). All our 9 rooms had good views apart from 2 who had the car-park to look at - two of our party were in the Mews block and I must admit the rest of us were very jealous - when I come again (and I will definitely be back) I will request one of these rooms. Our room - garden view ground floor was a good size with a two seater settee and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. I do agree with a lot of the comments on here about the bathrooms being a little tired though but this was just a small gripe. Do not hesitate to book this hotel and golf course/s - the staff will make you very welcome. Collapse

Overall this hotel was very good. It is set in beautiful surroundings with two golf courses to choose from Our bedroom was very nice and a reasonable size with lovely views over one of the golf courses. My only gripe was that there did not appear to be a lift for the general public and it was a bit of a haul dragging suitcases up at least a couple of flights of stairs The food in general was fine and price wise probably what you would expect to pay in a hotel. A big plus was the lovely pool which was just the right temperature!. I would certainly recommend this hotel , especially if you like your golf!. Collapse

Not at all the place we expected. The name and write up suggest that there is some antiquity and interest to the place - there isn't. There are some rooms in the older part of the building with more character but they didn't appear to be in use, so had a drink in the worst kind of bar with 2 noisy tv screens. Walked up and down stairs and along what seemed like miles of corridors to a room comfortable but without any character - comparable to a Premier Inn only smaller. (Premier Inn may have been a better choice). Unless you are going for the golf - don't make the same mistake. Collapse

This was our fourth visit in just over 6 years, and we found Breadsall Priory as comfortable and enjoyable as ever. This 400 year old former priory has a wealth of history behind it and is situated in a stunning location surrounded by a large golf course. We've stayed in the old priory in the past but this time we opted for a room in the newer wing with a golf course view. And what a great decision that was! The room itself was extremely spacious, very clean, had a most comfortable king size bed , a well stocked mini fridge and two truly outstanding views of the golf course. The pool and spa were as good as ever, and the food and service in the Priory Restaurant likewise. If you're in Derby for social, family or business reasons and looking for somewhere different to stay out of the city centre - but only about 20 minutes away by car - then Breadsall Priory should be on your list. I have just organised a Golfing weekend for twelve at Breadsall. Ten of + 60 and my youngest son and his brother-in-law. The weekend was enjoyed by all. Comfortable rooms; an excellent dinner enjoyed on the Sunday night + a number of Speckled Hens; friendly, helpful service from Golf Reception to the bar and to the waiter on the Sunday evening. Highlight, other than the company, had to be the two courses - The Moorlands on the Sunday and Priory on the Monday (would suggest booking buggies for the Priory). Two excellent, challenging courses. Would definitely return. Collapse
