My wife and I visited the Riad Star for her birthday. I can only say that it is absolutely enchanting. From the outside it is an unmarked door in a dingy alleyway but inside it is magical. The rooms are lovely, spotlessly clean and well appointed, the courtyard areas are spectacular and the rooftop terrace is wonderful with great views over the Medina and a great place to sit to enjoy the scented breeze of Marrakech. Unlimited mint tea is served on request, which is delicious. The food is outstanding, we had a vegetable tajine which was one of the best meals we have had anywhere. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, especially Aziz for whom nothing is too much trouble. Collapse

My mum and I were luckily upgraded to the Paris room in Riad Star after having initially booked the Jasmine room in Riad Papillon. Riad Star is amazing. From the moment we were picked up from the airport the staff were welcoming and would go out of their way to make us feel right at home. Although we arrived after 9 in the evening, Bader gave us a tasty dinner followed by a tour along with a brief history of the Riad. The Riad itself was beautiful, a maze of stairs and detailed oriented decor. Both Aziz and Bader went out of their way in assisting us with wherever we wanted to go - from booking a guided tour to the Ourika Valley and Atlas Mountains to a horse and carriage tour of Marrakech. They were also very caring and would walk us from the Riad to taxis and pick up points. We never had to use the prepaid phone they gave us for emergencies, but it was good always knowing they were just a phone call away in case we got lost in the maze of streets in Marrakech. I did often hear the Riad phone ring in the middle of the night when guests would no doubt need to be picked up and walked back to the Riad. Aziz and Bader would go at any time to pick up and walk back their guests. During our 5 night stay we spent a few evenings on the roof watching the sunset whilst sipping on mint tea, to escape the hustle and bustle of the medina. I highly recommend Riad Star based on this alone - you are only a few minutes walk from the souks yet can escape at any time of the day for a bit of quiet time. The Hammam and massage provided by Riad Star is amazing. At reasonable prices, the head to toe massage was fantastic and left me feeling so relaxed, I could have melted in the sun. A note to management: the staff you have here are amazing. I will dearly miss this Riad and will miss the staff just as much. They are what made this hotel so special and made our stay in Marrakech that much more memorable. Collapse

I visited Riad Star with a friend of mine. We stayed for 5 nights in early May and absolutely loved every second! I cannot recommend this Riad enough! Nothing is too much to ask of the lovely staff and the food is gorgeous. On arrival you are provided with a local mobile phone, preloaded with credit - this is really handy to use if you need to call the Riad should you get lost in the Souks or if you need to organise a taxi to pick you up while you are out and about. The Riad provides free wifi, but not all tourist attractions/restaurants have the internet so the mobile is really useful! It is surprising how a hotel situated in such a busy city can be so calm and quiet! There is a great roof terrace with stunning sunset views, it is also perfect for sunbathing or grabbing a bite to eat. You would not believe you are in the middle of Marrakesh when sitting on the terrace, it is so peaceful. There is a dipping pool on the ground level of the Riad, great to cool off your feet after wondering around the medina! We did the cookery school and really enjoyed it! As vegetarians it was surprising that there were still so many options both to eat in the Riad and to cook during the class. We had two evening meals and both were gorgeous, the portions were huge and the food was authentic and tasty. I would recommend the bastila (maybe spelt incorrectly) for dinner, it is great! The staff at the Riad helped us to organise a few day trips as well as to book meals. All of the recommendations we received from the staff were great places. In particular le comptoir (for dinner) and henna cafe (for lunch and henna) are my top two spots. Collapse

The Road and staff exceeded all our expectations. I had read glorious review after glorious review but the reality was fabulous. We were a group of 8 lady's celebrating a 50tb birthday and were all so in awe of the beauty of the road and attentive staff especially Aziz. Again, Aziz's name comes up in most of the reviews, but he really does go above and beyond the call of duty. He was constantly there whenever we needed him, or blended into the background when we were happy being left to ourselves. He even offered to arrange a taxi to the supermarket in the new town for us to buy wine as most places there are not licensedto sell alcohol. Being in the old city - the medina - itself made our holiday! Seeing the locals making their crafts in the ancient city was awe inspiring. The medina is like a maze of tiny little lanes with no cars in general but lots of mopeds you have to keep an eye on. The Star Road gave us a phone for if we got lost, but their own APP was amazing for helping us fine our way around and we never had to use it. Aziz arranged all our restaurant bookings being a large group, and escorted us to the restaurants and back if we wanted. The roof terrace was a little bit of heaven to escape the crazy streets below with cabanas for shade or sun loungers to snooze in. They have their own hamam and spa on the roof too which was just lovely. Highly recommend this place to anyone! Family's, groups or couples a like. Lots of little areas to sit in peace after a day mooching in the crazy ancient city. Thank you again Aziz- you really made our holiday extra special. Collapse

My mother, niece and I had the pleasure of staying at Riad Star in February. We booked the Ebony Suite, and it was just beautiful. We were more than comfortable, it was a welcome retreat after spending a few wonderfully hectic days exploring the Medina and the city of Marrakech. Aziz and the rest of the staff were outstanding, and made sure we were well taken care of. Nothing was too much trouble, and we certainly appreciated when the boys would escort us to and from restaurants, come find us when we were lost, and walk us to the taxi early in the morning. The dinner we enjoyed on our first night at the Riad was one of our best meals. I would definitely recommend Riad Star, and I hope to return again. Collapse
