Never before have we experienced hospitality that we received at Riad Star! It was home away from home! The staff welcomed us with open arms and at times it felt as if we were the only guests at the Riad just by the way they treated us. Aziz and his staff were very accommodating and helpful in every way possible. The breakfast was home made and they served different foods everyday. The Riad is clean and comfortable. Overall, our stay at Riad Star was wonderful! We would definitely stay there again without a doubt. Collapse

My other half and I booked to stay at Riad Star following a Friends recommendation and looking at reviews but we were blown away by the sheer beauty of this place and even more by the kindness and helpfulness of the staff. The location was perfect just a few steps from all the main attractions. We met some people who had stayed in a hotel outside of the medina and we were so glad we chose to stay within the city walls. They felt they could have been in Mallorca as they didn't really see the medina. I am not normally one to write reviews but I felt that this place really deserves a mention and Aziz in particular went out of his way to make sure our stay was a big success. Thanks to all the guys there and the kitchen staff too. We really appreciated everything you did during our stay. Just to mention a few things: 1. We thought the meals we ate at riad star were the best we ate in Marrakech. 2. We loved the fact that you alwys seemed to have a welcoming smile either early in the morning on our day of departure or late at night waiting for us to return home from our adventures into the new town. 3. We really appreciated all the little extras you gave us in our room and when we asked for things. 4. My wife loved the meditation pod and used it every day. One tip for Marrakech is to ensure you download the App that this hotel has created called marrakech riad travel guide and map i think (or something like that). Also watch out for the pushy men and women at the square who may grab your hand and start putting henna on it and others who might encourage you to have a snake round your shoulders and then charge a fortune for thephoto opportunity. We will be back soon probably with parents in tow as I think that they will have the confidence to explore Marrakech knowing that they have this beautiful safe haven to retreat to when they get tired. Many thanks again. Recommend highly. Collapse

Marrakesh and the Riad Star were both less than I expected. I agree with other writers that what lies beyond the door in a very dingy alley is amazing, but you still need to enter down the dingy alley which is dark and very uninviting at night. The staff were competent but not particularly welcoming or friendly. The white room enchanting but poorly equipped. the only cupboard very small and no where to put luggage. The bathroom was acceptable and modern. The smart phone App which we loaded onto our phones was excellent with its map, tracking and recommendations. We returned the prepaid phone after the first night. Collapse

My wife and I visited the Riad Star for her birthday. I can only say that it is absolutely enchanting. From the outside it is an unmarked door in a dingy alleyway but inside it is magical. The rooms are lovely, spotlessly clean and well appointed, the courtyard areas are spectacular and the rooftop terrace is wonderful with great views over the Medina and a great place to sit to enjoy the scented breeze of Marrakech. Unlimited mint tea is served on request, which is delicious. The food is outstanding, we had a vegetable tajine which was one of the best meals we have had anywhere. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, especially Aziz for whom nothing is too much trouble. Collapse

My mum and I were luckily upgraded to the Paris room in Riad Star after having initially booked the Jasmine room in Riad Papillon. Riad Star is amazing. From the moment we were picked up from the airport the staff were welcoming and would go out of their way to make us feel right at home. Although we arrived after 9 in the evening, Bader gave us a tasty dinner followed by a tour along with a brief history of the Riad. The Riad itself was beautiful, a maze of stairs and detailed oriented decor. Both Aziz and Bader went out of their way in assisting us with wherever we wanted to go - from booking a guided tour to the Ourika Valley and Atlas Mountains to a horse and carriage tour of Marrakech. They were also very caring and would walk us from the Riad to taxis and pick up points. We never had to use the prepaid phone they gave us for emergencies, but it was good always knowing they were just a phone call away in case we got lost in the maze of streets in Marrakech. I did often hear the Riad phone ring in the middle of the night when guests would no doubt need to be picked up and walked back to the Riad. Aziz and Bader would go at any time to pick up and walk back their guests. During our 5 night stay we spent a few evenings on the roof watching the sunset whilst sipping on mint tea, to escape the hustle and bustle of the medina. I highly recommend Riad Star based on this alone - you are only a few minutes walk from the souks yet can escape at any time of the day for a bit of quiet time. The Hammam and massage provided by Riad Star is amazing. At reasonable prices, the head to toe massage was fantastic and left me feeling so relaxed, I could have melted in the sun. A note to management: the staff you have here are amazing. I will dearly miss this Riad and will miss the staff just as much. They are what made this hotel so special and made our stay in Marrakech that much more memorable. Collapse
