Arrived to find that due to a system error they had lost our reservation. The staff were dreadful, not a single apology. Just handed a phone with their Head Office at the other end offering alternative accommodation on the other side of London and a taxi to take us there. We had arrived 2 hours before the Opening night of London 2017 Athletics. I refused to be transferred until after we had been to the games. On arriving back we waited 30 mins for a taxi to take us to St Paul's. The staff at Stratford either had no clue what they were doing or we just not caring. I will leave a separate review for St Paul's (Queen St) as they were excellent. We booked many months before hand. You couldn't help but feel we were being moved to free space at Stratford so they could charge treble the rates due to the games. I also see I'm not the only one to review negatively at the same time. Whilst we queued to be attended to on arrival, the 4 reservations in front of us had the same thing done to them. Simply dreadful. Collapse

I had checked-in to Marlin Apartment, Stratford in the beginning of July 2017. My experience with Marlin Apartment for one month is the same as I have read the reviews. With 2-3 railway tracks and a road just next to the apartment, it is a difficult place to live with all the noise 24/7. The place was very hot and humid and you can’t keep the door open for the noise and flies. I didn’t have a good sleep for first few nights as my apartment was on the side of Roads and Railway Tracks. After complaining about the same I was shifted to another room facing the courtyard, after 4 days. This room was sort of, okay to stay for a couple of days but not up to the standard for a business travel. Here are some of the issues and challenges I had to face in Marlin apartments, Stratford: • Cleanliness - Carpets were very dirty. Spider nets around the place. The floor under the Sofa, Tables, and Bed was not cleaned for months together. • Cigarettes stinking – Bathroom was stinking cigarettes until they changed the bin after complaining multiple times for 5 consecutive days. • No weekly replenishment of consumables – All Consumables like, soap, shampoo, body lotion etc. are supposed to be replenished on daily or weekly basis during the scheduled service and I have seen this happening in all Serviced Apartment where I have stayed during last 11-12 years, but this was not the case with Marlin Apartments. • No weekly change of Bed sheets and linens – Again bed sheets and other linens are usually changed during the Weekly Service in any serviced apartment, but here sometimes they didn’t even change the old bed sheets and linens. • No Tea bags and Milk – Though they have a teapot and they have the same listed in their amenities, but they would not give you tea bags, sugar, milk etc. after initial few days. • Inadequate Lighting – Most of the electric bulbs in the ceiling were not working. I had to complain for more than one week before the bulbs were replaced. • Pathetic Customer Service – Any of my concern or issues were not addressed at one time. I had to complain multiple times to get anything sorted out. Tanim was the only guy at the Front Desk who was very helpful. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Collapse
Who knows what it would have been like had they actually honoured the booking!

Booked this 10 months ago for the athletic world championships next weekend. Had a phone call a week before to say that due to "maintenance" they would have to relocate us next weekend and that all the bookings for next weekend have had to be changed. Strange that you could book the apartment for the night before our stay and for the night after and that the rates are nearly double what we paid. To make matters worse the alternative offered in Canary Wharf was £200 cheaper if booked separately, needless to say we were not offered the cheaper rate. As we managed to get alternative accommodation in Stratford, we may well swing by the appartments next weekend just to check how the "maintenance" is going. Have used Marlin before, but will not use them in the future. Collapse

I booked a one bed apartment last August as I managed to get tickets for the Athletics this August. I received a phone call yesterday telling me that the apartment was no longer available due to maintenance! I was offered alternative accommodation but it was quite a distance from the venue and would have been very inconvenient! I now have one week to secure alternative accommodation close to the venue. I do not understand how the company did not know that this maintenance was taking place and to notify me with just a week to go is not acceptable! I would not book with this company again and would advise caution if you chose to book as you could be let down at very short notice! Collapse
