Had an apartment on 1st floor and i felt like i was literally on top of the tube. Place was trembling every 3 mins. The garbage in the alley outside my windows was being collected at 3am. No need to set an alarm

We booked to come down to celebrate my mums 60th birthday in December and to also visit the Christmas markets here is our review broken down: Location: Location is great, a 5 minute walk from the underground and obviously you can go anywhere with this. There are a load of restaurants around including Gordon Ramsey's restaurant where we had breakfast which was lovely. Check-in: We arrived pretty early and we understood that check in is after 2 pm so they have enough time to clean the rooms etc. So they had a room where you could keep your bags, we done this and went out for the day. Upon returning we checked in finding out that we have to pay an extra deposit of £200. This was not in the small print as my sister used a groupon voucher and read over the terms and conditions. As we had no where else to stay we obviously paid this money. They do not take it out just freezes in your account if there is any problem after check out. The staff members wasn't really that helpful to be honest and the customer service was no it's best. She had no concern other than receiving the payment. Room: Room was big enough for the 3 of us, my mum and sister shared the bedroom and I had the sofa bed. Warning to anyone using the sofa bed it's really uncomfortable the mattress is very thin. The kitchenette was average the same in any other apart-hotel. The bathroom was ok, the door however did not shut properly and neither did the connecting door right next to it going into the lounge so there was no privacy. The shower head was covered in limescale and the shower had mould in the corners of the base unit. The shower was pretty powerful which was nice. Misc: There is a dominos right below the hotel. Apparently you can smell this from the lower ground floors (reading other reviews) but we were high up so didn't have an issue. There is a tablet in your room which is a guide of London we thought was pretty useful for people who haven't been to London enough to know what to do. Overall an ok visit I wouldn't say it's a memorable place. I would probably no revisit only because of the £200 deposit we had to pay. It made us worry that there would be some sort of scam so we took pictures of the entire room to show what it was like before we even used it. Collapse

Hubby booked this place for four nights (one of which was the tube strike so we couldn't book anywhere we would normally stay). I stayed for one night. The location was ideal for us, being both near his work and near my daughter. I turned up on the Tuesday afternoon, the lady on the desk was very nice. Hubby said not to expect much, it was a bit basic and the cleanliness wouldn't pass muster. To be honest I quite liked the place, it was great to have a kitchen, and this was very well equipped, the sofa was comfortable and the bathroom was a decent size with a tub. We were on the second floor and there was some tube noise, but it didn't bother us, it sounded a bit like someone walking past with a suitcase on wheels, and the building didn't shake. The apartment was warm (this was January, and the heating was off), there is no air con, so we were very grateful for the large fan supplied. There were definitely some issues with cleaning, whilst it was okay, there were some areas that needed attention, the microwave had not been wiped down outside and it was sticky, the bathroom sink was not great, and there was dust on top of all the wall hangings and mirrors. The windows were filthy, but I appreciate being situated in the city would make them dirty quickly. The two worst things about the apartment (and the reason I wouldn't stay again) was firstly the size of the double bed, it was tiny, I am 5'6" and my feet dangled off the edge (my poor husband who is 6'2", had most of his leg hanging off the end) the pillows were also horrendous, flat hollow fibre which had seen better days and really need replacing. Secondly something that is mentioned regularly if you read the reviews, was the lack of hot water. After a day traipsing around London I was really looking forward to a soak in the bath. I left it running for 5 mins or so and when I came back it was just stone cold. I emptied it and ran it again, experimenting I realised that if I let it run at a small trickle it would come out warm, but this was ridiculous, it would have taken an hour to run the damn thing. This is clearly an issue at the apartments and they really need to address it. So in conclusion, if you are staying for one night on business (and don't mind a cold shower) and if you get a good price, then stay here, but it wasn't for us. Collapse

Last trip of 2016 to London and once again stayed at the Marlin Apartments in Queen Street . As usual Dorin , Alex & Michelle made my stay a memorable one . Before I discovered this place I stayed at hotels all over London but nothing compares to the freedom and flexibility these apartments provide . They have everything you could need and provide privacy and quietness while having access to the whole of London on your doorstep . Staff always helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble . Will most certainly remain as my favourite place to stay in 2017 Collapse
