I don't even know where to start! This place is fantastic. My partner and I live in England. His home town and family live not far from the Marine. We decided to have our wedding in Ireland. I was hesitant at first to plan something mainly over the phone and email but I had nothing to worry about! Our first visit was when we were checking out a couple of venues whilst visiting family! Before anyone even knew we were there to enquire about a wedding the service was first class, a wedding was in the process of being set up and they let us have a sneak peak! Once we had booked the reception the communication was brilliant. In the run up to the wedding I dealt mainly with Philip, general manager. He is great, nothing is a bother and he was full of useful advice and recommendations! As we had 50 people coming over from England we decided to put on a meal the night before, as more or less everyone was staying at the marine. The service this night was great and Joseph, operations manager, was present the whole evening checking everything was okay. The morning of the wedding was great! We had requested breakfast to the room for the bridal party and it was fab, full fry! We also needed an extension lead which was bought up straight away and 5 minutes later we needed a reading printed out, which again was bought straight up to the room! Upon arrival back to the hotel after our ceremony we were greeted by a red carpet and Phillip and Joseph, who were absolutely fabulous, bringing out matts for me to stand on rather then get my dress dirty and Phillip also walked up to the sea front whilst I was getting my pictures took with a shawl incase I was cold! The beautiful library area had been reserved for our family photos and the shortbread and scones at the reception were lovely! Now when we booked the wedding, Phillip had explained that their food is all cooked and served freshly which can mean that food doesn't come out super fast...he needn't have said anything! Not only was the food incredible, but it was bought out like clockwork and cleared away just as quick! The team serving the food were great and Joseph over saw the whole process with such detail! Eoin did our master of ceremonies and was great! He was relaxed and did a great job! Also the bar staff! Everyone loved the bar staff, they were all so friendly and even shed a tear at the speeches! Big shout out to Paddy, who was on the bar the whole weekend! The team on reception also deserve a mention! All so lovely and friendly, nothing too big of an ask and were a welcome face each time we passed! Massive thankyou to housekeeping who moved a whole heap of stuff from my room in the morning to the honeymoon suite! I could go on and on! So to round it off we would like to say the biggest thankyou to all involved at the Marine Hotel for making our wedding truly perfect! If someone asked me if I could go back and change anything, the answer would be ... NO. It was that prefect. Thankyou!! Collapse

We were lucky enough to have purchased a Groupon deal for a 1 night stay for 2 with breakfast for £49! Hard to beat! This is a lovely location & my husband & I treated ourselves to a Sunday night stay (no kids, no cooking!) always a bonus. We were on the first floor & our room had been recently refurbished to a really nice standard - stylish & clean still with a feel of the "old". All the staff we encountered we very friendly & helpful (good Co. Antrim folk). We had a drink & ate in the bistro - food was extremely tasty & in pleasant surroundings. Our breakfast was fine & my only recommendation would be to improve upon the coffee offered (there is a Costa located in the foyer of the hotel) and possibly this would be an option with breakfast? Ballycastle itself is very attractive & has some lovely wee pubs & shops which are worth trying. We would certainly go back again for a short stay. Lovely to see tourists about obviously on the Game of Thrones visit. We stopped at the Dark Hedges en route to the coast road & a beautiful drive home to Larne. Collapse

My daughter booked her wedding at the Marine hotel , travelling from England we brought 50 Guests with the majority staying here. I can't thank everyone enough who work at this hotel for their efforts in making her wedding day run as smoothly as it did. The staff were all so friendly and helpful ,from reception ,to waitress and bar staff ,they all made our stay memorable. Big thank you to Joseph who co ordinated the whole event , as father of the bride I had complete confidence in him that everything was going to go to plan. We will defiantly be back to stay here when we visit our new Irish family. The main wedding room was amazing.Anybody thinking of booking a wedding here will not be disappointed ! John Howard Collapse

My wife and I stayed at the Marine Hotel on a Groupon deal, all staff including reception, bar and waiting were very helpful and accommodating. We ate in the bistro one night and food was reasonable, however the menu was completely different to the one advertised on the website and displayed in the lobby, when we received our bill I noticed an extra drink on it when I brought this to the waiters attention it was removed without any issues, however I did overhear another customer with the same complaint, possibly coincidental, I don't know. Our room was clean, basic but very cold one small radiator really wasn't sufficient to heat a room with draughty windows. This hotel has apparently gone through a recent refurbishment, if so they have forgotten about the bedroom corridors, it's like going back in time, dirty carpets and dated, worn green doors throughout. The highlight of our stay was breakfast, great quality and cooked breakfast to order, not a buffet (great and rare to see nowadays) Collapse
