Fantastic hotel . been lots of times . booked originally with Thomsons as a holiday in 2007. since then we have been back on 7 more occasions and booked with various outlets - Expedia and Booking.com amongst others. never had a problem. This time for a break in 2017 i had booked with ON THE BEACH but this is false advertising as on chasing up my booking done three days ago i was told by Kelly that there is no room at this hotel with their suppliers but if you look today they are still advertising that there is room and you can book with them going through the routine of payment details only to be told by them at a later date that there is no availability but they can find you an alternative hotel.!! read into this what you want!!!! I believe that this is a ploy to get you to book with them but you wont get what you asked for. Only my opinion. Collapse

Stayed here for 6 nights (20th to 26th October), 2 adults and 2 children (boys aged 13 and 9). We really enjoyed our holiday, it was really lovely chilled six nights away. No hassle, no stress. Nice hotel. Our two boys enjoyed it, made friends etc. Don’t worry if you have booked this hotel as there is nothing to worry about, it is a decent clean hotel, with lovely friendly helpful staff in an excellent location and with decent facilities. We disagree that this is a four star hotel, this is more like a three star. In fact we have stayed in better three star hotels. Saying that we still enjoyed our time here and the hotel and holiday was all good. We booked independently through the hotel website after booking Easyjet flights. After looking in to transfers we decided to jump in a taxi at the rank. There was no queue when we arrived, the taxi took around 25 minutes and cost us 42E. When we arrived we asked the receptionist about booking our return taxi, they asked to come back 24 hours before departure which we did and they booked our return taxi for us. The return was booked 2.5 hours before our flight time and the taxi driver was outside waiting for us ten minutes before the arranged time. The taxi cost us 37E and took about 25 minutes. We had an early morning flight and arrived at the hotel at around 11am. First impressions were good. The man on Reception was really friendly and welcoming and our room was ready. Room – Our room was on the first floor overlooking the pool area. The room was clean and adequate but not much space. As others have mentioned there were four single beds pushed together in a row. One bed was up against the balcony doors. TV channels included ITV, BBC, Cbeebies etc. Shampoo, conditioner, soap and a small hairdryer provided in the bathroom. Rooms were quite noisy, could hear next doors TV, people in corridor, people round pool etc. Pools – We tended to use the main pool. The sun shines on the beds furthest away from the building first then moves round and by midday those beds opposite the main building are in the shade and the beds next to the building are in the sun. The sun beds in the sun the longest were on the right (coming out of the building) closest to the steps/slope going down to the other pools. Pool was freezing but expected this time of year, there were still plenty of children in though. Our eldest son hurt his hand one day in the pool (just a small cut) and the lifeguard was brilliant. Put antiseptic on and checked if he was okay later in the day, absolutely brilliant. There were plenty of sunbeds round the pool (although this wasn’t peak season) but if wanted decent ones I would go down round about the time the doors open to ensure get them. We didn’t queue for beds, I went down just after 8.30 every day and the ones I wanted were available. I am guessing this would not be the case in the summer as for the size of the hotel would guess there aren’t enough beds for guests. The smaller pool seemed to get more sun but was more suitable for younger children. The bottom pool had a little waterpark for really young kids. Also there was a park and sports pitch there too. Entertainment went on round the main pool throughout the day but we preferred not to participate and weren’t really bothered by the animation team. Music playing round the main pool all day. Staff – Staff were friendly, helpful and could not really fault them. They are an asset to this hotel. Reception staff, life guards, cleaning staff, bar staff, animation team etc all really lovely . The Thomas Cook reps do not have much of a presence in the hotel (we only saw the kids clubs reps twice and did not see any other reps). In other Thomas Cook family hotels we have stayed in they have been round the pool, doing party dances etc. Also we did not see Lollo or Bernie during our entire stay. No presence or party dances here. Food/Restaurant – This was very disappointing, we felt the food was of poor quality and was lacking choice. The restaurant was dire, chairs were in a complete state and torn with bits ripped and hanging off them. Breakfast was probably the best meal, plenty of choice, food hot with the usual selections. Lunch/evening meals were not great. We have stayed in a lot better three star hotels for food choices/quality. Basically there were two, three maximum hot main dishes to choose from each lunch time/evening. Starters consisted of a couple of cold meats and couple of salad choices and soup. Sweets were okay but not much choice. Themed nights did not stick to the theme, there was only a couple of choices each evening. The food wasn’t cooked that great and didn’t taste great. Even the gala night that people mention on here was mediocre. A real let down and think the hotel need to improve on this. Food/Snackbar – Food here was really nice but the usual snackbar stuff. Burgers, hotdogs, buns, pizzas, chips, sauces, salad etc. We all preferred the food here to the restaurant on a lunch time. Snacks – Lollies and ice cream available throughout the day from the bar. Drinks – Only soft drinks and slush were self-service. No alcoholic drinks were self-service (I found this odd as in every all inclusive hotel we have stayed in the lager, wine and sangria has been self service). Think having self-service minimises queues and maximises happy customers. Queues weren’t too bad but I can imagine in the summer this wouldn’t be the case. The usual choice of drinks and spirits included in the all inclusive. The cocktails were the pre made ones, but were really nice. Evening entertainment – This was good, mini disco (by Hotel) followed by outside entertainment some evenings. We saw a group of singers, Irish dancers, snake show, bird show and a magician while we were there. All good, apart from the magician where part of his act was inappropriate for young kids as mentioned by other reviewers. He needs to either not include this bit of his act while performing in a family hotel or no longer be working in this hotel. When the weather wasn’t great the entertainment was inside and there weren’t enough seats. I can imagine when the hotel is full this is the same for the outside stage area also. Location – This hotel has a fab location, really close to Palma Nova and Magaluf. If you walk out the hotels main entrance and turn left, walk down the hill a short way and you are at the beach and in the centre of Palma Nova. Takes less than 5 minutes. The hill coming back up is fine, not steep and not too big. If you don’t turn off for the beach and keep walking you are in centre of Magaluf in another couple of minutes. When we were there the party people had gone home so not wild at all. We had some lovely walks along the promenade/beach/main areas. You can also get to the two resorts by turning right when come out of the hotel. You will come to a steep hill and if you turn right down the hill you will be in the centre of the strip, this hill is much harder to walk back up but still okay. Alternatively, if come out of the hotel and turn right then take the first right down a side street (at the side of the hotel), then turn left you will be in the middle of the same huge bank. Other – Wifi in the hotel was very hit and miss. Could only get it in the reception area or bar area (if sitting near reception) and was very intermittent. Weather – Weather was mixed, overcast a lot of the time but still warm. Rained a couple of times but just showers. Not a lot of sun and didn’t come back with a tan. Have been to Majorca October half term other years and a lot warmer and sunnier so think we were just unlucky. So this is a canny 3 star hotel with great staff and great animation team, nice pools, clean hotel and rooms, good facilities, lots going on. Food needs improving as do the size of the rooms. We really enjoyed our few days away. This is a decent hotel. As we enjoyed our time here said we would go again. Enjoy! Collapse

We stopped 25 october for 4 nights booked through althams of wakefield. We flew on a monarch plane arrived 10.30 in the evening only 31 on the plane but everything seemed to be going so slow like the setting off from leeds bradford airport and the transfer was very slow at that time of day you just want to get there. We were left a cold snack in the restaurant which was at best fair. The bar stays open till 12 which was a bonus. On our return we were picked up by our coach for our transfer to the airport which is probably 10 miles away 4 1/2 hours before were due to fly that was ridiculous. Now for the middle bit the holiday we were here same time last year this year was way better it was busier with entertainment on every evening and warm enough to sit out each night.Weather was warm during the day so this does help. The breakfast was ok dinner was fair but the evening meal was very good and a microwave was available if requred. All staff were very good and helpful. As a 4 star hotel why do you have to pay for wifi and safety deposits to keep people coming to this hotel make it free as the safe is already in the room and stop charging extra for newspapers and crossing the price out.The pools are excellent especially for the kids. The animation team seemed a good set with low key things going on through the day.Yes the chaurs were a bit grotty in the dining room and the rooms are a bit basic (ask for pool view)but we were out and about so we dont think a lavish room was needed then again if the weather was poor then it may cause concern. The hotel is very central and only a few minutes walk from 2 good beaches.Tax was 13 euros for us two for four nights plus the holiday was150 dearer than last year plus safety deposit and wifi papers overcharging people wont be able to afford this hotel so think to the future and look after you future guests and provide wifi and boxes free of charge and provide water and milk daily in the rooms. We travelled as a group of 4 adults and 2 children from Cardiff to stay at this hotel in 2014. The location was absolutely brilliant as it is situated between Magaluf and Son Matias (The concrete bollards tell you what town you are in). There is a supermarket about 50m down the hill and the nearest beach is about 300m down the hill in Son Matias. The rooms are modern looking and cleaned very well. Reception and management is efficient and friendly. The food is good yet there could be more of a range (the tapas evening was brilliant). One night we went to the Al la Carte restaurant onsite, the food was a bit too salty. All in all I would recommend a stay at this hotel, I rate the hotel 5* if the food was of a slightly better standard. Collapse
