We are Signature members, but could only get a three bed apartment on Marina Del Sol. Even though we booked early in Feb this year. It was basic, no welcome pack when we arrived not even milk for tea and all shops closed until Monday! Every time we have stayed before there was one, but no apparently if you stay in Marina Del sol. I have to say the worst thing about CLC for me is the awful hard beds! I usually end up on the sofa bed with a pile of blankets under me. This year we were told that you can request a softer mattress or even a topper! You will have to really moan to get the mattress though! We found the swimming pools great this side, surrounded by gardens not just concrete. And private to the surrounding blocks. Food wise Safari takes the crown for us, we tried the new so called flagship restaurant Sunset. My advice don't bother, cold plates, unsatisfactory food that was cold, not cooked as ordered (steaks) over salted and definitely over priced. Even a plate of half cooked cod! The private Restaurant beside the reception is delightful, inexpensive and delicious food well presented on hot plates. Getting around - it's easy with a car, loads to see and do. Highly recommend a trip to Mijas, Porto Banus, the market in La Cala Mijas and of course Gib if you fancy a longer trip. The Biopark in town is worth a visit too. We will of course be back but to California Suites. Sorry Marina Del Sol just need a bit more luxury and some milk on arrival ! Collapse

We have had a lovely time. Beautiful resort if a way out, but having a car has meant we have got to see a lot of lovely local resorts. A little disappointed with the trial membership as wanted them to prove they would look after us even at this level. However now struggling to book a holiday for next year. Shame that those with doubts are cast aside rather than trying to prove them wrong and therefore getting them to join too. We have looked at other web based holiday companies and for the maintenance cost we could have a two week holiday at a Club la costa resort every year. I believe in Complete honesty and don't feel we've had it. If you want a lovely resort away from the hustle and bustle this is for you. But if you're on a trial week beware. Collapse
Better places to stay in town.....

Stayed with my family in October 2016. Be aware that when you book this resort the photographs and description relate to the timeshare apartments. People who rent (e.g.via expedia) are located in blocks to the south of the site next to the service area and fronting the motorway. Also be aware that not all of the rooms have air conditioning as advertised. We were put into room 16A which is directly above the service area for the resort. Staff and maintenance workers start on site at 8am and work until 10pm. There is a constant stream of workers and vans coming and going slamming doors, talking loudly etc. On our second night my sons could not get to sleep for a group of workers standing directly next to our window playing music on their phone and taking loudly. The staff have absolutely no consideration that they are in a guest area. We witnessed staff staring at guests sunbathing, taking pictures, smoking and being aggressive to guests parking in the service area (there are no parking signs but the lane is constantly filled with vans and staff vehicles). There was also a skip when we arrived. On the third day we managed to move room. The room was similar, but had air conditioning and was ground floor (i.e. more appropriate for a group with young children). The rooms are fairly standard and pretty dated, no more than a 2 or 3 star. The rooms are in need of decoration and modernising (i.e. woodchip on walls and a tape deck!). If you have mobility issues please be aware that the resort is very hilly and there are no pavements in many sections of the road. There are no speed limits in resort and the staff and taxis do speed. The hills didn't bother us, but we were concerned about the speed of vehicles. If you are happy sitting by a pool all day and going to the same restaurant every night, this place is probably OK. But its remote location, busy road and dated rooms are not for me. There are far better places in town. Zacharys is pretty good for meals and the staff are great. Avoid the restaurant next to reception, the staff are rude and the food is inedible. There were other restaurants within the complex, but the one we went to was closed as it was off-season. Also be aware that they will try and get you to check out at 10am. Check in is not until 4pm, ask for a late check out. Collapse

RCI or direct bookings this place is a diamond. Great staff n great prices will book again. Lots of things for kids to do and adults can fine dine in peace. I had apartment 512 and it was beautiful and as an ex inspector the only poor thing is transfers to airport they do not help unless there's 20 guests going so if like us you had a stupid am flight the train from fuengirola to Malaga airport doesn't start till after 6am and a taxi for 4 persons will cost about 45 Euro per cab, my advice taxi to train station on the last train and wait at airport but be sure to take warm clothes as no one seems to care if your freezing all the doors are open and you will be chilled to the bone. We got the 23:15 train to arrive at 00:15am and we waiting till 4am to check in as there are no staff as the first flight to take off is at 6am and they r in no rush rest assured. If u need any tips give me a message I'll be glad to help. Above all the transfer nonsense this hotel is still my favourite and I own at sunset beach club and this place tops it Collapse

Booked 9 nights with my partner at Club La Costa World staying at Pueblo Marina apt 18B great location and not too many steps or hills to climb this resort might not suit those with walking difficulties Our first time in Costa del Sol and we will certainly be back asap We arrived late greeted and checked in by Sonia who was so pleasant and give us all the necessary info for our stay we were then driven to our apt and helped with our luggage by a lovely young man (sorry forgotten his name) and given brief instruction on how things worked in the apt. Our apartment was very well equipped kitchen had fridge freezer four ring hob and full oven lots of crockery cutlery washing up liquid tea towels dishcloth and candles and matches for romantic dining on the balcony A lovely touch The double bed was very comfortable and spacious had lots of storage space and an excellent ceiling fan The bathroom had a good shower over bath storage space and a washing machine The lounge/dining area had a very comfortable couch chair coffee table lamp and tv with English channels but we didn't have it on very much The balcony was huge with wonderful sea views it had 4 chairs table two reclining loungers and an umbrella which was a necessity as early as 9am as we had breakfast outside The beach was easily accessible just few mins walk thus is a huge resort beautiful grounds a d spotlessly clean we took advantage of the little train that runs all day to get us to Sunrise and Sunset to enjoy a mid morning coffee and the wonderful entertainment at night There is a good supermarket on the way to the beach. Sams Pantry is located beside reception serves delicious pies pastries wines and essentials. There is also a private restaurant next to Sams Pantry ( can't remember name) we had a beautiful meal there its best to book we also ate at Zacarys and enjoyed the entertainment on two evenings. A change of bedding towels toilet paper tractors was left at our apt door while we we out and the cleaning lady was more than helpful to ensure we had everything we needed We had minor maintenance problems the kettle handle overheated and toaster didnt pop up but they were quickly changed an overnight electrical problem was very promptly rectified by very pleasant and apologetic staff Overall a wonderful holiday sunshine every day close to Fuengirola and Marbella we also took a day trip to Gibraltar which was very enjoyable We had late flight home and really appreciated the two hour check out extention and provision of a courtesy apt for a shower and change before departing for Malaga airport Thank to Sonia Nora Uri and all the staff at Club La Costa World for a wonderful detail holiday Collapse
