The apartments are quite basically equipped but are clean and bright. Our main concern was the overpowering fragrance of air/fabric spray which irritated my husbands allergies but when speaking with the day duty manager he very kindly offered to prepare an unoccupied apartment with the instructions for the cleaning staff not to spray. MUCH HAPPIER. Every member of staff we encountered was polite and friendly, especially a young lady on reception . The pool was checked daily by the maintenance staff and was immaculate. Collapse

Stayed for a week in Maribel Apartmentos. Overall, I gave this establishment a 5/5 because it was a very enjoyable stay. Staff-5/5 They were very friendly and helpful and answered any questions we had. Food-5/5 There are many other places to eat outside of the resort itself, if you're looking for variety, however the resort offers a snack menu, a dinner menu and two buffets, one in the morning and one at tea time. As we chose bed and breakfast, I can't vouch for the dinnertime buffet, however the breakfast buffet had a large variety of continental and English foods, including Sausage, Eggs, Bacon, Iberian Ham and local cheese. The lunch and dinner menus had a decently sized selection of foods. Everything we tried was very nice. Rooms- 4/5 Our rooms were clean, modern and well equipped with a TV, Air conditioning for the living/common room, a toaster and a Kettle. The bathroom was clean, with a large shower. The beds were clean and comfortable to sleep on. My only issues were a lack of air conditioning in the bedrooms, and the amount of noise generated by the local bars and restaurants. Pool- 4/5 There are two pools, one for dmall children and one for older children and adults. The larger pool is rather deep, at 2 metres at its deepest point. The pool area was very quiet upto 4 pm, when it generally more busy. There is a large number of sunbeds with parasols. The pools were cleaned every day, making them nice and clean. Collapse

Stayed for 2 weeks from 30th May 2017 and had room MA6 which is first floor above the gift shop below, balcony looked out onto Avda de la Playa and the kiddies playground. the pool at maribel was to our right. The apartment was one bedroom with a kitchen and lounge area, bathroom opposite the bedroom. Lots of space and contained everything we needed. Kitchen had a microwave, toaster, hot plate (Halogen) cooker, ironing board and iron, but no electric kettle. I understand we could have requested one but made do with the microwave as we only made the odd hot drink. Bathroom was large and had a shower over the bath, soap and shower gel was provided in dispensers, and the apartment was regularly left toilet rolls. These arrived same day as the towels which seem to have been changed about every three days. We had bed linen changed twice during our stay. No cleaning was done by the staff so be prepared to use the dustpan and brush provided. A mop was also there for use in the bathroom. The air conditioning was free to use (remote in room) as was the wifi, you need to obtain a code from reception for the latter which states it is valid for 7 days. In reality with three devices using the code it ran out after three days so had to obtain new codes. We were more frugal after that but I guess you could just keep asking for new codes as we were just handed them on requst. In the lounge is a television, dvd player and satellite box. Again remotes are left in the room but we could not find any English channels so it had minimal use. On arrival you will be asked to pay the 'holiday tax' that is obligatory on the island. Amount is based on length of stay and key rating. Maribel is 2 key so 1 euro per day per head for first 8 or 9 days, then half that for the reminder of your stay. If you want the safety deposit box in your room, as we did, cost was 10 euro for 2 weeks plus a refundable deposit of 10 euro. Bear in mind reception only operates between 10am and 10pm so you may need to reclaim your deposit the night before you leave. Within a 2 minute walk of Maribel are 2 supermarkets selling pretty much everything you will need. Expect to pay the slightly inflated prices common in most resorts. Also within the same distance are some very good eateries. A couple of them offer a 10 euro meal deal, don't be put off by the price, meals tend to be similar in size and quality to the normal menu items. I won't discuss each one here as I intend reviewing them all individually in time. Close by were Laurel & Hardys, Jennys, Nautilus, Raj Indian, Il Vespro and The Blarney Stone. Tonys Bar is here too but is exactly that. A really good chinese (Wai Wai) was only a 5 minute walk away on the road towards the cove. Don't let the appearance of the place put you off, food was delicious and cooked to your specification - you will always be asked how spicy you want certain dishes. Around the cove were some more restaurants, Calablanca, Se Cova and Miramar. A couple of bars are here too, Sa Petita, Xiringo and Hola Ola. The bus stop opposite Maribel is where you catch the bus to Cuitadella, cost is 1.65 euro each way. Buses were hourly Mon-Sat and slightly less frequent on Sundays with a gap late evening every day. There is also a once a day bus to Cala N Bosch that seemed to have two runs to bring you back, early afternoon and early evening. Cala Blanca itself is very residential with no seafront promenade, but the views of the sunset (and thunder storm in our case) is very special from in front of The Blarney Stone and Il Vespro. there are some closed properties near to the cove (El Mirador and Key West) that spoil the overall tidiness of the area, both are a bit of an eyesore in an otherwise very tidy environment. As mentioned by another reviewer, the pool at Maribel is popular with locals and those from other hotels nearby. For this reason the pool area is busy and noisy most afternoons and all of the weekend. Another attraction for the locals is the Maribel soft play area, free to use by anyone as long as they purchase a drink or snack. While we were there Maribel also hosted wedding receptions, kids parties and even a Holy Communion meal. This resort is not geared to action packed holidays, but if you want somewhere to chill and relax, it will be ideal for you. The only caveat is that Maribels pool area may not always be as quiet as the resort. Collapse
