This hotel is a little of the strip. It offers free shuttle service to and from the airport and the strip. The shuttle service is provided by one minibus, we had to wait 1.5 hours to be picked up at the airport, and close to 2 hours when we went to the strip the second time. The first time we waited just 10 minutes, so if in a hurry do ask the hotel for when it will be going to your destination. The hotel is quite old and the rooms do need renovations. We bought slippers and was very happy that we did since the carpets on the floor felt as it was full of sand. The rooms are quite big and the one we got had two double beds in it. I would suggest that the hotel closes down a few of the rooms at a time and renovate them. If they do not start renovating I think they will not get many customers in the future. The breakfast do cost extra, and the selection is not very great. The staff in the breakfast area was there mainly to hand out the bill, when asked for anything they did not know. Collapse

Hotel was perfect location for us as we were going to the Convention Centre for Trade show! We were able to walk there no problem! Room at the Mardi Gras was fair size, clean, a little dated... had a fridge a little kitchenette... pool was good size, hot tub perfect! Was awesome having shuttle to and from airport (nice feature- drivers were very friendly and helpful) also shuttle to Bally's(only till 10:00pm) but great feature! Hotel was reasonably priced a little away from strip but nice having shuttle feature!! We found it quiet! Food was adequate, happy hour with 1/2 $ apps and drinks from 4 to 6! Staff were very friendly, grounds kept clean! Casino area VERY small... hotel caters to European guests ... You are within a block or two from a convenience store and a few restaurants... The breakfast buffet consisted of waffles, cereal, sausage, eggs and hash browns, yogurt, fruit, toast, muffins, cold hard boiled eggs, coffee, tea, juice... for $8.99. The main restaurant had a breakfast menu but we didn't go! Was awesome that they charge $5.00/day resort fee unlike the others $25-35/day!! We with definitely stay there again!! Collapse

It was horrid. I didn't even last five minutes there. I arrived pretty late, and the place looked very unsafe. When I eventually found my room, only one lamp worked in the far corner of the room. I had booked a suite, and it looked nothing like in the pictures. It was very bare and looked cheap (no better than a basic room in a Motel 6). I used the restroom and found a used cigarette inside the toilet. Considering I already felt unsafe there, the lack of cleanliness was like icing on the cake. I left my room key up there in the room and left to stay with a friend at her hotel. Do NOT stay here if you are alone. Collapse

Well where do I start, first of all there were 11 of us booked in to this hotel, we were there in April, some of the staff when booking in we're not very friendly, for goodness sake we had just done a whole days traveling. We were given our rooms, rooms were ok a bit worn out carpets could do with a good cleaning, I don't want to be to picky, we were there for a 70 birthday there were all age groups 40s 50s 60s. The next morning we came down for breakfast we were with Thomas cook, it says on are form buffet breakfast, we were told by the hotel, only virgin customers are allowed buffet breakfast, ok not hotels fault, so we tried to organise some kind of deal if we pay bait more can we have buffet breakfast, we were told we would have to pay the full price another extra 6dollers each to get a decent breakfast in a light room, the room where you get normal breakfast is a dark room where people smoke, we had a 14 yr old boy with us, ok you can smoke anywhere in vegas but really when your eating breakfast, so the hotel would not let us do a deal with breakfast, we were informed also the staff were not happy with the amount of money we were giving as tips, the manager of the hotel said the staff didnt want to serve us they were not happy with the tips we had only been there a day, another thing is there is a shuttle bus to take you to the strip, but some times he goes to the airport before he drops you of to pick other hotel guests up, second day at hotel, we came back to find are room had not been cleaned, we told reception, no one came second day, room had not been cleaned had to go down to cleaners my self to ask why are room had not been cleaned they couldn't answer are question, the 3day somebody came and i ended up putting pillow cases on for the cleaner. It wasnt friendly at all and I myself tried to be friendly with staff. We didnt eat any more meals in the hotel some of us went mcdonnalds for breakfast, we will not be returning back to this hotel, vegas was fantastic and I think everybody should see this wonderful place, the Mardi Gras is a cheap hotel and you get what you pay for, we didnt book this hotel ourselves I'm sorry i can not say anything nice but we are the ones who are upset, we got married while we were there, and can you imagine are disappointment, and another thing we could smell drugs coming out of a room that was 2 doors down from us, not nice, we no it is legal over there but don't want smell it, Collapse
