We stayed in a first floor room and it was dated but clean, the bottle of cava was a nice touch on arrival. The room overlooked the main road and was subject to a lot of traffic noise which was to be expected. The majority of British guests I later found out requested rooms on the seventh floor. The hotel was full of locals enjoying the festive break and took over the hotel, again not a problem as we are in Spain after all. The two restaurants are split and it was recommended to us that we use the lower restaurant, as it was more British!! We used both restaurants with only once being as by the head waiter if we would not prefer to use the other restaurant. In both restaurants they had the same type of food and to be honest the lower level restaurant was not as busy so we used this one more. There are 3 bars in the hotel, the pool bar on the seventh floor was nice and the waiters were very polite, the bar on the ground floor was a nice touch it was dark and played music all day and again the waiters were polite. Only criticism was that as soon as a few locals entered the bar the music changed to Spanish music which I thought was odd as this happened on serval occasions. The bar on the lowest level was a modern looking bar and was sold to us as a British bar, entertainment included bingo, quiz karaoke and a signer again it was a good bar. The majority of British in the hotel used this bar and has a local club feel to it. The location of the hotel is fantastic for the old town which is how Benidorm should be portrayed is amazing. Negatives: Room walls are very thin I was woken most mornings by what must have been a hard of hearing local listening to local television, I complained and knocked on the door a few times but the same every morning until they left. Not a great hotel if you cannot speak a little of the local language. Yes the hotel needs modernising and they are working on it, higher floors first. I would stay here again as the location is spot on for the Old Town Collapse

I have just come back from a new years break at the magic cristal with my family and friends ,we were greeted with a smile by all members of staff all over the hotel.we had 4 children in total in our party varying ages,a big plus was the gaming room and the kids all enjoyed the activities like pool and darts so didnt see much of them there is also a mini club for the very small ones.the hotel has a real sun trap on the roof with a great bar, there is also a pool (not heated) so if you are brave.the evening entertainment is led by sam who is amazing and makes sure everyone is enjoying themselves with singers ,quizes and karaoke which my daughter loved .anita behind the bar does an amazing job as do all the staff on all the bars even if it gets busy.the food at the hotel was great cant complain ,frank the restaurant manager was very friendly and the kids thought he was cool.the rooms were spotless and the beds made every day and towels changed if you wanted.the only negatives for us were no hairdryers in rooms but you can hire, also no sky sports.would love to come back to this hotel also enjoyed the location with it being near the old town. We were booked in to the the Cristal Park on the 17th December for a relaxing christmas break. We had booked through On the beach (on line travel company) unfortunately due to fog at Liverpool airport our easy jet flight was cancelled had to re-book flights the earliest was Mon 19th. When we eventually got home on the Saturday night late 2300 hrs, in the morning contacted the hotel to inform them on the situation was informed by them it was nothing to do with them and to contact On the beach which we did. On the Monday I was contacted back by on the beach two hours prior to flying informing me that due to Cristal Parks terms and conditions I was not entitled to stay in the hotel as I did not turn up when i was supposed to and would lose the booking and also was not entitled to refund £550 also because it was so late in the day and was travelling with young family and with the prospect of having no were to stay I had to pay another £430 to stay in the same hotel. When we arrived at the hotel i arranged to see the manager the following day. I explained the situation to her and she said that because I did not contact the hotel it was classed as a know show and that I had broke there rules , I explained that I did contact them but then was told to contact on the beach , the manager then checked her computer and said that they had only received one payment .Which was lies and then started blaming on the beach. When I asked for written conformation verifying this so that I had some proof to show on the beach she refused point blank with no other choice I left it at that hoping my holiday insurance would cover my losses, but obviously my holiday was ruined at the thought of being ripped off by the hotel. On the Thursday however I received a email from On the beach stateing that the hotel had refunded the money I suspect they applied some pressure but as you can imagine I was put under stress for four days thinking about it. I am writing this complaint to warn any other travellers that if your flight is cancelled you may find it difficult to get your money back from this hotel. As regards to hotell it was clean staff friendly .the food was ok always something to eat although "not too hot" , have had a lot nicer in other hotels. But I must say the quality of the alcoholic spirits was atrocious the cheapest quality going. Collapse

Sent New year in this hotel having been a previous guest of the Amigos Magic group I was expecting more from this hotel The reception was efficient at Check in time but was very busy in the mornings they have a limited ability to understand English and are poor at providing information on rooms and costs for extras like the safe. Shown to my single room that was very small and cramped no view and no air con that was working although not necessary in the winter months , more like a broom cupboard, the room was kept clean and apart from crammed space was comfy Restaurant was an adventure to fine its on the lower levels of the hotel for brit guests but you can use the Spanish one if you feel brave. food was reasonable but not very varied, breakfast was good English and continental range. Snaks on all inclusive not very imaginative , drinks on all inclusive are wide range from spirits to liquors such as tia maria / Baileys substitutes but about not full strength. Bar staff are very efficient and are the most friendly of the staff big thanks to Anita who tries hard to make guests happy Entertainment on all inclusive is held in the brits bar in the hotel called the Magic cafe, not as bad as usual all inclusive but nothing special needs a bigger budget overall i think the hotel needs a revamp and a deep clean as could see Cockroaches scattering around the restaurants so hate to think where else they may be seen, management did not seem concerned about this and were not able to talk English when it came to talking about serving temps. I would have said average in this rating but that would not be fair to an average hotel in Benidorm This hotel just needs a bit more management effort. then this hotel may be justified in charges they make.
