Just finished a 10 day holiday here, and despite some good points would not be returning to here or Benidorm. Arrival: After a good flight and transfer with Jet 2 we were greeted at the hotel by the most unhelpful receptionist ever, all I picked up was room not ready, machine over there has all other details. (There is one lady who works on reception who we met later in the week who was fantastic) Rooms: Rooms are fairly good, no balcony but we knew that and was not a huge issue, decent size and comfy beds, bathroom is small, but has a fantastic double head shower and seems to be no issue with hot water. Maids clean the room daily and you get fresh towels every day, fresh linen every 2 or 3 days. Hotel: the hotel in general is clean, it looks good with African theme throughout. The lift situation took a couple of days to get used to, as certain ones only go to certain floors, and my advice would be to not use the ones beside reception, they look nice as they are glass and you get great views of the surrounding area, however half the time one is broken and the other one takes forever. Food and Drink: The food was certainly no where near what you would expect from a 4 star hotel, breakfast was adequate, normal hotel stuff, lunch and dinner were terrible, Spanish food mostly but not very good Spanish food, kids selection not great either. The snack bar by the pool was a re-heated version of breakfast, pretty much exactly the same. The late night snack bar, well till 11.45, 15 minutes before entertainment finishes was dreadful, guess what it was re-heated dinner food!!!! The drink with the all inclusive option is fine, mostly branded and Estrella beer or Carling. However the company ploy is to not have enough bar staff on, so there is large queues at most of the bars! The chill out bar for adults on top floor looks very good (managed to pop up for 15 minutes) with stunning views of Benidorm. The all inclusive cards are a bit of a pain, why they don't just have bands, would be far easier, I assume it is a monitor drinks per person! Pools: Decent pool, but they are freezing! Mainly due to the fact that the sun only hits the hotel between 12 and 4, due to the huge hotels nearby, the slides up the top are very good, but only open 2 at a time and are not open as long as they are meant to be. If you have little ones who like water slides, take advantage of the fact that you can use the other Magic Hotels in the chain for the day and go to Magic Robin Hood, the pool and slides are fantastic! The pool is fairly clean but as it has a pool bar( although you will be lucky to get served) plastic cups and straws end up floating about all day. Entertainment: Was actually fairly good, kids disco is fine if a little late, a show on after it, magic, reptiles, birds, all fairly decent. In the English speaking bar there is a quiz, then entertainment hosted most nights by DJ Duggy, this is always a good show/laugh. Excursions: we went to the medieval night at Robin Hood, it was excellent and well worth a trip, the Benidorm circus is also really good. We also did Terra and Aqua natura, which were both very good. All in all it was decent enough , the food was terrible but we made the most of it, would not return and after walking up from the circus at the back of 8, the state of the Main Street , drunks all over the place, one guy who had been refused obviously, looked British, was rummaging about for the dregs in the bottom of beer cans that were dotted all over the place !!! We visted magic aqua rock gardens on the 15 July for a week as a family of 3 we have one seven year old daughter when we arrived room wasn't ready as others said but we went to the snack bar to eat which the food was awful! Rooms are very hot and have no balcony! But they are cleaned regular. lifts are a complete nightmare take ages to come and some only go to certain floors, hotel is huge and daughting at first! We basically only slept here and went out from morning till night to enjoy the holiday! The hotel staff are not helpful or friendly! Food wasn't good. Pools are ice cold and never warm up! I booked this holiday thinking my daughter could play on the slides but they are not for children of her age! Alot of children had cuts and scratches off them even seen one teenager get stuck mid slide because the water stopped! Also the hill doesn't look that bad but is awful in the heat I definitely would not book again! Collapse

Me, my husband and 9 year old daughter stayed her 07.07.17 till 14.07.17. What a great holiday it was!! The only thing I can say that is bad (if you can call it that) is we didn't have a balcony. But that far from ruined our holiday, after a day or so we didn't even notice. The food... Breakfast wasn't my cup of tea but saying that, I never went hungry. My daughter can be a funny eater and was totally fine. The pool snack bar is pretty basic for lunch so I would go to one of the main restaurants as there is much more verity. The entertainment was good. The more English entertainment is on the far side of the pool. The hotel was on of the cleanest I've stayed in. The pools and pool area was cleaned twice a day and all rooms was thoroughly cleaned, fresh bedding and towels everyday by the maids. 'CARDIAC HILL'.............. NO problem at all! Don't know what everyone seemed to moan at. If you have restricted mobility then I would give it a miss. All in all a brilliant holiday!! Some people just like to moan!!! Collapse
