We are here as I write this review We are staying on 6th floor our room is lovely with 2 large double beds and a sofa no balcony but we already knew that. Food and drink has been good no problems getting a table or with Long queues at the bar. Pool is cold but didn't bother our son . Entertainment a bit poor but we went out ,wifi poor in room but good in reception. You do get tea and coffee in your room we just had to ask reception and they brought kettle and cups up . Cleaners very good and plenty of hot water and fresh towel. We are having a good holiday and would come here again Collapse

Pool to cold for granddaughter so only stayed in a few minutes every day. Life guards grumpy they would go to snacks restaurantafter pool closed and hand the bread rolls everyday until they found the ones they liked .Most bar staff and waiters were friendly .You cudnt leave your drinks on the table and nip outside or to the loo without having the waiters collect them. enterment could be better for both adults and children .Food soso may granddaughter ate out at macdonalds every day despite being all inclusive. More variety for children needed in restaurant.Things had been stolen ie phones towels electric cigs.Room was nice . Collapse

The only good thing about the hotel is leaving it My family and I booked the hotel as it said it was a grate place for the kids i.e. Swimming pools and slides The swimming pool was ice cold and unusable I was told that's how all hotels are I asked to see the manager three times to be told she's not hear or she's at lunch? The slides are dangerous my son hurt is back quite bad and his head on another one The staff are very rude and unhelpful As well as very limited bar staff some times waiting 25 minutes for a drink which you have to stand in line to wait for (no waiters). The rooms are ok but you have to sit on the toilet side ways as the sink is in the way No kettle for tea making The lay out of the hotel is a bit confusing And the entertainment is very poor €30 for the safe witch is tiny and hard to get to You have been warned Collapse

Me and my partner stayed at the Magic Rock from 9th - 16th of May, we stayed in room 223 which was on the second floor so we wasn't too far away from the restaurants/pool etc so could use the stairs rather than waiting for the lifts (which took a while at popular times) Transfer - we travelled with Thomson and the coach stopped at the bottom of the hill where a minibus was waiting for us and took us up to the hotel (as the coaches cannot get up the hill) so this was no problem. It took around 45 minutes from Alicante airport as there are many coaches going to different hotels so they try and make it quick for you - there was our hotel and the flamingo oasis on our coach so it didn't take too long Location - the hotel is on top of the apparent 'cardiac hill' which is no where near as bad as everyone makes out. It gets a bit steep at the top but it's really not a struggle as we saw many elderly people managing just fine and families with prams etc, there is apparently another less steep route but we never needed to use this as the hill isn't bad at all Checking in - there are two sets of stairs to get to the reception from the entrance so we managed our cases before finding out a few days later there is a lift to the right (oops) and once at the top there was no arrival drink or anything but what can you expect, the check in was quick and easy although we were told our room wasn't ready for another hour and half, but we was pointed towards the locked luggage room and given our all inclusive cards so we could have a drink in the bar across from the reception Safe - the safe in the room is a double bolted lock and it was €3 a night and €20 deposit which we got back when checking out WiFi - the wifi was free and quite fast, could get it best in the reception/lobby area but it worked in our room (we were only on the second floor) you had to 'Like' them on Facebook for it to work Room - our room was surprising really nice and modern, had two huge double beds next to each other, a window (no balcony) and had a hair dryer in there as well. The shower is very strong which is good and plenty of storage for toiletries in bathroom and also plenty of coat hangers and wardrobe space along with tea and coffee making facilities All Inclusive - we had the ultra all inclusive gold cards, they were also your room key, we were given a card each (think you have to pay if you loose them) and you had to hand them over every time you wanted a drink at the bar (depending on the barman sometimes) I assume this is so they can track the drinks etc. Drinks - were proper branded alcohol Malibu tia Maria Smirnoff etc, also had carling although it tasted different in different bars sometimes it tasted like it was flat or watered down Food - there was two restaurants although we only ever used one the African virgen - breakfast was what you would expect, bacon sausages all types of eggs along with pastries and different types of breads and a toaster at the front, also with cereals etc always plenty to choose from. They also have a microwave in the restaurant if you wanted to warm your food up more although we never needed to use it Dinner was also what you would expect had plenty on offer chips burgers chicken etc along with salad bar and deserts on offer Tea was the same, cottage pies different meats pasta chips salad bar and different deserts on offer (particularly enjoyed the chocolate foundation with loads of different toppings) Pool area - was really nice although the due to all the buildings around the hotel there were spots that didn't get any sun, the pool was very cold at first but nice once you were in, pool bar was nice as well, also could go inside and get drinks without going in the pool wasn't too busy either (wasn't school holidays though I can imagine it would be busy with kids). Kids seemed to enjoy the slides and the huge TV screen above the pool as well Adult chill out area - this was our favourite area of the whole hotel, definitely it's selling point, it was open 12:00-18:00 had plenty of sun beds and also had four double beds with mattresses which was really nice as they were in the shade as well. Also has its own bar up there so isn't too busy along with a toilet at the other end and a jacuzzi as well, we were up there the whole day as there was no reason to go anywhere else (apart from food at dinner) nice views from up there as well. It is on the 12th floor although only one lift goes up to the very top the majority go to the 11th floor and then there's one set of short stairs to get further up. Night life - had mini discos in bigger of the two bars in the hotel, one was English speaking and the other predominately Spanish. These bars opened at 8 and closed at 12 (last chance to get a drink). Entertainment started at around 10, although we never bothered with this as we would go outside of the hotel at night. At the bottom of the hill there is a Burger King, McDonald's and a subway. There are then many restaurants and bars along the sea front to the left, although we tended to walk up the road and then turned left and went into morgans tavern (which is where Benidorm is filmed in Neptunes). The entertainment in there was amazing (especially the Queen band) it's about 10 minute walk once at the bottom of the hill and we used Flash Hotel as a landmark to get there using our iPhone maps (it was just across the road) and for those who want to go on the strip Morgan's Tavern is at the end of the strip, can get very rowdy at weekends with hens and stags but still a good night out. Would definitely recommend looking what is on in other bars such as comedians like Albi Senior. We also went to the Benidorm palace through Thomson which was €30 each for the ticket and transport there and back. We watched the Icons show which was really good Would definitely recommend this hotel to all types of families and couples it was spot on. Collapse
