I've stayed here for 26 nights for business and pleasure, checking out tomorrow :(. I had my wife and 3 young daughters with me. We are well traveled and have stayed at many hotels. This hotel is breathtaking and amazing. We stayed in villa 16 but had an AC problem in our room more than once. The managers took immediate action. The first time Viraf came to our room and offered us free dinner at Khaymat al Bahar. A few days later the AC broke again and special thanks to Muzaffar and Karan who both immediately helped and upgraded us to a suite! Karan suggested I keep the move to a suite a surprise for my family. On our way to change rooms my family thought we were going to another standard room and were so surprised when we walked into a suite! Again a special thanks to Muzaffar for helping us with a breakfast package. The service, lagoon views, abras, wild wadi, and restaurants are all amazing. Viera in Villa 16 and the cleaning guy in Villa 16 were amazing and very helpful. Every few nights my daugthers would walk into the room and find small jumeirah toys, keychains, and chocolate waiting for them. The doormen are amazing. Dickinson ALWAYS put a smile on my daughters faces when we arrived or left the room. He is a great asset to the hotel. I've stayed in so many hotels, the fact that I even know the names of the employees speaks for itself. Would I recommend this hotel? Yes without a doubt. I didn't get the half-board this year, but definitely plan to next time around. Oh yes, and my daughters loved the magician at the Hanaaya restaurant. We also really loved the souk here, it is a bit overpriced, but still very beautiful, clean, and easy to access. We went there for ice cream every few nights. Here are some few suggestions for the hotel: - a few times we had to wait for buggies a little longer than usual. This did not occur all the time, but it did happen and was a very slight inconvenience. - When they have free drinks from 6-8 have more options for kids. I did not like my children always drinking soda, but would have been nice to have healthier options like apple or orange juice. - From 6-8 have some more options instead of chips and nuts, or have it in small individual bags that kids can take to go. Often time it is always in a small bowl and very small portions. - The shuttle was very helpful, but if it ran every hour until mall closing time it would have been nice. We are definitely going to miss this place and already thinking of planning our next trip. Thank you to everyone at Dar al-Masyaf! Collapse

Our favourite place to stay!... once again we enjoyed every minute of our stay. The standard of service is impeccable. We stayed in villa 12 which is a great position, buggies on hand at a few minutes notice, taking us wherever we wanted to go. The Butler service was exceptional, Marcella and Marissa looking after us at all times making our time at the villa very relaxing. The restaurants, as always, giving us variety and exceptional quality, my favourite - the breakfast at Al Kaymat! Made all the more cheery by Collins....even in 50 plus degrees a drink was always at hand from a very attentive member of pool/bar staff, Mzungu. Familiar faces, Gopal and Rajenda who never fail to make us feel welcome and happy. These are just to name a few of the wonderful members of staff at the Dar al Masyaf and the biggest reason for us returning year after year! It is the only group of hotels that we would stay in in Dubai, the Dar being our favourite! Collapse

We checked in at the Jumeirah Dar Al Masyaf on July 11th 2017 for 10 nights with our two kids (5 and 3 years old). Our experience was absolutely amazing, way ahead of our expectations. Check-in: We checked in at around midnight, but upon arrival there was enough staff to accommodate us for the check-in procedure. After a short formality (passports etc) at the reception of the main lobby, we were escorted in a buggy to our Arabian Summer House within the Dar Al Masyaf compound. The scenic ride to our Villa was surrounded by scenic lights and bridges. At the entrance of each Villa (reception area), there is a spacious seating area with comfortable couches and high ceilings. Also, there is a dedicated butler desk. We were escorted to our room, which was 60 square meter in size. We had seen the pictures of the bedroom, but we were more surprised to see the large and very hygienic bathroom. I suggest the resort puts up some pictures of the bathroom as well in order to give a good overview of the accommodation! One Villa accommodates around 5 to 6 rooms. Rooms are spacious, with good quality furniture and amenities. Butler: The butler is dedicated for all the 5/6 rooms in a Villa, and hence, response times are quicker in case of requests/questions. In such a large resort it is easy to be forgotten, but the butler is always there to assist/help. Ann Jennifer (Jenny), the butler we spend most of the time with, did an amazing job of making us feel welcome. High level of service and very helpful with all our request. She also dealt in a nice way with our kids, and at the end of our stay, the kids were really sad when saying goodbye. One other aspect that is not so well highlighted when staying in Dar Al Masyaf villas is the happy hour, from 6 to 8pm. During this period, the butler serves free drinks (alcoholic/non-alcoholic) in the reception area of the Villa. This is a great event during which one can connect with other guests within the Villa. Also a great moment to exchange experiences in for examples restaurants, various swimming pools, beach areas, etc. We met three other families almost every evening and had great conversations while the kids were playing with each other. Great concept, needs to be highlighted more! Kids Club/Sinbad: There is a kids club in the resort, but not a common one. The inside part is very large, with different sections. For example, there was a section for PC games, but also for serious climbing and slides. There is at least a team of 4 to 5 members that occupies the group of kids that are present (with or without parents). They organise all kind of games and contests for kids. I was surprised to see a weekly schedule of all the events. Outside the kids club, there is a large dedicated pool (from shallow to less than a meter of water). This area is also covered by a shading cover. Our kids visited this Sinbad Kids Club almost daily. The team members working here were really nice and helpful. They could handle the kids very well. Some parents even left their kids here and went to do other things in or outside the resort. Definitely a place where the kids can spend hours having fun. Breakfast: When you select the breakfast option during the stay, you can consume this at 4 different locations scattered throughout the Jumeirah compound. Though the items did not vary much among the four different restaurants, our favourite place was Hanaaya. There is a dedicated egg station, with a separate section for Indian and Russian breakfast as well! There is wide selection of choice of food and drinks. At some hotels, you still have to pay for your drinks and coffee. Here, everything was included in a very attractive daily breakfast rate. Getting around: The Jumeirah compound is very large, and there are two modes of transport in case you don’t like to walk: buggies and little boats (abra’s). Our kids loved to sit on little boats, which you could board on at different stations scattered throughout the resort. Also for the buggies, you could order them through your butler or at buggy stations throughout the hotel resort. This transportation service makes your stay so much comfortable. Wild Wadi: This famous water park is situated next to the Jumeirah Resort. When staying in Dar Al Masyaf, we had complimentary access to this water park. The multiple slides and dedicated area for kids to play was fantastic. Whenever we visited, we easily would spend a couple of hours here. After finishing, we took the complimentary buggy back all the way to our Villa. Yes, the buggies can take you from your hotel room to the entrance of Wild Wadi. Staff: We believe that the diversity of the staff is a core strength for the level of service that this resort offers. Different people from different backgrounds and nationalities. All of which would address you in a polite and respectable manner. From the doorman to the chef in the kitchen, all of them curious to know how to serve you better. Such hard working people. Every day we encountered some maintenance work in order to keep up the quality of the resort. Previous to our arrival, I had contacted the resort regarding some questions on size of the rooms/bathrooms. Mr Viraf Havewalla (Guest Service Manager) contacted us twice during our stay (once in person) in order to make sure that our concerns were addressed. All in all, very surprised about the personalised level of service in such a large and enormous resort. We can continue to share our experience along other topics as well, and the list would become endless. Thank you very much for a great experience. We are definitely coming back soon. Collapse

From the moment you reach this hotel you know you are in Dubai, the warm friendly staff great you with refreshments, we stayed in the Arabian Summerhouse - Deluxe Arabian Room which you get to by taking a short boat ride. The rooms were very nice, you get a shared butler, massive bath rooms, happy hour drinks in the multi room foyer. There are enough restaurants here that you would need a week of lunch and dinners to get through just the ones that serves your tastes. The pool is great with enough spaces to chill out or be in the mix of the action. Onsite shopping for anything you need. What really sets this hotel was the staff. Even though all from a different country they are very professional and once you have a bit of a joke with then they are incredibly friendly. I definitely would go back. Collapse

no where beats the service in this hotel, we have stayed in the other Jumeirah hotels on the madinat & on the palm & this is our favourite. we have stayed in both the Arabian & gulf summerhouses. we stayed in villa number 1 gulf summerhouse which is directly on the beach & two mins walk from the main pool, & access to the madinat is a short walk over the bridge so we found we didn't need to use buggies & the boats much, i think we actually prefer the arabian villa around the front of the hotel so we can catch the boats to breakfast at al qasr. the rooms are massive & the beds comfortable. so much storage, more than you need. toiletries stocked twice daily & full size hairdryer & iron/ ironing board. wifi works everywhere & is free. paying the extra to stay in the dar is worth it for the 2 hour free bar 6-8 in your villa, if i am still getting ready you can takes drinks back to your villa. great to socialise & the butlers can't do enough for you. special thanks to Simon from Kenya (2012) we will be back next year Collapse
