You’ll find complete tranquillity during your stay at Dar Al Masyaf. Inspired by the traditional courtyard summer houses of old Arabia, these standalone two-storey houses offer an exquisitely designed hideaway – the premium accommodation of our resort. Coming and going is pleasing in itself, with the houses accessible by scenic waterways and paths that wind their way through lush landscaped gardens. Inside, you’ll experience the height of luxury, with beautifully appointed, light and spacious guest rooms and suites.
When you’re ready to venture out, you’ll find the beach easily accessible, as well as the many facilities of the resort – including restaurants, the famous Souk Madinat, the Talise Spa and activities including tennis, squash, aerobics and our state-of-the-art gymnasium.
Hidden within Madinat Jumeirah’s captivating waterways and architectural marvels is the resort’s most luxurious accommodation – the Malakiya Villas. The villas offer spacious bedrooms, oversized marble-clad bathrooms, generous living spaces, fully furnished kitchens and private terraces overlooking the waterways and resort.

This is my second visit in as many years to this wonderful hotel and this time the family came along which enabled me to look at the stay from a different perspective. As with last year, the staff were just wonderful and can't do enough for you. They are the hotel's biggest asset. I can't bear it when I see them being spoken to badly by rude guests with no manners, just no need for it. Thank you Kate and the other butlers in villa 7, you were fab. Buggies and abras were great for the children as were the pools and Sinbads. They were a little warmer last yr however. The weather was pretty awful by Dubai standards so warmer pools would have been better. Having said that, staff were willing to increase the temp in the villa pool which was great and very accommodating. There are a couple of areas where I feel the hotel could improve. In the evenings it would be good for the kids club to extend opening hours and have film nights, discos and such like to enable parents to have the odd quiet meal by themselves. Babysitting isn't always suitable for many reasons and places I have been to before have kids club which runs into the evening which is a great success. Secondly the price of food and drink is extortionate. Of course I would expect 5 star prices at a 5 star hotel but the costs are becoming prohibitive. I'll give an example. A bottle of malbec of the same brand in the UK is £10. At the hotel they charge £83 for the very same bottle! We could simply not justify paying this and there must be many other guests who feel the same. We are not all rich Russians! Surely more guests would buy drinks if they pitched the price a bit better? Having said this, we did make the most of the villa happy hour! Maybe the hotel could consider including drinks at other establishments during this timeframe so guests could try different venues? Finally breakfast...on one day we went to two different establishments before settling on a third as they were so busy. We then had to wait again for another 20 mins. I understand the inclement weather no doubt affected this but then when we were seated i had to wait 30 mins for a coffee after asking 4 people to chase up proceedings. There also needs to be more than 1/2 people on the egg station ...always a queue! Anyway these are suggestions made in good faith. I still love the hotel and can't wait to come back. Maybe leave the kids at home next time!! Collapse
Another great stay

We have just returned from this hotel with a family group. We stayed in one of the summer houses which contain several bedrooms. The bedrooms are lovely and the friendly service definitely adds to the enjoyment of the holiday. There are several different hotels in the complex and you can choose to eat in any one of them for breakfast and dinner. The whole complex has many waterways and you can travel around on them or if on the roads, a buggy. All the staff are amazing. The beach is nearby, within walking distance or by buggy. It is a private beach for the guests. Collapse

My husband, our grown up daughter and myself stayed here for 5 nights. The weather was terrible as no sun and so that was disappointing. However the hotel was fantastic and the staff are exceptional. We stayed in villa 8 which is right on the beach. Our room was on the first floor and the views were lovely. The 6-8pm summerhouse gatherings were a great idea and Sudatt ( sorry about spelling), Jeffrey and Aida were brilliant. We also had two other butlers and I can't remember their names but they were fab. In particular the chap from Sri Lanka . Jefferey the buggy driver took us on a lovely tour. We enjoyed eating at Pai Thai and Segreto. We also went to Skyview bar and the buffet restaurant on the ground floor. Again exceptional service. The hop on and off bus tour was a great way to see the city and the fountains are a must. Our daughter had a henna tattoo and it was much cheaper in the mall rather than on the beach. The gold souk was an experience and you were hassled. The hotel staff make this hotel and the rooms are beautifully appointed. As an adult only party the number of children was at times noisy. I think an adult only pool would be a good idea. The new hotel a few hotels up has one and we may choose to stay there next time. Breakfast at the Lebanese in the beach and the Palmery in the new hotel were lovely. Thanks to all the staff for your friendly service and a big mention to Sudatt and Aidia our butlers who made our stay. Collapse

This hotel is one of the Jumeriah Group set right on the beach. The main part of the hotel is fairly typical of Dubai hotels but the jewel in the crown are the two storey villas set in beautiful landscape gardens. Each villa has eight or ten rooms and the services of a Butler who will be more than happy to arrange restaurant bookings, sightseeing trips and transportation. You can get around the resort by golf buggy or little boats called Abras. There are swimming pools situated within the grounds. Rooms are comfortable, wifi is free, bathrooms are spacious, staff are very polite and deliver excellent service. The resort has numerous restaurants with varied menus and great food. Drinks are expensive in Dubai so the villa "Happy Hour" is very good value. I have absolutely no reservation in recommending this hotel and resort. Collapse
