We are just back from a spa break here for 1 night. We booked direct and received £10 credit for drinks etc, we opted for the dinner bed breakfast and 1 hour treatment option. On arrival we were upgraded to a suite which was great. The hotel was very busy and as a result the hotel had decided to book us in for our meal at 6:30pm which was no good for us, we changed it to the next available slot at 9:15pm but eventually it came down to 8:30pm which was perfect. The treatment: Amazing from start to finish, I had a full body massage and the lady who treated me was professional and accommodating from start to finish, the spa lounge is great, although they could be a little quicker to tidy away glasses and cups and replenish them. The Hotel: The hotel was clean and tidy, parking is easy, the room we had was great no real problems here. The Restaurant : Shocking!!! The service here was a disgrace to say the least, we waited 30 minutes after being seated until someone came to take our order and that was after having to ask several staff if we could order! The food came swiftly, we eat of the market menu and opted for fish cake starters which were loverly, I then had the hake which was loverly but overcooked, my wife eat the chicken that was loverly, we both had cheesecake desert this was loverly, this place needs a new front of house manager and the staff need to be trained in etiquette , most could hardly speak fluent english. The Pool: Great!! The sauna and steam rooms are also nice. The Bar: The bar is nice over looking the golf course, a food selection of drinks and wines, reasonable priced premium larger but the wine is extortionate , we had a bottle of Pinot Noir at £41, nice but would have been a lot nicer at half that price!! Room Service: We had breakfast included in the package but opted to pay the £5 tray charge to have it in our room at a convenient time: Well worth doing!! All in all a good little package and I would return, it just needs a little bit more staff training and management reviews! Collapse

We visited for two nights with breakfast. The hotel is situated in beautiful sprawling grounds with a golf course and area to walk around. The hotel is fantastic, large and clean. Our room was amazing the bed was so comfy and the bathroom had both bathtub and very strong power shower. The breakfast was good not the best but still had option of cooked and continental. The staff were all very knowledgeable and pleasant Desi at the reception was fantastic she was very kind and friendly and made our stay even more pleasant. It was our first time in the Chester area and i would definitely use this hotel if returning to the area. It was so relaxing, quiet and luxurious..everything we wanted in our couple break. Collapse

I’ve stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions when attending track days at Oulton Park Circuit. The hotel is well positioned around 10 minutes drive from the circuit and the car park is accessible for anyone with a car trailer in tow. The gym is fantastic with a great modern range of cardio equipment, weights, etc. among the best of hotel gyms I’ve seen. The only letdown is the food. I did not dine in the restaurant on my last visit but the in-room and bar menu is really short on options and there are no healthy options. I even asked for my chicken burger with a baked potato but was told they could only offer hand cut chips. For the sandwich they had no wholemeal bread so could only offer white. Ok not the end of the world but I feel they could really benefit with a few healthy menu options. Will stay again but stop at M&S en-route!! Collapse

As only stayed one night with friends didn’t get chance to use the facilities, but the pool and golf course looked very good. The restaurant which still states it’s a steak house online is not a steak house anymore was looking forward to a fillet steak but none available. However the seabass was very good, hotel needs to update website. Would stay here again. Collapse
