Stayed for a retirement party 18/11/17. Stayed in a executive king room at £105.00. On arrival outside looks grand, however once inside al that changes. Receptionist was OK asked for a card payment preferably a master race, didn’t have one so asked for a debit card and took the payment then for the stay. I wanted the option to pay cash in the morning. Got to room 411, the room was freezing, heating was off and looked like for some time. Turned it on and waited for an hour and half. Felt the radiator and it was look warm the room was still cold. We had already closed the curtains above the radiator prior. Contacted reception to see what could be done, receptionist called Megan answered who was not polite to say the least, all she said was that she would BOOST THE HEATING which didn’t make much sense. I asked what does that mean and she basically said that the heating would be boosted. Waited another 15 minutes and heating was the same, went downstairs and spoke to Megan again but offered no help and spoke to me as though I was moaning for no reason. Male receptionist came to the room and agreed heating wasn’t working and said that this wasn’t the kind that could be BOOSTED. It was a gas radiator not a electric one. He went and said he would come back in 10 minutes to see what could be done. Waited 30 minutes no answer. Couldn’t wait any longer and got changed for the party being 45 minutes late. In the morning the breakfast is poor, very limited food, service is same as we got at reception, asked for a coffee and didn’t come, the waitresses didn’t seem interested. I contacted the hotel on the Monday and was told person I needed to speak to was not in. Gave my contact number were he rang me the day after, after a brief discussion he said he would contact me on the Thursday after speaking with Megan, still waiting. In all very poor hotel. Room no better than a standard Holiday Inn for half the price. Alcohol drinks are astronomical, £28.00 for a bottle of Prosecco that’s with it warm and no ice buckets. Stay away very dated hotel at very high cost, won’t go again. Collapse

Stayed last week overnight on a spa break booked last minute. First impression wasn't the best as the man on reception couldn't have been less helpful if he tried, absolutely no people skills. Went to the spa, it's small but it's nice and the changing rooms are really clean. We both had a massage, I wasn't overly impressed as I found it really quite painful but my boyfriend enjoyed his. We eat in the hotel on the evening, food was really nice and service was good (could do with extra help in the bar though as only one lad working which meant we were left waiting for quite a while). Mix up with the bill caused an issue but the reception team sorted for us in the morning and accepted we were told we didn't need to pay for our meal, so thank you for sorting that. Slept well, comfortable bed and decent room. Overall we would stay again as the price we paid was good. Collapse

Nice place, although put in building that also houses the spa separate building from main building. Room nice although no heating as heater not working and the young lad who opened the safe for us said he would bring a heater but didnt. Pool round and small not big enough to swin in. Some of the sauna/ steam rooms were not working. The croissants/muffins were dark and over baked and should not have been on display in my opinion. Evening meal though was lovely.. Wine expensive. Was surprised not to find instructions in room for meal times/pool/gym opening times etc Collapse

Decent hotel, the spa is small but it's good that it's available at no extra cost to guests. The walls are incredibly thin, you can hear everyting (it sounded like the guests next door had a good stay). I left my pizza box on the table with half a pizza inside. It wasn't near the bin or obviously finished with, so it was to my surpsie that the cleaner had removed it from my room! I was looking forward to it after coming home so that was a dissappointing move. Overall it was an alright stay but I don't think I'd be coming back, unless they buy me a large meat feast as a sorry.
