My sister held her wedding reception here spending a lot of money and also her wedding guests paying for hotel rooms and drinks for the weekend which was also a lot of money and the treatment myself and my sisters guests received is quite appalling and I would not recommend to anybody to book Kilhey court for their wedding venue which is unfortunate because the place itself is lovely it's a shame about the staff. The worst part about my stay had to be the breakfast and this really need sorting out if they want the hotel to be a successful business, I ordered my breakfast in the morning and it come out wrong twice on both days so it's not as if someone was having a bad day the staff getting things wrong is clearly a regular occurrence and what's even more ridiculous is I am vegetarian so I ordered the vegetarian breakfast and meat sausages arrived on my plate when I told the waiter her response was 'that's what you ordered' I'm not quite sure why a person who has not ate meat for 14 years would ask for a meat breakfast then when I asked for hash browns because that's what the menu stated came with the breakfast the waiters abrupt response was 'no hash browns left' not apologetic at all. My dad also ordered an omelette and it never came to the table when I got up and questioned one of the waiters she checked and her response was 'the chef couldn't read the tab so he left it' I'm not quite sure why the chef thought it was appropriate to just leave it not ask any questions and let someone sit waiting for 25 minutes with no food on the table, the waiting time on the food was also ridiculous considering the breakfast area wasn't even half full. I can't complain about the help your self section of the breakfast that had plenty of variety and seemed all fresh which was lovely. Another annoying part of my stay was there was around 12 rooms booked with wedding guests in and each room was scattered all around the hotel not one room close to each other which isn't ideal, another thing which was a pain was only being able to put things on the room if you had a credit card doesn't the hotel consider that not all people have credit cards? The spa facilities are a good asset to the hotel however what isn't is a member of staff from the spa telling me off for making a cup of tea, when 1 there was no sign stating that only people who had paid for an spa treatment could make a hot beverage and 2 I didn't realise a cup of hot water and a tea bag would cause such a damage to the hotels costs! Really disappointed with my stay especially with it being my sisters wedding weekend, the staff really need some structure and training the majority had no idea what they was doing or what good customer service is. I don't normally write bad reviews even if I've had a bad experience, but I feel like this place has so much potential in offering a fantastic place to stay for a relaxing break and I hope my constructive criticism will help them make improvements! So we stayed for 2 nights £110 per night with breakfast, the reception staff were always helpful and the hotel looks well kept with lovely decor. The wedding venue inside Killey court was a nice big room and the wedding was fantastic. Literally the only thing that was poor was the customer service from the dining room staff. The breakfast was a shambles, 2 out of the 7 of us were left waiting 30 minutes for breakfast, 1 was because the chef couldn't understand the waitress' writing so decided not to cook what we asked for (instead of actually thinking to ask what we ordered again). The food wasn't cooked properly, I even left a piece of bacon and I eat everything on my plate! There was just long waits for everything we were asking for and the most frustrating thing was that there were staff stood there folding napkins rather than see to the most important thing, the customers! If they got their priorities straight in the dining/breakfast area this would sort half of the problems. The day of check out we decided to have a nice relax in the spa area which is worth a visit, I also used the gym which also had a good variety of equipment in. After visiting the spa we decided to give lunch a try to see if they had improved from breakfast, we had to wait 10 minutes for a table to be set for us when there was only 2 tables in, again we were waiting to order drinks, then we were waiting to order food again, and they were soon quick to run after us with the bill, you certainly wouldn't think we were part of the wedding guests after spending an absolute fortune on a wedding here. I would love to know how you have seen the same type of reviews since March this year and nothing has improve in your customer service????????????? Please improve, this is such a shame and certainly not worth £110 per night. Collapse

Nothing was too much to ask at this hotel We took advantage of the overnight spa break with one treatment thrown in. We went as two couples. Rooms excellent, well attended, clean and quality. The Spa was great, the best icings excellent and all staff very helpful. The manager on duty, waiters bar staff all brilliant, friendly and attentive. We had a tapas lunch, evening meal and breakfast all of excellent quality and overall value for money. The log fire in the lobby is perfect. Would highly recommend. Collapse

We stayed here for one night after attending a friends wedding locally. The hotel is set in pretty grounds, a cosy feel inside with a real fire in reception. Check is was a little on the slow side. We didn't spend a great deal of time in the hotel but what i saw was lovely. Our room was a nice size with a seating area, clean and modern bathroom and the bed was very comfy. Loved the addition of a nespresso coffee machine. We had breakfast in the hotel which certainly hit the spot. Lovely dining room and a great full English will a good continental selection to help yourself to. Perfect stay. Collapse

Had a short stay here recently, beautiful building and peaceful location, the grounds are stunning and well kept. Check-in was rather slow as everything needed printing off and then we had to 'pre auth' etc. I'm not a very patient person so maybe it was just me! Our room was in the newer part and was ok, the bathroom needed updating but everything worked. The sash window in the room didn't stay up so we had to prop it open as it was very airless in the room. The bed was comfortable and we slept soundly. We had a swim, the pool staff were extremely efficient and showed us where everything was. We decided not to eat in the hotel as we were out late each evening but did use the bar for a night-cap and it was great. The young barman was lovely, he seemed rushed off his feet but rose to the challenge and was polite and chatty. Breakfast was ok but a little hit and miss...will the tea and toast arrive? will we get 1 rasher of bacon or 2? will anyone take our order today? The cold/continental selection was great, beautifully presented with plenty of choice. My only real niggle was that there was a wedding taking place and it really annoys me that the 'Bride Squad' appear at breakfast in pyjamas, robes and slippers. I'm obviously from the older generation who thinks it's in rather bad taste to do so and a little disrespectful to other guests who are properly dressed. For the price we paid it was all-in-all very good value. Collapse
