We were very surprised to be the only car to park in the huge car park ...we wondered if maybe the hotel had closed and forget to tell us! No...it was open. We were the only table in the whole dining room for the duration. In fact we never saw another person who was not staff for the whole duration we were there. The atmosphere was poor. The background music was more conducive to a wake than a xmas lunch. We asked it they could play something more atmospheric and christmasie but were told they only have 2 cd's to play and neither have xmas music on it! The soup came in a mini cauldron more apt for Halloween than Xmas. The prawn and crayfish was beautifully presented but the whisky Marie sauce lacked the whisky. The brussel sprouts accompanying the turkey for mains could not be cut in half unless you had a chainsaw...slight exaggeration but not far off! I asked for Christmas pudding and cranberries with ice cream instead of brandy anglaise. The Christmas pudding was devine as was the ice cream. I still got the brandy anglaise that I didn't want and the cranberries were laid on a dollop of cream that I neither wanted nor was it described on the menu! I loathe getting something that is not on the menu. I am not going to say I'm allergic to something, cream for example, when there is no mention of it on the choices I pick from the menu. Whilst the waitress was very pleasant, the service was slow and I had to go looking for someone to enable me to pay the bill. This cannot be done at the table if you are paying by credit card and you have to go up near the reception area. Pretty poor service for an allegedly 4 star hotel. The crackers were poor quality and at £22.00 a head the whole experience was not worth it. £2.75 for a glass of coke. The most frustrating thing of the lot was we chose to go here because the menu for the drumossie had a lovely sounding risotto for my vegan colleague and something quite tasty sounding for a starter. Neither on the menu we were given...felt deceived. Would I go back: not through my choice. Collapse

Big thank you to the Drumossie team for giving our group of 12 an excellent experience last week. We really enjoyed having a huge table and plenty time and space to relax, chat but most of all enjoy a fantastic Xmas meal. The standard of the presentation and content was in a different league to the many fairly predictable local alternatives- would recommend. Dmac. Collapse

A group of 15 visited the Drumossie for a Christmas lunch. We were so well looked after by the staff and the food was absolutely beautiful. We will definitely return next year for our Christmas lunch and maybe even before then for another occasion.

Midweek stay, very quiet with few guests in the hotel. Hotel is out of Inverness but has good access to motorway & approx 15 mins from airport. The main area is smart & the decor is lovely, gets a bit basic en route to the bedrooms. Bedroom was good sized with a large bathroom (shower & separate bath), shower pressure was poor, lovely bedroom and a very very comfortable bed. Good blackout curtains. Room 218 is opposite the door to that floor so you hear guests coming & going. Food was good both a dinner & breakfast, staff are friendly and helpful. Collapse
