Per Person Per Night
Sleek, stylish and tech-ready, M by Montcalm's Shoreditch luxury hotel rooms and suites are a clever blend of cutting edge and comfort. Starting at 28 square metres, they're also larger than the London average. Through distinctive diagonal windows, floor to ceiling views make an atmospheric backdrop to the delights within. M by Montcalm's hallmark touchesare everywhere in these rooms and suites near Silicon Roundabout, from mood-matching lighting to touch screen controlled underfloor heating in your bathroom. Workspaces are well-proportioned; WiFi is fast and free. And with a tablet in every room as standard, you can create your own environment at the tap of a screen: dim the lights, close the curtains and order an indulgent in-room repast. Bathrooms are masterpieces in monochrome, with powerful Grohe rain showers, plush bathrobes and Elemis or Hermès toiletries.
With serious culinary credentials, M by Montcalm is set to become a dining destination of choice for discerning city foodies. Renowned restaurant operator Searcys will oversee everything from fine dining to all-day eateries and laid-back lounge bars.
Its eclectic design fusing the modernity of M's architecture with the rustic appeal of Hoxton, Tonic & Remedy traverses the ground and mezzanine floors with a menu that marries distinct New York City influences with eccentric British flavours. The mezzanine cocktail bar, with an inventive drinks list full of en vogue flavours, provides the perfect vantage point for people watching.
A second restaurant opens soon high on the seventeenth floor. Dining here will be a haute cuisine affair, with the lights of the city a breath-taking backdrop. With a passion for the finest produce, lip-smacking quality and a spirit of adventure, M by Montcalm and Searcys make a dream dining duo.

I stayed here 2 nights as part of a large business group. This is a very new hotel in trendy Shoreditch, not so convenient for the main tourist sights of the west end of London, but well situated for business on the east side of town. Staff are mostly very nice but not always very well trained (I asked one where breakfast was served and got a blank look and the comment 'Maybe the first floor, I don't know'). Public areas are quite flash and my room was a good size, had fabulous views and comfortable fittings, but the ridiculously over-complex technology made my stay a nightmare, and my colleagues all had similar issues. Instead of light switches and a thermostat in the bedrooms, there are 3 iPad-sized touch screens - one on the wall and one either side of the bed. The screens were not very sensitive and often took 4 or 5 goes to get a response. I never managed to get the desk light to work, and the room was either far too hot or way too cold - same was true of the meeting room we were in. The bedside lights did not work independently, it was all or none. One colleague had to ring reception to find out how to turn his lights off. I never had time to get someone to come up show me how it all worked, and there should be no need for an instruction manual. Worst of all, the touch screens glowed all night and there was also a continual blue light the length of the TV screen on the wall, plus a large gap under the door which let in loads of light from the corridor and noise from people outside. I had two sleepless nights and 2 migraines as a result. Had I been booked for a 3rd night, I would have had to find another hotel. The room also had some odd design omissions - no full length mirror, in fact no mirror other than over the sink, and to use the hairdryer with a mirror, you had to stand in the bathroom - not very safe with a wet floor. In all, too much technology, not enough customer focus. Collapse

The M by Montcalm Hotel in Shoreditch, is a fantastically modern hotel, that combines all of the features of a luxurisous London hotel with cutting edge technology throughout the rooms that is easy to pick up and use and makes the stay a pleasure. The bedside tables were both fully equipped with I-Pad style consoles that controlled everything from closing the curtains, turning on/off the TV, (which had a great selection of channels),adjusting the lighting (even mood lighting) and underfloor heating in the bathrooms. Other touches which were great were the Nespresso coffee machine, and exotic teas. The bathroom suite was lovely, clean, and modern. The room tech was easy to use straight away. Our family found the bed and pillows to be amazing, our child had a great nights sleep in a sofa bed which was made up into a full size double bed. Staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The bar on the ground floor was also very good. The food from room service was excellent. We also found the gym/pool and therapy area to be first class. I would highly recommend this hotel for emailed or business professionals. Mr J. Forbes Collapse
