Workspaces are well-proportioned; WiFi is fast and free. And with a tablet in every room as standard, you can create your own environment at the tap of a screen: dim the lights, close the curtains and order an indulgent in-room repast. Bathrooms are masterpieces in monochrome, with powerful Grohe rain showers, plush bathrobes and Elemis or Hermès toiletries.
With serious culinary credentials, M by Montcalm is set to become a dining destination of choice for discerning city foodies. Renowned restaurant operator Searcys will oversee everything from fine dining to all-day eateries and laid-back lounge bars.
Its eclectic design fusing the modernity of M's architecture with the rustic appeal of Hoxton, Tonic & Remedy traverses the ground and mezzanine floors with a menu that marries distinct New York City influences with eccentric British flavours. The mezzanine cocktail bar, with an inventive drinks list full of en vogue flavours, provides the perfect vantage point for people watching.
A second restaurant opens soon high on the seventeenth floor. Dining here will be a haute cuisine affair, with the lights of the city a breath-taking backdrop. With a passion for the finest produce, lip-smacking quality and a spirit of adventure, M by Montcalm and Searcys make a dream dining duo.

From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, everything was Fantastic!! It was my Birthday and the hotel had put two slices of cake in our room which was a very nice touch! We were also upgraded to a Junior Suite which was an amazing room! Very big and comfy bed. The lighting was all controlled via a touch screen and it was gorgeous ambient mood lighting! The Sky bar was lovely and we had breakfast in the Executive Club lounge which was fantastic too! Would definitely return! All the staff were super too! Deborah was our lady on reception and was extra friendly and helpful! The Spa area was simply superb! I used the gym which was fanastic! Collapse

The M By Montcalm really is a stylish hotel. This Hotel definitely caters for both the business and pleasure traveller. It's very short walk from Old Street tube station. From the moment you enter the doors you are greeted by one of the many Staff who are all too willing to help. Our bags were taken from us and we were led to the check-in desk. We arrived early so we could use the facilities but our room was ready and we were escorted to where we would be staying on the 15th floor. The room was extremely clean and tidy as is the whole hotel. The tech aspect of the room is not overly complicated - it was very effective and simple to navigate the touch pads either side of the bed, e.g mood lighting and electronic curtains. The pool was of an adequate size for a hotel and the gym was filled with brand new Matrix multigym equipment. Both bars are worth having a drink at prior to going out or coming back from an evening out, especially the Sky bar on the 16th floor. The stay was a birthday gift and there was cake ect in the room, we booked the bath butler which is a great touch from the Hotel. Basically got back to our room at 5pm the bath was run with oils, petals and two cocktails waiting. All the staff were extremely approachable and friendly, from Reception to the bar to room service to the spa. The hotel had a broad range of age groups and nationalities staying, some of which were quite lively. Collapse

Digital technology themed 5 star hotel located near Hoxton, Shoreditch and Moorfield Eye Hospital in the London, EC1 area. Near to the magic roundabout (Google screens in Old Street) exits to City Road & Moorgate. Best for business travellers, holiday guests or 'mobile millennials and generation X' professionals and socialites who would like to be close to the city. The hotel is mainly for adults and has wheelchair access for the less abled plus a side entrance for public figures to make discrete entries and exits. Great rooms! However, could do with some maintenance. Excellent digital technology concept. The bedrooms have approximately 7 mood lights which are look great in the dark and I found amazing. The room has digital controlled curtains, air conditioners that rotate into the wall, electric fragrance dispensers that look like digital radios plus there are amazing spa facilities (sauna, swimming pool, jacuzzi, ice room, showers, lounge chairs etc.) ♨ and decent gym facilities (missing a few important machines) in the hotels basements. A Versace logo decorates the spa reception and the hotel has some nice looking touch screen points for browsing of local activities, as well as global news events in the reception area as well as printed press and publications for the sophisticated traveller and their companion. The room's central digital control (for lighting, air conditioning, floor heaters etc) was a bit non-functional plus the heated floor in the ensuite shower room left much to be desired, hence the rating. Be careful of the sharp edges around the basin area in the shower room, although a large towel can avert any instances for parents with children. The restaurant experience could be a bit better, some guests were acting a bit like bullies, there could be a reason to have security. Food was very rich, well presented & an abundance of "come to life" inspiring tastes. However, there's plenty of opportunity to make the food healthier (I ate Christmas dinner there, the gravy was not to the best standard, so main course was not fully enjoyable). Other than that the starters and dessert were excellent - 4 course meal. Their special Christmas cocktail was very on point and tasted very nice. A quick reminder that bookings made over the internet are not debited until you reach the desk. Enjoy when you get there. x Collapse

Stayed here for an evening business function at Houses of Parliament, whilst tube strike in operation. Luckily hotel boy managed to hail us a rare vacant cab but took us over an hour in chaotic traffic for the 2.2 mile journey. It was the closest most affordable business class hotel available that evening at a whopping £250 a night. All else were charging in excess of £600. So what do you get for this? Well it did have a very comfy bed but I personally found the room very stuffy and over teccy. Remote everything that took ages to figure out how to operate it. Im pretty teccy myself being a scientist, but electric curtains etc and remote control light switches are not my thing. Its Easier to flick a switch and pretty lazy not to. Those who love boys toys and want to impress the ladies would probably love it :). Collapse
