Beyond the magnificent facade of the Mansion House which greets guests on arrival, lies the 5 star Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf and Spa on the border of Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, which is like no other in the home counties. However, guests quickly discover that behind the imposing grandeur of Luton Hoo, the atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming. Excellent transport links between St. Pancras and Luton Parkway railway stations mean we are as easily reached from London as we are from nearby Cambridge. And Luton Airport puts us in touch with cities from all over Europe. The pillared halls and elegant lounges, individual period rooms, formal gardens and the award-winning Wernher Restaurant create a unique ambience of gracious living which is without equal in the locality. The Country Club is set within a Grade II listed Robert Adam courtyard which previously formed the stables of the mansion house. It offers a superbly appointed Spa, an indoor pool with a view onto woodlands and relaxed dining in the Adam’s Brasserie.
At the Luton Hoo Hotel you can enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the Adam’s Bar and The 19th which is very popular with golfers who have just completed our championship 18 hole par 73 golf course. By contrast, Warren Weir forms a world of its own.
Replenishing the natural habitat of Luton Hoo has been just as important as restoring the Mansion House to its former glory. Beyond the formal gardens, designed by Capability Brown, stretch over 1,000 acres of glorious parkland, meadows, woodlands, lakes, rivers and nature trails to be explored. Not all luxury hotels in Hertfordshire or Bedfordshire are the same, and at Luton Hoo there is simply so much to enjoy and experience.

I'm very fortunate to be able to stay at this beautiful hotel on a semi regular basis through work. As many people have mentioned, the setting and the hotel itself is magnificent. You really feel as though you're walking into a very grand movie set when you arrive. Overall the hotel has pretty much everything you need - large bedrooms, a decent gym, pool, spa, a couple of restaurants to choose from and several nice bar areas. The only thing which lets it down are a few niggly issues in the room. Rather than providing a narrow little trouser press which barely fits a pair of shorts on it, supply a proper ironing board and iron. Also the lighting in some of the rooms is completely inadequate. I got ready in near darkness the other morning in a room which had a view of a large ivy covered wall. Hairdryers with very short coiled flexes which means that you have to be practially sat on top of the plug to use it. I would expect better than this in a 5 star hotel. Having said this, still a very beautiful hotel and I look forward to future stays here. Collapse

Staff need training on customer care, spa area needs up dating with more sun lounges and seating area far too small for amount of people, my sister's burger wasn't cooked waited too long for another she ate on her own as we had finished ours, staff never said sorry or anything just took it away then returned, toilet seat broken in room pinched top of leg, breakfast was like a conveyer belt was told to order cooked breakfast then go and help ourselves to cereal, fruit, juices ext before we even sat down our cooked breakfast arrived was put on our table and we had to try and get all this food on the table so now it was cold to eat. My sister was also not happy as she was woken up with a early morning alarm call from reception at 6.15am which she never asked for then again at 6.30am as she never responded to the first call what is going on here a 5 star establishment!!!!!!!!! I'm sorry but the whole experience which should have been a relaxing overnight stay at a 5 star spa with bed and breakfast and evening meal it wasnt . It was just a unbelievable event and overpriced, have been to much better spas and been cheaper too Luton hoo could learn from them. My advice shop around much better places than here. Collapse

We had lunch at the Wherners restaurant and if you let Reception know you are coming you can reserve a car parking space outside the main door. We only found this out when we had walked from the main car park, (which is quite a way for those slightly disabled), and on speaking to the concierge he told us this is what we should have done. I was really looking forward to a night away as I thought the hotel looked lovely. The actual grounds are stunning and it is an impressive building, unfortunately the staff weren't that friendly or helpful and didn't seem to care. We had booked a table for dinner in the Lounge as the other restaurants were booked , a member of staff came and took our drinks order - all OK so far, then someone took our food order. Our starters came out and then that was it we didn't see anyone else, not one member of staff to be seen, after sitting with empty starter plates for over an hour I got up and found someone, I asked for our main course to be brought to our room free of charge, this took another half an hour and I must say the food was very poor, over cooked and only just warm. I would have expected a lot more from this standard of hotel. They didn't charge for our food but didn't offer any money off our stay which I think would have gone a long way. Such a shame as probably won't go back. Collapse

We stayed here for our anniversary and it's still undoubtedly one of my favourite places to stay! The drive up the driveway still takes my breathe away. It's such a beautiful house in beautiful settings! The grounds are so lovely to walk around so make sure you take time to do this. There is a small Japanese garden which is definitely worth a look! The staff here always go out of their way to help you and make you feel like you are really special. We stayed in the garden rooms which were just lovely. Huge rooms with so much space! Such a treat! We used the spa facilities which were 10/10 and wish we had spent more time there but there was too much to do! We had dinner in the brasserie which I personally prefer over the other restaurant. The prices are very reasonable and the service is great! Take a walk down to the lake if you have time and take in the views. Plenty of parking available This is how a superb hotel should be run! Everything was totally spot on would always recommend this hotel and it's just somewhere really special to come! Collapse
