Beyond the magnificent facade of the Mansion House which greets guests on arrival, lies the 5 star Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf and Spa on the border of Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, which is like no other in the home counties. However, guests quickly discover that behind the imposing grandeur of Luton Hoo, the atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming. Excellent transport links between St. Pancras and Luton Parkway railway stations mean we are as easily reached from London as we are from nearby Cambridge. And Luton Airport puts us in touch with cities from all over Europe. The pillared halls and elegant lounges, individual period rooms, formal gardens and the award-winning Wernher Restaurant create a unique ambience of gracious living which is without equal in the locality. The Country Club is set within a Grade II listed Robert Adam courtyard which previously formed the stables of the mansion house. It offers a superbly appointed Spa, an indoor pool with a view onto woodlands and relaxed dining in the Adam’s Brasserie.
At the Luton Hoo Hotel you can enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the Adam’s Bar and The 19th which is very popular with golfers who have just completed our championship 18 hole par 73 golf course. By contrast, Warren Weir forms a world of its own.
Replenishing the natural habitat of Luton Hoo has been just as important as restoring the Mansion House to its former glory. Beyond the formal gardens, designed by Capability Brown, stretch over 1,000 acres of glorious parkland, meadows, woodlands, lakes, rivers and nature trails to be explored. Not all luxury hotels in Hertfordshire or Bedfordshire are the same, and at Luton Hoo there is simply so much to enjoy and experience.

Luton Hoo is a very nice hotel and you get the sense of luxury as soon as you drive through the entrance gates. The bedrooms and bathrooms continue this sense of luxury. The staff are polite, helpful and respectful. The hotel has different buildings where you can stay so if booking and expecting a particular building please be mindful of this as distance wise they are miles apart. Collapse
Beautiful hotel and warm welcome

We arrived late to a warm welcome and were taken to our luxurious room by hotel taxi ( liveried in green) to find our bags had arrived before us. Food was very good, service excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights as my fiancé and I wanted to view this as a potential wedding venue. This place is actually quite hard to find but once we got there we were very impressed with how big the grounds were and how beautiful the mansion house was. You could tell from the moment you walked in to this hotel what a grand history it had and it does feel like a very special place from the moment you arrive. The staff were absolutely fantastic, always smiling and very helpful. We asked for a mansion suite with a balcony. Our room was nice, I wouldn't say anything special. The bathroom was very impressive with a big spa bath and two sinks. I wasn't overly impressed with the fact we had to share a balcony with two other suites - we were not warned about this before our stay. My fiancé and I keep kosher so we didn't eat anything however from looking at the menu there seemed to be a good menu but the drink selection was however rather limited. The spa was pleasant but could perhaps do with a bit of a revamp. I must say the customer service and beautiful grounds really did make up for the few faults and overall I would recommend this hotel. Room was lovely - small garden and peacocks. Service was not good - prices were ridiculously high. I tried to order some wine with dinner - we were a prebooked party - only to be told I could only have house wine as I should have pre-ordered if I wanted something else! When I agreed to house wine I was told I had to return to my room (I was not staying in the main house but over by the golf area!) to pay by cash or credit. I asked for the wine to be charge to my room but they said this was not allowed. I was supposed to have registered a credit card - BUT I was not told that!! After speaking to 3 different people - very embarrassing in front of 30 plus other people - I was eventually allowed to charge it to my room. We ordered a paper which never came - we did not request an alarm call so were delighted when we were woken at 06.45! We had finished breakfast before tea and coffee arrived! The golf course was a nightmare - a lot of the ladies in the group had no chance of reaching the fairways and we lost loads of balls in the grass as there was no first cut just straight into rough. It also took ages - not good for us and not, I would have thought, good for the management - more people, more money!! Course is very noisy with the airport so close and the M1. All in all very disappointed - it is a fab place to look at it but needs a lot of improvement on the course and in service before I would ever think to return. Collapse

My friend and I spent 2 nights here for a 60 th birthday treat for ourselves. Our room was amazing , but the chocolate covered strawberries we had ordered didn't materialise until we reminded them. We couldn't fault the spa and its staff , the massages were amazing and the ambience so nice and relaxing. The restaurant was a different matter . The first night we were in the brasserie , the food was fine , but nothing exceptional but the second night we were told we were in the restaurant. Our booking didn't say this and we had a job finding suitable clothes as apparently it was very posh. The food wasn't very nice at all and we were served by someone who I could only say was a jumped up pompous Pratt!! He made us feel that we weren't good enough to eat there. On giving us the menu he said if we had any questions, just ask. When I did he made me feel like I was stupid. The main course of beef was tough and the sweet was a choice from a t trolley . We weren't told we could have more than 1 choice and the portions were small so a couple would have been nice. When we finished we sat there for half an hour being ignored. When I eventually caught pompous's eye , I asked if I needed to sign or could we just go. His reply, looking down his nose was, I know you are on a package but you still have to sign . We couldn't wait to get out of there. His whole attitude made us feel very uncomfortable and for that reason I wouldn't go back. The package, by the way wasn't by any means cheap. On check out we actually told someone how we had been made to feel , when they asked if everything was fine . All of the above was noted and we were told they would look into it and e mail us both . We have never heard another thing!! So my advice would be go to the fabulous spa but give the restaurant a miss . Collapse
