The Hotel is located in a safe and slightly upmarket area just off the Via Veneto and within walking distance of approx 24 Restaurants, which suit every taste and pocket. There is a nice friendly bar just across the street for that early evening glass of beer or indeed Italian wine which we found to be extremely nice even at the lower end of the price range. The less than special stuff is obviously exported. However back to the Ludovisi Palace Hotel which we found to be an all round nice place to stay. The staff are very friendly and the Hotel is spotlessly clean throughout. It can be reached from Da Vinci Airport either by taxi at a fixed price of €48 or by bus from the terminal to Termini (the main train station) for €6 per head one way then either the Metro for two stops for €1.50 each then about a ten minute walk but slightly uphill. A cab from Termini costs a fixed price of €15. Breakfast begins at 7am and I would advise that it gets very busy at that time especially with our American friends who appear to stock up for the day. There is so much to see in this beautiful city that everyone appears to make an early start. The Hotel has the appearance of a large townhouse with none of your glass towerblock looks. It is within walking distance of the Metro and bus stops and you can walk downhill to firstly get to the Spanish Steps and then on to the Trevi Fountain. Our room was on the third floor and was massive by european standards and had recently been renovated The bathroom was modern but very narrow but the proximity of one wall did come in useful on some nights after a few scoops of Roman hospitality. Ideal to lean back on when using the loo!!! All in all I would have no reason not to recommend this Hotel to anyone staying for a city break in Rome. Well done Ludovisi for making our break so enjoyable. Collapse

Hotel's location, access to good restaurants, internal services and beautiful room were very good. However, we would not recommend accepting their "private car" transfer service to the airport. We were given a beat-up old Mercedes station wagon with poor tires that ended in a blow-out that could have resulted in serious injury, but luckily it was the rear tire that blew at 115 km/h and we could get to the side of the road where it could be replaced by the spare. This is an outside so-called "limousine" service that obviously provides poorly maintained vehicles at a premium rate to the airport of 60 Euro. A taxi at 48 Euro or other private car services at 55 Euro would have been far superior. DO NOT PUT YOUR LIFE AT RISK!! Collapse

We were placed in this hotel with a tour group for the final night of a 9 day tour. Check in was smooth. The room was large, clean and modern. Bath was good, lots of pressure and good hot water. Towels and linens were newer and not worn. Wifi on the 4th floor was the worst we have had in three weeks in europe. Could not connect or access sign in screens and the few times we actually got on line, the signal was so weak it eventually just died out. As in most every hotel in Rome, it was very noisy and sleep was hard to come by. Breakfast was okay. The young lady at reception on the day shift was wonderful ... helpful and courteous. The man on the evening shift was rude and frankly ignorant. This guy, and the poor wifi held back a more favorable rating. Perhaps a job in something other than the service industry might be in line for him. Location is wonderful. This is a good spot for your Rome holiday. Collapse

We stayed in this hotel back in 2004 as part of a tour and liked it, so when we were looking for a hotel this time we said let's go with what we know. Well..we made the right choice. They recently renovated and its beautiful. Our room was very roomy including the bathroom (which in Europe can be tiny). The staff is very welcoming, pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is included which is a bonus. It included eggs, breakfast meat, cheeses, yogurt, assorted rolls, croissants and cakes. Along with espresso, cappuccinos and tea. Plenty to enjoy and get u started for your fun day in Rome. The location is a few blocks from the Spanish steps. I felt it was perfect. We walked everywhere. (A side note the pink hop on hop off is the only one that stops up the block from the hotel if u opt for that.) I would def stay there again when I go back to Rome. Collapse
