Perhaps the best if not the fairest hotel in Rome

I walked into the hotel. Completely sleep deprived. I had the grand total of 2 hours of sleep after flying and needed to sleep. I eventually found the hotel with great ease. It's very difficult to miss it due to the fact that it's nearly on the main roads of Versini (I forget if that's the name). For those who wish to save time, I will try to keep the hotel details very brief. The hotel in itself was beautiful and more than I honestly expected. Especially for the price. The staff were incredibly polite and helpful, offering to take my bag up for free as well as clean my room for free. I received two free drink cards (for alcoholic drinks), and I received a complimentary shot of any alcohol I wasn't sure of (this was definitely not hotel protocol. I am quite sure that it was just my sweet talking that got me the shot of drink.) The room itself is quaint. There's nothing extreme. However, having the aircon on maximum temperature after walking in the punishing Roman sun was more than a welcome gift. The TV was satisfactory and the bathroom was top notch. The shower worked properly and released water at a very high pressure. No dribbles or similar. Now, as for the location itself - It's fantastic. It's 5 minutes away from a Metro Station, and if you want to, you can head on into various restaurants on the same street. It's also extremely close to the catacombs as well as an authentic Guido Reni painting. During the time I went, a Caravaggio painting was also on display. For those who don't want to take a metro, the Spanish steps, as well as the Fountain D'Trevi, are only 10 - 15 minutes away if you can battle your way through the multiple legions of flower sellers and selfie stick wielders, from that point onwards, you can walk where-ever. You can more or less walk to Vatican City straight on from the Spanish Steps. The only complaint I have - literally only me - is that the bed was quite hard. Though when you compare this to my memory foam mattress, it's an unfair match. One final thing, the door is keycard operated. Be very careful with your keycard. There are no nasty surprises or costs. Enjoy your stay. I would highly recommend it and I will probably stay there again. Collapse

Ludovisi Palace is a nice hotel with very friendly staff. Our room was not renovated but the room was clean and quiet for easy staying. Location is just 20 minutes walking from Termini station and 10 mins from Trevi Fountain, Spanish stairs and Borghese Park. There were normal tasty breakfast with bacon and eggs, juice, coffee and tea, fruits, yoghurt, bread and some sweet cakes. Thank You, I would like to come again! Collapse
Would stay here on my next trip...

This hotel was recommended by a good friend who stayed there previously and I we were not disappointed. If you're looking for a hotel with a big hotel chain feel, then this isn't the place for you. One of the things I liked about this place is that it's small but have newly remodeled rooms with good sized bathrooms. Although I have to admit that the bathroom can use more counter size for makeup and such. The one quirk they need to work is that a couple times housekeeping knocked and didn't give me time to answer and they just automatically opened the door after a few seconds. The other positive to this place is its location. It's a quick 10 minute walk to the top of the Spanish steps and all the shops around it. I like the fact that this place is not in the middle of all the tourist spots but it's still close enough should one choose to walk. There are also some restaurants nearby as there is no restaurant onsite. However they do have breakfast and cocktails in the evening. Overall I enjoyed our stay here and would stay here in the future. Collapse

This hotel was nice but I wouldn't call it a Palace. Our room must have been one of those already renovated. Very sleek, clean, modern and very minimalistic. There was ONE English TV station and that was CNN. I really don't know why hotels don't cater to all guests. Travelling Europe and walking miles a day in the sun often bring you back to the hotel slightly earlier in the evenings. To be able to lie down and watch a movie or ANY English station other than CNN would be appreciated. I'm not sure who designed the bathroom but there wasn't one hook to hang your towel on. The bathroom looked nice, but didn't function well. No coffee machine in the room, (but then as I discovered later, not many have coffee machines). Not enough plugs in the room, certainly not near the bed. I was also not a fan of seeing all the dirty laundry bags on our floor as you step off the elevator near our room. It seemed to be a permanent spot for them. Hotel staff were friendly and eager to help should you need anything. Collapse

On checking into our room late in the evening, we found out that the AC in our room was not functioning. On complaining about it, we were informed that there is nothing that could be done. Even the location of the room was such that it was overlooking the rear shaft of the building and since it was quite filthy, we could not even open our windows completely ajar for some relief from the heat. Would never ever stay at this hotel again. Collapse
