We are on the 2nd day into a 7 day getaway. Read all the reviews and was really concerned before we came. I have to say, I really do not know what people are complaining about! The hotel entrance leads onto the main strip, apt is lovley and clean, there's a fridge freezer, a 2 ring ceramic hotplate, a microwave, kettle, 4 of each plates cups and cutlery etc, nice balcony and like a bed settee in the lounge kitchen. Also a nice little balcony with table and 4 chairs. Bathroom is massive, and yes the drains do smell a little, solved that by pouring a bottle of bleach down them (i think it's just there's not a U-bend on the waste. Don't drink the water, it tastes funny, however 5mins walk away, it's like 60p for a 2Lt bottle, available in packs of 6, nice size to just chuck on the freezer, then have round the pool all day. Just had our first day round pool, no problems getting a sunbed at all. Went to the pool bar for lunch and paid €6.50 for burger and chips, expected it to be cheap donkey burgers but was pleasantly surprise. What arrived was a nice quarter pounder that was clearly premium mince, salad Brie and bacon. Also had a massive Walls ice cream freezer full with all sorts. They were like €3 each. Pool is lovely, yes it's a bit icy, but rave it for 10 seconds and it's fine. More updates to follow. Collapse

This complex is in a great location with the strip practically on your doorstep. Lots of restaurants and shops. Short bus ride into Cituadella....bus stop outside reception! The apartments are dated and could do with a revamp and a lick of paint but they are spacious and clean. Television has BBC1 and ITV1 so at least there's something to watch. We had some bad weather so the TV was appreciated on more than one occasion lol! We had a room at the back with Sea View and the sunsets are amazing....people come every night to film and take pics. The pool area and bar/snack bar is nice and well kept. Sunbeds were uncomfortable as they are the plastic type with no pads which they could really do with. Some people put lilos on them to give a bit of comfort. Reasonable menu although a bit pricier than down the strip but if you don't fancy going out then there's enough choice. Staff all very friendly. Safety deposit box @ 2 euros per night with a 10 euro refundable deposit. A few small coves to be found if you explore a bit and if you walk along the strip and carry on for about 20 mins you will come to the "hotel Cala 'n' Blanes" with a nice little cove/beach with restaurant and snack bar. We stayed at that hotel 25 years ago and the cove was private just for hotel residents but is now open to the public and is worth the walk although does get very crowded on a good day. No entertainment at the complex but this suited us as looking for a quiet relaxed holiday which is just what we had. In fact it was the quietest complex we have ever been to but whether this was because it was the first week of September and back at school i'm not sure. Collapse

We stayed here over the August bank holiday (travel dates were 26th – 29th August 2017) and had a pleasant stay. We arranged our own transfer with Norbus travel and cost €65 return. The transfer time was approx. 1 hour. Check in was swift and within 10 minutes we had dumped the bags in the room and were catching some rays. The staff on reception were very helpful, friendly and spoke excellent English. The room itself was surprisingly spacious; the kitchen area is well stocked with all the appliances and utensils required for a self-catering holiday. Please note there wasn’t an in room hair dryer or iron but we planned ahead and brought our own. There was also a lack of mirrors with only one in the bathroom and once the condensation struck it was hard to clear. That’s why we always travel with a portable mirror just in case. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of storage space. Towels were changed once during our 3 night stay. Both the pressure and water temperature of the shower were spot on. Should you run out of toilet roll please inform reception who will happily replenish this for you. The only gripe with the room was the absence of air con. We have been all over the world and we believe this is the first hotel where we haven’t had air con in the room. Although a large fan is provided this is only circulating warm air and found we were sweating even more with it on. We found Menorca to lack a breeze and although we had the balcony and bedroom windows open no draught was to be found. The hotel itself is quite large and has two pool areas. Sunbeds were plentiful and it was nice to know you didn’t have to wake up at the crack of dawn to reserve one. Just one minor thing regarding the sunbeds – they are so uncomfortable. They are plastic and don’t come with any padding so be prepared for getting a stiff back and neck. The grounds are immaculate and staff work hard to keep it that way. There is a laundry room on site and it costs €6 per wash load. Location wise, the hotel is spot on. Just a short stroll to the strip where shops, bars and restaurants are in abundance. Castaways became out local during our stay. €2 for a frozen glass of San Miguel €4.20 for a 75cl bottle of domestic cider. Apart from the Hotel restaurant where prices on the menu seemed quite steep, Castaways seemed to be the only place on the strip to serve breakfast. It opens at 8.30 am and we paid €3.60 for a full English (black pudding was 65c extra), the super-size English breakfast was €4.60. For one of our evening meals we tried the Paella which was priced at €7 and tasted delicious. Although our time here was short but sweet we would love to return to the Island. We would only return to this hotel on the proviso that air con is installed and either the existing sunbeds are replaced with comfortable canvas ones or padding/cushions are provided. Collapse
