SUMMARY: Location is great between Maspalomas dunes and Meloneras beach. The resorts provides full and quality service with diverse activities for all ages and tastes. Rooms are ample and clean. Food is of quality and assorted. The Spa experience is a "must visit" activity PROS: Location, Service, Premises, Food CONS: "maybe" price (but worth it), some "extra" fees (Internet, bag weight) Located next to Las Palomas Light house this big, or even huge, hotel and spa is a great place to stay and recharge. In our case we arrived late on a Tuesday and other than a little misunderstanding with the bell boy, the checking was performed fast and pleasantly. So fast that it took less than 10 minutes. we even had the room keys deliver to us at the restaurant to which we had been taken directly since it closed in less than 45 minutes after our arrival and the staff wanted to make sure we were able to eat after a long flight. After dinner we went to our rooms and all our luggage was there and the rooms were perfectly prepared for us. It was a blessing since after a long flight, and a quick diner, we just wanted to rest. Rooms are quite big. After the door, there is an small reception area. On one side of the hall is the door to the bathroom that includes separate shower and bathtub. however the toilet is not separated and there is no bidet. Something surprising in a hotel of these characteristics. Finally the is only a single washbasin which may be a little uncomfortable in a double (big) room). On the hall, and opposite to the bathroom door there is an small table perfect for the beach towels that are delivered daily as well as all those little things you want to empty your pockets when you arrive at your room. Opposite to the main door there is a little hallway which in realty are two big wardrobes. The room, in our case, had two beds, a TV (which we never turned on) a small table and two chairs. In general it was well lighted and all was comfortable. Access to the private balcony is done thought two huge sliding doors and on it you will find another table, two chairs and a folding clothes dryer. I found out that the balcony is a perfect place to read a book in the afternoon before going for dinner. Regarding dinners and breakfast we only tried one of the restaurants, I just don't remember the name but its the closest to the main street. In all cases food was plenty and of good quality. For dinner there were always at lest two types of seafood done on the pan. Several types of salads (like 6 or 8) assorted vegetables; two types of meat (also done at the moment on the pan) roast beef or roasted pork legs; several types of fries; two types of soups or creams; a selection of cold cuts; several types of cheese; 6 types of bread; 3 types of butter...... and so on. It was a surprise that drinks were not included and, just as an example, a half a little bottle of water is over 2 Euros. The food selection for breakfast was also quite ample and included, sausages, two types of omelets, beacon, some kind of pancakes; 8 or so types of cereals, 5 types or juices and so on ... Cafe can be requested and a pot will be delivered to the table. The premises offer several swimming pools and hot tubes. there are also multiple areas to sunbath including a nude one. if you prefer to be a little more active there are also several tennis and paddle tennis courts. Finally if you, even after using all these, get bored, you have direct access to the water front and from there you can walk for 15 minutes to the Maspalomas dunes on the left or to Meloneras beach on the right or to the lighthouse beach (5 minutes away). During our stay we also used the Spa... and it's well worth its price (35 euros the 4 hour package) the hot and cold rooms area amazing. The flotation pool is incredible relaxing. Even the salt room was nice. Maybe 4 hours is too long, but since the 2 hour package don't allow you to access all the rooms I recommend you to go for the 4 hours and stay around 3. Remember to bring some extra clothing for "after" and they will provide you with robe and towel plus a looker to store all your stuff. Service is quite good and even top of the line most of the time. It obviously goes down on the restaurants (mainly on top time) and at the bars. Check in and out is done quite fast as I explained before. reservations are also done efficiently and almost all the staff speaks several languages. Even if most of the experience was great, not all of it was perfect and I will remember several small details that impede me of giving a 5 star review. For example: In my room there was a part of the shower ceiling, like 15 cm by 8 cm, in with the paper was falling down. There was a 2 euros per day charge for an Internet connection that barely worked. There was a 1 euro, per bag, charge to weight the luggage if you were concern about it weights. BTW there was a 2 Kg difference between the hotel and the airport so some of my family members has to take stuff out of the bags at the airport. No complimentary water was provided neither at the room or at the common areas. We asked for some drinks and the order was not delivered right. Some, way more expensive, drinks were delivered and after requesting the change it took them over 20 minutes to bring the right ticket. Other than the little hiccups I found the experience really good and I'm already planning another visit with my wife. The place is perfect to relax and enjoy life and I'll happily recommend it to my friends. Collapse

The hotel is just a one off its like staying within a botanical gardens. All kept very tidy and clean and that goes for the whole of the hotel. The staff are excellent always helpful and have time for you. The reception seems a little understaffed and there seems to be line of people waiting to be seen for one thing or another. The staff are good and very helpful when you get seen. Expect to spend about 40 mins to check in. The room we had was tired and while it was a good size the decor and furnishings were just worn and tired. The outside areas ware very nice and very well looked after. Plenty of sunbeds but the best ones get taken very quickly despite the hotel trying to prevent people grabbing them early. The food is very plentiful and the quality was good they also cater for all food requirements. The swimming pools are just excellent and also kept in tip top order. Sunbeds get cleaned as well as the pool and sides of the pools. The local bus service is OK and very useful. Overall very nice break in a nice hotel with great weather. Really quite enjoyed it. This magnificent hotel is situated in the upmarket resort of Meloneras, a short taxi ride from Playa del Ingles. Stunning lighthouse and promenade with designer boutiques and lovely eateries make this a great place to stay. The hotel is gated and exudes calm and tranquility from its infinity pool to daily tai chi on the lawns. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. Plenty of sun beds in high season and evening entertainment is better than most hotels.food is varied and tasty with show cooking every night. An oasis of calm Collapse
