I'm not a fan of chain hotels, but Marriott just get it! ~ My husband has collected Marriott points from staying in their hotels on business, which means that we get to stay for a night now and again free of charge. They NEVER make you feel lesser than any other guest in that situation, still give you a good room, and on this particular stay, when we mentioned it was our anniversary, they sent up a beautiful platter of charcuterie with a half bottle of Merlot and a beautiful card signed by all of the team, and showed that they had taken note that it was our 14th anniversary. Very warm and solicitous as awlays. I am fast becoming a fan! Collapse

I'm amazed this property gets good reviews. I don't often write reviews but felt this one needed one - as a warning. This is NOT a 4-star resort - it's a 3, at best. Our family of four - two adults with two teenage daughters - booked the Junior Executive Suite, with two king beds. We are Marriott reward members and seek out these hotels. Was very excited by the description of the junior suite, but should have paid more attention to reviews of it. It's worn, tired and the A/C does not work, which makes for a miserable stay in July. I was saddened by the very unfriendly staff - everyone seemed miserable - which was also noted by my girls and husband. Back to the suite - the furniture should be thrown out, the stained, ripped carpeting replaced, and the A/C fixed. Positives - the beds were comfortable and clean, and the bathroom had two showers, which was odd but came in very handy. The executive lounge is down steps below the lobby - also very hot - we didn't spend much time there because there wasn't a breath of air. It's dark and not very appealing, although they did offer some nice afternoon snacks and drinks. I thought it would seem very special - not very many folks using it - but they clearly gave access to everyone staying in hotel. Also -our check in was a bit infuriating. I was notified days ahead that I had the option of an early check in, if available, for an extra fee. They made it clear this wasn't guaranteed, but I checked it off, very hopeful we could get in early. We arrived at noon (early check in would have been available at 8 am). Not only was it not available because the previous party was staying right up to check out - they allowed the previous party to have a LATE check out, so the room was barely ready by 4. Why offer it to us - and we jumped at it - to then offer the previous folks a late check out??? We hiked around London, hot, sweaty and irritated. We were able to go into the lounge upon arrival, but it was hardly a refreshing stop, because it was hot and crowded. Overall dismal stay at this hotel and we would never return. Sad, because we always pick Marriotts and was hoping for a much nicer experience at this one. Note, when I approached the front desk about our A/C issue, I was told in no uncertain terms that the air was fine. It certainly was - at the front desk! - but miserable upstairs. Chatted with a man from California who agreed - said his room was very hot, as well. Collapse

Stayed here for a few nights in July 2017. The location is pretty good, in the heart of Kensington near the V&A and Natural History Museums. The circle, district, and Piccadilly tube line are also easily accessed The property is fairly modern, which is a drawback in some ways as you don't get the same feel and character that you would in other hotels in London. The breakfast is decent and there is a lounge. The staff was pleasant for the most part. Rooms were average. Bottom line, its a good property and the standout feature is the lower cost compared to other Marriott properties in London. Collapse

We had a 1st floor room on the back of the hotel and for London it was unbelievably quiet. Had a great night sleep in a comfy bed, clean bedroom with a healthy sized breakfast. Booked there as it's easily walkable from the Royal Albert Hall
