This hotel is in a wonderful location, but it is very standard hotel fare. It feels very generic....not what you would expect given its relatively small size. It's not cheap either, so I really don't get why it feels like a step up from a Holiday Inn. But it is right next to a fabulous shopping district.... Oh, and BTW, check your bill. They charged me for wifi even though it was included in the rate that I got on line. They corrected it when I pointed it out, but I shouldn't have had to.... Collapse

Checked in the night before via the promoted Mobile Check In.....indicated arrival time of Noon. I understand as was not upset that there was no room available when I arrived.....but even though I used Mobile Check In, I still had to stand in a line to speak to an agent. Once I got through the line, was told they would text me when room was available and they would be happy to hold my luggage for me and deliver it to the room once assigned. All OK so far..... went to a local pub for lunch and meet some colleagues. We stay for over 3 1/2 hours...highly recommend the neighboring Barley pub. Finally went back to hotel at the normal check in time of 4pm....stood in line yet again, even though I had already done mobile checkin and signed paperwork 4 hours earlier with an agent. I was told room was available and given key....no apoligy from Marriott on the ineffectiveness of both their mobile checkin option or their non-existent text messages to alert me room was available. Annoying but still ok....I ask about luggage and am told that the luggage was already delivered to the room.....said thank you as I need to get my computer and get online for business. Go to room.....no luggage, no computer, no one answers phone when I call down to inquire.....so walk back down, stand in the same line for the third time now, and finally get to ask about my luggage.....they say, no it wasn't delivered , we have been really busy. I say I checked four hours ago....they say, but we have been busy. So I say can I get my luggage now? Yes sir, we will bring it to your room, I say no maam, I will wait here for my luggage....they finally bring it, Back to room....boot up computer to join Marriott Wifi....doesn't not work, keeps telling my last name and room number or invalid. Call down....no answer. Wait 30 minutes, call again finally someone answers.....tell him problem,, he states,"you checked in via Mobile option", I say yes,, they say, well mobile option inserts mobile as part of your last name. Would you like us to change it? I say OF COURSE genius! Rooms are nice, but staff do not provide service to the level of the cost of this hotel. Collapse

I recently stayed one night at the Marriott Grosvenor Square in London and was impressed by the helpfulness of the staff. I had reserved a room with access to the executive lounge and free breakfast which we enjoyed. The hotel has a great history and had been updated with many modern conveniences. The staff went out of their way to ensure that our stay, even though short, was memorable. Complements to Romeo who handled our many requests with ease and professional skill. A special thank you to Stan. You saved my I-Day!!! I would have rated the hotel with 5 Stars but for the sofa bed. Please get a new one the springs were pushing through and my roommates had a rough time sleeping. Collapse

Very nice location, 5mins from Oxford street (Selfridges) and you don't feel/hear it. I had a great room looking out on the side street so it was quiet; the hotel has a very nice bar area and a smaller complimentary breakfast room on level -1 (no window though). Very helpful staff in general but at check-in both my colleague and myself were not impressed with the level of service read attitude of the two young, pretentious girls who only changed attitude as soon as their supervisor stopped by. Not impressed. However, all in all, nice hotel. Collapse
