I have visited this hotel many times, but this last two times have been even better than before. I was upgraded twice to a suite and the suite was wonderful. The staff could not have been better - they were very helpful. The executive lounge was fantastic - even better than last time. Very impressed - want to stay there on every visit to London. Collapse

We visited the Marriott in December with Marriott points (platinum to be exact) as we were not traveling with the actual card holder but his wife we got a frosty reception from the receptionist who told us that we shouldn't be checking in without him, his wife was there and we could quite happily have called him if need be? She eventually checked us in and It was all very necessary, but it did not get us to off to a good start. The room was not ready, understandably only a request but we did "request" an early check in. We went off for the day and got back at 18.00pm into the room, only to find someone else luggage in there, but not ours. We called down to reception and after being passed to three different departments an exasperated porter seemed very pleased that we had found the luggage but when we asked where ours was he didn't seem so concerned and said that he would "find it". It appeared 15 minutes later. The room was small and very poorly lit, another "request" was two single beds but unfortunately we only got a double, not ideal for two females. This room had been booked 2 months in advance. We had a few drinks in The Luggage Room bar before going out for dinner, the bill was around 200 sterling, not cheap but very nice cocktails. We then returned after dinner, to a half empty bar, to be told we couldn't go in on a Saturday night we had to have a reservation as they were full, and every table was reserved? We pointed out it was half empty and we were told that there were people coming later...at midnight? As residents of the Hotel we would at least have expected to be able to get a drink before midnight? One of the party spoke to reception and miraculously a table was found! However the damage was already done and it just added to the accumulating issues. The only positive I can find is the location which is great just off Oxford Street. However I travel frequently and there are far better hotels in London at a much cheaper price with bigger rooms, better service and a more welcoming attitude. Sorry but we won't be going back to the Marriott. Collapse

Stayed here on 24.11.17 for one night, marriotts in the past have always been good, must admit I was looking forward to it as it's in a lovely part of London, I have stayed in far superior 3star hotels in London, the room was basic, taps had just a mean trickle of water coming out of them and to me they looked a little dirty, bathroom v small, bed OK, but there's a hard wooden frame around the bed and banged my knees on several occasions, I didn't eat in hotel so can't comment, the cocktail bar is on ground floor and is so dark didn't know where I was walking, all my friend wanted to do is have a nice draft lager and relax but no draft lager so to speak could have had a gin but at 12 pound.......... Really! I know expensive part of town but a total rip off, we asked to take our drinks to our room, then a bill was put under door about 3in the morning 18 pounds for two drinks and 2 pound room service when we carried the drinks up to our own room I've literally stayed in better ibis and premier inns Collapse
Why stay anywhere else?

This is now our third visit to the Marriott Grosvenor Square. Again, it proved to be the perfect choice for our travelling needs. The quiet neighborhood and the simple, quick walk to the Bond Street tube stop made the decision to stay again an absolute “no brainer”. Please see my prior reviews regarding the lounge. It is such a great benefit to have it available as a launching point for the day (or midday), or as a place to have a last beverage before heading up to the room. As before, we consistently took advantage of all it offered throughout our stay. All of the staff we encountered were pleasant. Without fail, we were approached with a smile, and an offer to provide us with any type of assistance we desired. Our room was comfortable for the family. Plenty of floor space for all of us to move around even with the pull out sofa extended. Wash room amenities are top notch and plentiful. Also, lots of plugs to keep our electronics charged. US receptacle included. Positives: NEW LIFTS! Convenient location Universally helpful staff Book the lounge access Negatives: Our room was in need of some maintenance help. Noisy HVAC, broken reading lamp. I know this review is redundant, but I doubt we will look elsewhere for our next trip to London. Collapse
