Just thought I'd do a review on our recent stay at the Royal Pacific Hotel at universal studios Florida. On the whole I cannot fault this hotel , it's staff we're pleasant, efficient and hard working. The food offered in all the restaurants was good although a little pricey. The facilities of the hotel and pool area were second to none and the hotels location was brilliant with only a short walk or boat ride to the parks. Staying there also meant our park tickets got automatically upgraded to the express pass which made all the difference when in the parks and the ride wait times. All in all I would thoroughly recommend the hotel to everyone without a doubt. There is only one small criticism I would pass on to the hotel. It is regarding the outside spa pool which is hidden away to the side of the pool. When we were there most nights Children as young as 5 were jumping in and out of it and generally using it to play in. I don't want to sound miserable but they were unsupervised and out of view of the life guards. Inside the pool was a quite large ledge below the surface and I just kept thinking sooner or later one of them will have a serious accident or even worse. There is a sign saying children to be supervised but they were not and the pool was open until 11pm , and plenty of children used this area when dark. I felt the area should be more secure and Children not allowed to run and jump in or use it for playing in , after all there was the main pool adjacent for this which was supervised by 3 life guards. Other than this everything was fine , and this was just a worry I had. Collapse

We had two nights in this hotel primarily so we could get the Express Passes for the Universal theme parks. We were greeted well and the staff we spoke to were very friendly, efficient and knowledgable. We arrived early so our room wasn't ready, but we were given our express passes and could check in anyway, and then I received a test when the room was ready, which is a good feature. The room was a bit smaller than I expected (but hotel rooms generally are!), was kitted out to a high standard and very clean. We had a club room which gave us access to the club lounge. This was good because not only was there free food and drinks at certain times of the day, the staff were very knowledgable and friendly and could help you out with things such as restaurant bookings. We used the free boat shuttle to the parks a lot, and this was a lovely little journey and made getting to the parks very easy. The hotel itself is beautiful and luxurious and had a very calm feel. We ate once in the Orchid Dining Room and the food was lovely and service very good. I would definitely go back to this hotel again if visiting Universal theme parks. Collapse
The only thing good about this hotel is the Express Passes

Our room was not ready when we arrived but we fully expected that as we arrived around 11:00am. Things only went down hill from there. When we arrived in our room, our roll-a-way bed was not set up and instead jammed into the corner, making it very difficult to even open the door. I had to make a call for someone to come set up the bed. Next, the door to the bathroom fell off its track while my ten year old was in the bathroom. He narrowly escaped injury and it was quite a feat to get him out. I called to have the door fixed and the refrigerator fixed, which was also not working, at the same time. A engineer came to fix the bathroom door in a relatively timely manner but would not look at the refrigerator, at that was deemed another department. By 10:00pm I cancelled the refrigerator repair because my children were asleep & I didn't want them woken up by the repair person. We had a room facing the pool and were kept awake by a VERY loud movie that was playing at the pool, we were never informed at check-in that a movie would be playing at the pool area. The next day the door fell off again, uggh! We were promised a credit for the inconveniences and only received half of it. The pool area was very dirty and it was extremely difficult to get any drink service. I will NEVER stay here again! Collapse
Excellent location for a suprisingly relaxing theme park holiday.

On arriving at the hotel, we were warmly greeted and didn't have to wait long to check in (ideal after a long flight fro the U.K.) Our room was clean and tidy, just about enough room for myself and my two children, but we didn't plan spending much ti,me in there anyway. I had emailed prior to our arrival advising that as y son is Autistic, we would appreciate as quiet location as possible. Not sure if the email was read as I didn't receive a response, which is a bit off for a hotel of this standard. I was glad we hadn't paid extra for a pool view room, as it was quite noisy. Our room overlooked the Watalu area and as we went to this, no sound issues here for me to worry about. The pool, probably unsuprisingly for suach a large hotel, could be quite busy late afternoon, however, the hotel itself felt very calm and tranquil despite the large number of guests staying. We ate in all of the hotel restaurants and had excellent food and service. I'd decided not to go for the club option and didn't regret my decision - we had breakfast in the hotel most mornings. The walk/boat ride to the theme parks was lovely. As I was the only driver, it was nice to be able to walk to dinner or pop into one of the parks in the evening. I do, however, have a few niggles. Three people were staying in our room, yet each day we only received two cups for the coffee/ tea machine and I had to ask repeatedly for an extra cup. Supplies of tea/coffee were also a bit stingy - it would have been nice to have been able to have more than one cup per day. I mentioned earlier that I had requested as quiet a room as possible, and though our room was in a quiet part of the hotel, we were quite near to the lift, which'dinged' constantly. I didn't realise until the first night, after which time we'd already unpacked. In fairness to the hotel, I didn't bring this up with them at the time and I'm sure they would have moved us if we had requested. In all, however, we had a lovely stay, so much that my son didn't want to leave! (This was his first trip to somewhere unfamiliar and staying in a hotel). We will certainly return. Collapse

Lovely resort, warm welcome, checked bags, collected tickets and went straight to parks. We were sent a text message when our room was ready and returned to collect our key. Room was clean, spacious with lots of room for cases and clothes and spacious wash area and beds were comfy. Pool was pleasant and nice to have a movie in the pool for the kids in the evenings. Hotel restaurants were very good but pricy. The express passes come included when staying at this hotel and they are fabulous, we didn't wait long for anything. Definitely intend to return to this tranquility among the park madness. Collapse
