Our families recent trip to the Loews Royal Pacific Hotel in Orlando particularly the Orchid Court Lounge was an excellent dining experience.... the food service with food server, Sung was nothing short of spectacular.... The quality of the food absolutely the best! The Orchid Court Lounge's new manager Chris, went out of his way to make sure that we enjoyed our experience..... he actually created a cheese platter at my daughter Maddy's request that was no longer on the menu. Thank you Chris and Sung for a great time! PS breakfast in the morning at the Orchid Court Lounge was a pleasurable experience also with Shu Kan.... he is the best! Collapse

Booked this hotel for a short Winter getaway, due to its convenience to the parks and the magnificent pool. Upon arrival, we were informed that the room wasn't ready and we replied, no worries, we'll head to the pool first. Girl at check in...face drops- "I'm sorry, but the pool is closed for renovations". Wait what? " Well you can shuttle or walk to the adjacent hotels and use their pools." Yes, I'm paying a premium price for convenience to the parks and the ability to walk back and forth to the park and the pool. I'll just shuttle back and forth with the three kids in wet bathing suits. That sounds so relaxing. We asked to be switched to another on sight hotel but all of them were " booked". Maybe President's day weekend isn't the best time to shut down the pool. Spoke to manager after manager and a supervisor. We were offered NOTHING, but a " yeah sorry" so I find it interesting that the GM keeps acting so surprised and requesting everyone to email him. Ended up cancelling our reservation and they were " gracious " enough to tell us that they won't charge us the $200 cancellation fee. Gee thanks. I understand maintenance needs to be done, but guests should be INFORMED when booking. Had we not brought it up at check in we would have been checked in, and heading down to the closed pool and OUT OF LUCK like all these other poor folks who payed for the convenience and luxury that they couldn't enjoy, Collapse
Average hotel, you're really paying for on-site and free express passes

It was my first time staying on site at Universal and I was hoping for a better experience considering the $300/night rooms. It felt more like a $100/night hotel, but you're really paying for being on-site and the free express passes. I'd definitely consider this in your decision to stay here, as it did not feel like a resort at all. All their pools were closed, the rooms were dirty, and they didn't have bathroom utilities or free water provided in the hotel. Collapse

Our family of 5 stayed at the Royal Pacific Club Level in early December 2016. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had made the right choice. The check in staff were friendly and cheery and we were greeted with alohas and leis for each of us. Our room was nicely decorated and beautiful. Our view was of the pool with the Harry Potter castle in the distance, gorgeous! In the room, there is a mini fridge and a Keurig coffee maker with k-cups and teas. The two queen beds were very comfortable and the pillows plush. We brought our own blow up mattress for the extra person in the room and Star Services provided us with extra blankets and pillows promptly when called. Our room was on the 7th floor, tower 3. This is a Club Level room, you need to use your room key in the elevator to access this floor. The Club Lounge was perfect for us. The night we arrived, we were just in time for dessert hour...yum! Dessert and coffee is just what we needed after a long day of travelling. We were greeted when entering the lounge and felt very welcome. Each day we had a lovely breakfast which consisted of bagels, pastries, hard boiled eggs, cold cuts, yogurt, cereal and oatmeal. Coffee, tea, soda and lemonade were available all day as well as bottled water. If you need water to take to the parks, just ask and the staff will give you extra bottles. Afternoon offerings had coated pretzels, party mix, chips and our favorite, PB&J Uncrustables (sandwich). Supper had 2 hot dishes, salad and assorted cheese and vegetables. Wine and beer were served free of charge during supper hour. We enjoyed the different menu each day of the week. Dessert was served for one hour in the evenings between 8 and 9. Always very tasty! Usually cookies and two other types of dessert. For us, what was offered was plenty and we did not feel the need to eat elsewhere. The Club staff were always friendly and we had many fun conversations! Great bunch of people!! The pool was great and not busy the whole time we were there. The beginning of December is a great time to vacation as it's usually quiet, right before the holiday rush. Staying here you also are entitled to early entry into one of the parks, this varies as to which one. And best of all, UNLIMITED EXPRESS PASS! This is priceless when you don't like standing in lines for half the day. We were on rides right away or less than a five minute wait. I did feel slightly guilty at times passing all the people waiting in line, but got over it quickly. The express pass cannot be used on the two Harry Potter rides or the Hogwarts Train. Getting to the parks was very easy, either using the boat shuttles or a ten minute walk. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a boat, usually it was right there waiting or 5 minutes. Great way to get back when you have been walking all day. The pool is beautiful. We only used it once for just a short time, but we really enjoyed it. We loved our stay here so much, we have already booked again for November 2017! We thought about staying at Hard Rock, but decided we liked it here at the Royal Pacific too much to go anywhere else. Thanks for such a great vacation!! Stay Club Level, you won't regret it! For larger families, Club is the more economical way to go! Collapse

Myself and my partner stayed for a week and decided to treat ourselves to a club level room. The room was lovely, very clean and modern and the bed was very comfortable. To then have access to the lounge was great. The afternoon snacks and evening buffet style snacks were a great way to avoid having to worry about finding food within the parks. They also serve alcoholic drinks for a few hours each evening which was another nice touch. Being so close to the parks was wonderful and we were even able to have a night out dancing at the city walk and were back in our bed within 15 mins of leaving! As a hotel guest, the complimentary express passes alone made the trips into the parks more enjoyable as well. Having stayed in a Disney hotel the week before, there was absolutely no comparison - we by far preferred the universal hotel. A great stay! Collapse
