Serene was amazing to deal with. After a long walk to hotel from Penn Station, she was able to provide us early check-in which was much appreciated. Serene also upgraded us to a corner room. She pointed out there was free bottled water available to save us some money. On the day of departure, it was raining and the hotel had free umbrellas we could use until we left back for Toronto. A very enjoyable stay made pleasant by Serene attentativeness. Collapse

I checked in tonight and already want to leave! This hotel is terrible. The lobby is awful and the guests are not great either. Rough and ready. I went to my first room. The second I heard a guest sneezing in the next room, I left. Also heard other side coughing. Walls are PAPER THIN, clearly. Next room was next to a load of noisy Hispanic guests. Screaming and shouting. Next room was located exactly next to the elevator so that was gone. All rooms are noisy. Every one. All windows are useless. Surely there should be some insulation, I mean, hello! We are in New York!! Known for noise. I've stayed in NYC many many times and most hotels have good windows. This sadly doesn't. If you want to sleep, avoid here please!!! The decor is horrible, cheap and ugly. The main huge problem is you cannot sleep with paper thin walls where you can hear everything and also the windows are so terrible, it's like being outside on the street. I'm booked here for the next 2 nights with work, otherwise I'd leave immediately. Not nice at all Collapse

We stayed at the Lexington for our anniversary. Good base for our discovery of New York. The free bottled water and tea/coffee was a much appreciated touch and there was a well equipped gym. the room was comfortable and spacious, a very clean and well presented hotel - staff very helpful and professional. we were lucky enough to have been there for the 4th of July to enjoy the fireworks which were amazing on top of all the sights. our only regret was we did not see a show or get up the Empire state but there was so much to do we just did not fit it in. we will have to go back Collapse

I had a 6 night stay here at the Lexington during Memorial Day week. This hotel is located in midtown and is only a few blocks away from the subway. It is also very walkable to Rockefeller Center and Time Square which is great. Front desk staff was accommodating and lobby (spacious, plenty of seating) was always buzzing. A fantastic perk of the Lexington is that they have free coffee and water bottles round the clock near the reception desk which saved me a good chunk of change. They had plenty of elevators and wait times were not bad at all. The first room I received was on the smaller side, but still spacious enough for two people and clean. We had a king bed room and were very comfortable. We stayed in this room for about 4 of the 6 nights until we suddenly woke up to window cleaners scaffolding our side of the building. It was quite loud and we tried to just push through, however at one point they were directly outside our window (as in i could see their silhouettes through the blinds and could hear their conversation with them and give them a cup of water if they were thirsty). I gave the front desk a call and after some confusion (someone told me no one should scaffolding the building, another didnt know what was going on), I was transferred to the manager (who had to check first) and confirmed that their building was undergoing window cleaning for the next couple days on that side of the building and where I then requested a room change for the opposite side of the building. A little heads up would have been appreciated as it was rude wake up call and I felt uncomfortable that people were right outside our window. However, the front desk was very accommodating and apologetic regarding this matter. Unfortunately there was not an open room available until 3pm that day, so we had to pack up and left our luggages in our room, which was a minor but understandable inconvenience. When we came back at 3pm that day, the front desk employee did not see any notes left from the manager under our reservation about our room change and had to doublecheck, which was another minor inconvenience. The new room that we received was considerably bigger than our original room, but i realized that it was still on the same side of the building as the window cleaning. I didn't want to bother with switching rooms again so we endured as we only had two nights in this room and luckily the next morning it was fine. Overall, it was a great stay for our first trip to NYC regardless of the minor issues we had. Collapse

We stayed in December so it was all so festive and lovely. It really is a beautiful and welcoming lobby. Our room was not as nice as the previous hotel, they are quite small and basic but nice enough. The location is great you are so close to everything. Great staff, and if you go to the bar they make amazing cocktails here. We would always have one before we went out or sit in the lobby when we got back. We would definitely stay here again. Collapse
