We spent 3 nights/4 days in Rome at Leon's Place. As a party of 5 only 1 had been to Rome before. We had 3 double rooms with plenty of space. They were clean, quiet and had brilliant amenities. Even a phone that we could use to phone the UK for free and to take out and about with us. However no tea or coffee facilities in the room. The breakfast was lovely with a large variety, even for picky eaters. The bar staff went over and above to make us feel welcome, however drinks were a little pricy. (They do offer good free snacks to go with the drinks!) Close to the metro, around 10 minute walk but a little further out of the centre (only around 15-20min walk overall). The ice cream place opposite is a must and always take the white taxi's, they are cheaper and run by the city so more reliable. Overall, a great stay! Collapse

arrived early and was allowed room which was great - reception was friendly. Room was lovely and bed comfy. Room had complementary robe and slippers and I used the spa too to relax after a few days of walking, one thing to note is I had to ask for it to be opened and from outside of door wouldn't know it was there - so would suggest it was signposted with instructions if closed to ask reception to open and can take upto 10 min to get it up to temp. It didn't bother me too much bar being in my robe in reception and the Jacuzzi was ready instantly whilst I waited for the steam and sauna to get ready. Had birthday here and as other said its great to feel appreciated with a bottle of fizz - nice touch. Bar area nice if a little pricey but cocktails were strong and you got lots of crisps and nuts etc as well. Hotel was situated a little out of town but we didn't mind the walk as was quiet, took 7 min to get to a metro and there is a bus stop literally outside the door that takes you to town and vatican Collapse

Me and my partner booked this as part of a last minute package deal and it is a truly amazing gem of a hotel, from arriving at the hotel from our coach transfer and seeing others from the coach been dropped off at some dismal looking hotels ours got others on the coach talking about how nice it looked, just from the outside! We were greeted by a very friendly open receptionist chap who during the stay even recommended visits and tours and things to do but he was great and all his recommendations where great and made our stay even more eventful. The room was great, we had a balcony overlooking the main street and the bed, bathroom and everything was great, clean and high quality. We loved it! The service by the hotel staff was great, the hotel receptionist chap was brilliant as mentioned earlier, very helpful and friendly, there was a young chap who served the bar some nights and was there at breakfast time, he was brilliant. Overall definitely recommend this hotel to any couple going on holiday to Rome, it's in a out of the way yet convenient walk location and even has a Coop and ice cream shop across the road! Collapse

My in laws booked this hotel for us for our mini moon following our wedding. It was beautiful! The room was lovely, we arrived to a chilled bottle of fizz too with a nice note congratulating us on our wedding, only let down for the room was no seating on the balcony and an internal view which just looked onto more walls, that being said it didn't really matter as we spent little time in the room as there's so much to go out and see. Service within the hotel was great, the breakfast manager greeted us each day checking on our sleep etc, and reception were helpful in booking taxis. The bar man who worked each night of our visit was very attentive, though the bar prices were a little high the cocktails were very strong! And you were offered snacks each time which were huge - olives, peanuts, tortilla chips and salsa all in one go. He also helped in suggesting a good beat by restaurant for the night we didn't want to go far. The room included use of a 'handy' smart phone, this of complimentary with the room and it was amazing! It meant we had full use of 4g data and calls free of charge whilst in Rome. This meant we could always navigate our way around with ease using the maps function and I feel this really helped us to get the most out of our time there. I'd love to see this in more hotels. As for location, it is a little out of the way of the main attractions, however I feel this worked for us as it means it's a bit quieter. We used taxis on a night when going out for food, these weren't expensive though costing about €10 down to Trevi, Spanish steps etc. When walking it took us around 20-30 minutes to walk to these places.
