Myself and 3 other friends decided to stay at Le Ville for one night. When we arrived we were advised that we were unable to have a free bottle of wine and we would have saved 10% if we had booked and paid directly with the hotel instead of using booking.com. Our card was imprinted which I really wasn't happy about, this made us all feel very uncomfortable. On the way downstairs to our room [in the basement] the smell of damp became apparent very quickly. We opened our room door to discover there were no functioning windows in the room, that the base of the bed and the walls were covered in damp stains and what looked like toxic black mould. There was a metallic, damp taste in the air. The receptionist was very helpful and moved our room, he explained that the basement rooms were all the same. And, he was correct, it was exactly the same in the new room. The air was stagnant and very damp, the lack of oxygen and clean air made for a very uncomfortable night. Non of the windows would open as the rooms are below street level and the windows are level with the pavement. We were given a chocolate muffin for the inconvenience....... The showers are very noisy as though the pipes are going to burst, ironically enough, the bathroom was decorated very well and was the only space with ventilation. We paid just over £173 for two economy rooms for 1 night. The hygiene standards of these rooms are way below anything I have ever experienced. The experience ruined our stay and trip to manchester. It is very unlikely that we will return to Le Ville as the cost doesn't reflect the standards of the rooms or service, we felt robbed and were totally unhappy with the standard of the room, we left the hotel with breathing difficulties and a feeling of disappointment and remorse......... This is a perfect place to stay when you are not intending to spend a great deal of time in your room. I stayed when showing a visiting friend the sites of Manchester. It is basic and yes, you do get noise from the street but, this is to be expected due to it's location. I found the staff friendly, the room clean (despite a hole in the bathroom wall), the bed very comfortable and pleased there was tea/coffee making facilities (often missing from lower cost hotels). So, overall ideal for a stay when you are going to be out late and just need a place to rest your weary head and feet. :-) Collapse

The hotel is very welcoming and the staff are great. The room was upgraded for free which was really good. All the facilities are bang on and also got a free extension for checking out free of charge.

The hotel is small but in a great central location. Expect a happy buzzing crowd in the evenings and nights, so it's not the place for the light sleepers. Room comfortable and offers everything that's necessary for a short stay. Complimentary muffins on check in went down a treat! Always pleased with good tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. Overall enjoyed our stay and would recommend for short stay for somebody who is easy going and not fussy. Collapse

I strongly advise that you do not stay at this hotel. The rooms are very close to the street with poor sound insulation, you can hear everything outside. There is a club at the rear of the building, the sound can be heard through the hotel. It is not family friendly and we actually felt quite intimidated staying there, loads of shouting in the hotel. We ended up leaving at 12:30 midnight. They are very aggressive when it comes to returning money. They do not believe in customer service. They returned 50% of our money, even though they totally mis-sold their business claiming we could 'relax' at their hotel. Do not take your family here you've been warned, staff are very rude, once you've paid. This hotel business only works because of its location, they can dupe enough new customers regularly to make it a profitable business. It may be quieter on week days, however any noise outside and it will sound like your out there with them. Please please take my advise, horrible experience. Collapse
